I was running the Audigy with 8K7A on XP and it was working great till I started watching films and it all went down hill from there.
Got a SonicFury (or Santa Cruz in US) and I did notice the sound quality was not as good as Audigy and no way near as 'Full'......
Anyway, my SonicFury is giving only slight pops on certain mp3s which is very annoying. I will play around with the PCI latency in BIOS to see what happens.

Really? What happened? I'm running a 8k7a+ with my Audigy. Been playing movies just fine for me. I'm using PowerDVD 3.0 (with the latest WinXP update) which originally came with my old Herc GTXP.

Audigy works fine on my machine.... only one IRQ_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL error that i would get all the time with my Live!. Now this could be due to the fact that I have a 3C905b-tx. Kinda funny if that is why it runs fine on my kt7a-raid 1.3.

It just started popping & crackling randomly and it would go away for a while (think I reinstalled drivers - but can't remember) but it starting getting more frequent and would not go away. Tried different slots. It is a real shame as its a great card.
I am sure I had everything setup correctly. using Windows XP with standard VIA drivers.

Epox 8K7A+
Crucial PC2100
8500LE
Audigy on slot 5
USB port plugged in but not used
Antec SX840, voltage above 5v, plenty of cooling
Maxtor D740x & IBM 60GXP connected as Master/Slave on highpoint controller using latest driver
Plextor 16/10/40

I'm running Windows XP Pro on a clean install and my Audigy MP3 works as advertised. Music, games, DVDs. It's all good.
It may not be true in everyone's situation, but to my mind it's truly amazing the pitfalls one can avoid by simply grounding one's self while tinkering inside the box.
I suspect, since there are probably as many people with Audigy problems as those without, some folks get home from the parts store, kick off their shoes, and drag their feet across the carpet on their way to the computer. Then they (and I don't mean everyone of course so calm down) open the sound card box to admire the new toy without concern as their fingers touch countless contacts and electronic components. After turning off the computer, and unplugging it (which means IT'S no longer grounded) they start reaching in to remove the bane of their existance. The old sound card! I could continue but I'm sure you know where it's going and I'm starting to bore myself.
The point is, if one takes the proper care and follows reasonable instructions, he or she might realize they do a lot less thinking about what they might have done wrong to cause a problem. After all, most computer problems ARE due to human error. You may want to think about that a bit before saying I'm wrong.

I quite agree with you jcmoran.
If one of you guys had my PC it would probably work fine.

I have noticed VIA released a new RAID patch which I will give a go. I am using the Highpoint controller for my HD, even though it is not related.

My PC just doesn't seem to be reliable and god only knows what could happen next!!!

<< Sharma said that, so far, "less than 50" calls have been received by the Oklahoma technical support facility, >>

Yah, that's because they only answer 50 support calls per year at Creative. Nice excuse.

running SB Live 5.1 in my MSI K7T266PRO2 box, works fine in WinME, but had some crackling noises in WinXP, fixed it with driver update, seems to work fine now. I had this card for about a week, hope everything stays this way.
