i took about 80 cell phone pics , cheap celestron telescope projected onto a piece of copy paper
turned out better than i had expected, especially the sunspots
cut down to about 20, turned to black and white, angle adjusted, grass cropped
irfanview and gimp
north texas, 11:30am to 2:30pm

if i had planned ahead i would have used a mount for the phone attached to the paper backing and marked off where i should point the telescope because editing random angles and stuff out of the sides sucks.

2024 one should be interesting. 81% coverage here. I need to make sure to upgrade my optics by then. My shots this year were kinda sub par.

I'll be pretty well situated for the next one, if I stay where I am. Might want to drive east 80 miles for full effect.

Looks like St. Louis will luck out again next time.

It may be worth it for me to travel for next one, I'd avoid the big cities like the GTA, but some of the smaller towns in Quebec might be viable. Something I'll have to consider when time comes, otherwise 80% is still pretty good.

Actually any good footage of the effects during a full? Like has anyone managed to pickup the snake shadows or anything like that? I imagine it's pretty hard to capture though.

97.5% coverage here in TX next time. And only a 2-3 hour drive to over 4 minutes of totality, much more doable.

They precalculated an area where it would transit and prepped ahead of time and their math was dead on.

Never really thought of it but an ISS transit only last's like not even a second so pretty crazy they caught it.
