I find myself quite often simultaneously killing someone and being killed by them. I'm not sure how I feel about this.

Yeah, happens very often to me as well, it is a bit odd.

New maps are out...er...unlocked. All the "new maps" are is the ability to play one or two of the Conquest maps in Rush and visa versa...unless there's something I'm missing.

This is due to bullet travel time. Now, I don't think bullets travel on a real-world scale; they slow them down a bit presumably to make the effect a little more noticeable. This is why two people standing 10 feet apart can kill each other. I'll take this over the coin flips that occur in MW2 when two people square off.

As I said in the PC thread for BC2, calling old maps with new game modes a "Map Pack" is laughable. A "Map Pack" is something you download that has new textures, new terrain, and a new !@#$ing name .

I think it goes beyond just travel time, it seems more like a lag issue or something. I know about travel time but I've been killed and hit an enemy two times after being dead only to see him die.

It also takes time for the two clients to send the data to the server, the server to process it, and the server to update the clients. Due to the netcode architecture of DICE's games (described above), you'll see this effect from time to time, even though in actuality you were firing at each other at the exact same time. Bullet travel time compounds this.

True, the bullets do seem to travel almost as slowly as the Gears of War bullets.

Yep, even if you are revived, it counts as a death. It shouldn't for those idiots that continually revive you when you are being shot to death.

So...I hate the Thompson. I decided to use it to try and get a bronze start with it. I was so proud, I got like 10 kills with it in one match!!

Unfortunately BC2 decided not to count those kills, it still says I have 0 kills with it.

Did get my bronze star with the G3 and M14 though.

Yeah, the stats for the Garand and Thompson are messed up. All my Garand kills are listed as M1A1 kills, which is the Thompson, but it says I have no Thompson kills even though I have used it a few times. So I have a M1A1 gold star even though it says I have no kills with it.

So THAT's why my M14 kills were so high! I knew I didn't have that many kills with it yet on my stats it said I had 48!

Can anyone help me?
I try to play BC2 online and cant because when i try to it says my profile does not have permission to play...I have to put my email address and password and then submit but it comes up that i dont have permission.I looked at parental controlls and they're alright so any suggestions?
(it was the same with the demo)

Hrm, that is really odd. You're sure you have the correct EA name/password entered? If so I'd try contacting EA.

Yeah everytime i try it has my email adress ready...it also has would you like EA updates to your email adress....i even registerd to EA online.Hmpf i guess i'll keep trying because it seems to be good online.

any huge advantage to using the tracer dart? help deal more damage or anything?

If you can hit a tank or helicopter with a tracer dart any shots fired from an RPG or M2 will automatically track to it. Hitting a chopper is tough though.
