Please add me too

TurboPascal, Delphi, C, PHP, SQL, JavaScript, Flash/ActionScript, HTML/CSS, ASM, XML, Ajax

Ajax isn't a language.

but it is a technique - straight from the OP:

Secondly, I thought it would be a good idea to make an official list of the knowledge of different programming languages/scripts/techniques possessed by the users of ATPF.

I'm not getting into what is and isn't a valid technique for the list. After all, I added "Dark Tongue of Mordor" when degibson listed it, so obviously I'm unqualified.

We'll maintain some very loose criteria: 7 out of 10 unbiased observers need to agree that the skill, technique, specific technology, or pasttime must be somehow related to the production of software, or it must be at least mildly funny.

I think we should have tests/quizzes or link to a few threads where we helped people out to qualify to be on that list.

To me it doesn't make sense just listing your skillset and being automatically posted, especially if your skill level isn't up to par.

There's no way we could administer such a program and do it fairly. The only and original point of the list is as a reference of what members have said their expertise is, so that they can be contacted for assistance or other reasons. So it is a list of volunteered information, and the only backing any statement in it is likely to have is the member's reputation in the forum.

C++, Java, Assembly, html/zhtml (Yes, zhtml)

Most comfortable in Java, still learning Assembly, C may be slightly rusty.

(I was on the last one of these threads, but must've changed since then)

Well, I'd say "Embedded systems" and "Linux kernel programming", it's specific enough IMHO.

It looks like the things I listed as my strengths never got added to the list!

Well, I've forgotten most of my PHP, so given the attempt to minimize the listing, please remove me from:
MatLab, C++, JavaScript, Java

And add:
Perl, VBScript

I seriously don't think XHTML should be a seperate category apart from HTML/CSS. Sure, it's a different markup language but 99.9% of the sites on the internet are not sent as Content-Type: application/xhtml+xml or some dialect of xml - and the main reason being that IE doesn't support XHTML. I'm 99% sure that the people listing it misinterpret the content they're sending because they code the markup in XHTML, but it's being sent as text/html.

Anyone who would list themselves skillfull in ECMAScript ( Javascript ) would surely be familiar with XMLHTTPRequest, or what most people would call Ajax - and I think it should be listed at least with Javascript. It wouldn't make sense to be skillfull in AJAX but not Javascript.. IMO

Hey man, it's Christmas; you should have something more important to do .

The policy I have set for this thread is that, as long as the 'skill' is related to programming I am not getting into any pissing matches over what does and what does not belong.

To be honest I have become somewhat disenchanted with this thread, and I've been considering lately whether we ought to keep it stickied or not.

I doubt anyone "uses" it. People see if and think "Hey, I want my stuff listed," and that's the last they think about it.

If it has value I think it lies more in the sampling of who and how many use this and that technology. It's like a poll, without the convenient format .

I'm a .Net developer (4 years professional experience) with a SharePoint 2007 specialization. I've developed pretty much exclusively for SharePoint 2007 since it came out. My skills mostly revolve around the core pieces of SharePoint and integration:

- C#.Net (3.5)
- Forms Based Authentication
- CAML
- BDC
- Enterprise Search
- Some InfoPath
- XSLT
- Javascript

Before SharePoint 2007, I developed for MCMS 2002. I'm a little rusty on MCMS, but if you need help, I doubt there are many other people on the forums that have heard of it.
