Would have rather seen the Noles play against Ohio St., since I think FSU has a better chance of winning that game. Also it would have been a chance to get some revenge on Urban Meyer. Oh well.

I like Auburn's coach a lot, and it should be a good game. I'm hoping FSU's defense can force some turnovers. Jameis didn't look his best tonight against Duke.

I don't know if they are or not, but I certainly felt they had a better chance of beating OSU than Auburn (even before the games tonight).

I'd put Michigan State up against any team in the NCAA right now, and I'd be surprised if the odds makers put them down more than 3 points.

State lost their only game early in the season, when they still hadn't even picked a quarterback. Even then, that loss required FIVE pass interference calls. Even the Fighting Irish fans admitted it was BS.

Ohio state didn't get revealed as a fraud. They got beat by a team that just hit its stride a couple weeks ago, has the #1 defense in the country, and should be rated in the top 5 by the end of the year.

Anyway, FSU has just as good, if not better, defense than MSU (better scoring defense, better pass defense, better passing defensive efficiency):

Going up against Auburn's ridiculous rushing attack is going to a treat. Plus FSU was the 2nd-highest scoring team in the FBS, with one of the best aerial attacks, so we all should be in for one hell of a game. Granted, that is if the insane month layoff doesn't affect each team (which it will, like always).

So true, unless you count milder overall climate, lower taxes, cheaper energy costs, fewer intrusive regulations (for the most part), less regulation of weaponry (try owning a pistol in MA), cheaper housing costs (1700 sq. ft. house, built in '02, with 3 acres of land for $74K...a price that'll barely get you a 20 year old single wide trailer w/o land on Cape Cod), etc., etc.

Every section of the country has its pluses and minuses. But to dismiss the South as anything but a redneck haven is just sheer and willful ignorance.

As an Ohio State fan living 30 miles north of Columbus, I concur. I don't necessarily believe they're outright frauds, but they're not a top 5 team and the B1G is weak as shit. I'm sick of fans defending it.

I said at the beginning of the season that the moment someone realizes we have no secondary aside from Roby, it will be exploited. Michigan figured it out last week and MSU built on it this week.

The offensive playcalling was atrocious, too. Meyer is supposed to be the bringer of the west coast offense, but we ran 3 plays last night: 1) Miller runs the ball, 2) Hyde runs the ball, 3) Miller throws a wild prayer down field. What about some dink/dunk? MSU was sending the house left and right... why not try a few 5 - 10 yard slants?

Anyway, I actually do think OSU and FSU would have been a competitive game, but FSU would have won. I think Auburn is going to handle FSU, though.

I thought Ohio would be easier to defeat, but hopefully this will be a good game (with FSU coming out the winner.) Winston did not have a stellar game and still was 19/32 for 330yds, 10.3yd avg with 3 TDs and 2 interceptions.

I wouldn't call OSU frauds, just a product of a Big 10 that's still weaker than the SEC, which was in a down year. (7 out of 14 SEC teams are top 25 ranked vs. 3 out of 12 Big 10 teams are top 25 ranked.)

Of course, you could point out that OSU almost got their first loss from Michigan, an unranked team that played them almost to a standstill and hung 41 points on OSU, but never mind that. Or that OSU only played 3 top 25 ranked teams this year (only one ranked in the top 10, MSU), while Auburn played 6 top 25 teams (four of which were ranked #7 or higher when Auburn played them), losing only to then #6 LSU in LSU in week 4.

One could point out OSU's strength of schedule was rather weak, while Auburn's was at or near the top of degree of difficulty, but ignore that, too.

OSU was simply a product of its conference, and in that wasn't surprising that they got themselves kicked to the curb by Mich State. Honestly, I was surprised that Michigan didn't beat them last week, given how the game played out.

C'est la vie....FSU will provide a game against Auburn, probably to ultimately lose. Auburn's defense isn't really great, but Auburn's running game is intense and has been steadily improving all year.
