P.S. The LG Optimus G is $599 up here. Ugh! It's supposedly only lightly skinned, but I don't want to deal with the OS update delays. OTOH, it has full and sanctioned LTE support, and better power management settings.

Bought a Note 2 from AT&T instead. I wasn't eligible for an upgrade untill next august but they gave me a partial upgrade ($399, activation waived). Decided that I wanted LTE, bigger battery, and the bigger screen.

separate servers. i bet if they offloaded Nexus purchasing to their main play store servers it would've been ok. or better yet offload it to their standard search servers. the hit in server activity would've been negligible compared to the amount of search data going through.

Hey now. I remember that Gold Box deal with an XBox 360 for like $100? or was it $200? back in like 2006 or something. It was either Black Friday morning or Thanksgiving. Server totally died.

Decided to score the one that was in my cart using Auto Refresh Plus extension in Chrome. I was emailed an order confirmation an hour ago.
I had been clicking once every 20 minutes prior to using that but gave up. It makes me feel a little dirty inside having to buy it using what script kiddies do rather than through conventional means.
Not sure why I didn't do it 2-3 weeks ago because I clearly could have.

My mom is on T-Mobile Classic family plan. Hopefully this will arrive before Christmas so she can move to the Value family plan.

I got mine on launch as a fluke, pretty much only refreshed the page like 3 times and it worked.

This is hands down the best android phone ever. I don't care how bad the fucked the launch up. I was ready to jump ship to WP8, but this has put me firmly back in the android camp.

I still miss WP7.5 txt to voice thing though

i've played with my friend's GS3 extensively and it's damn fine phone. Better to is defined by:

Do I crave latest and greatest Android?
Do I crave LTE?
Does carrier and MFG overlay bother me?

Personally, after owning a Nexus 7, I want a Nexus 4.

come on. if you want it, why not? it's like the days after iPhone launch. Delivery is 4-5 weeks.

except I guess Apple moves 5 million in a weekend and then has to delay the rest. not to mention you could still try to pick one up in store with pretty good odds.

Google probably moved 25000 units with another 200,000 backordered

I don't want it now. I wanted one at launch. Not now. If I was willing to wait, I would've kept my original launch order instead of canceling once it went to backorder.

I also wanted iPhone5 at launch. I was promised two iPhone5 for Friday launch day delivery. AT&T and Apple failed to deliver and I got one phone on Monday and other phone on Wednesday. I returned both phones to AT&T unopened and canceled my contract because they were couple days late.

I will likely never purchase anything from Google Play Store if I have the option to buy it elsewhere.
