The biggest complaint has to be the start up screen. It's so fucking annoying that I want to shoot the person who thought it was cool. I also hate the aiming right now. I have to have the sensitivity turned down very low otherwise I'm shooting everywhere but where I want. You barely move on the analog stick, and it moves too far over.

PS3 or 360?

I'm betting that's a user issue. I'm on 360 and have my sensitivity set to about 50% and it works well for me.

The campaign for MW2 was shit. Good gameplay, but the story was bad.
CoD BO actually had a decent story.

MW1 story was good. MW2 was just retarded. I enjoyed the black ops story a lot even though the entire gameplay was funnel like BF3 (although I havent finished it).

So I got Bf3 for the 360 and try to redeem my online pass. I'm told the code that came with the game is invalid. I call Origin support and get a new code after spending an hour on the phone. That code does not work either. Origin's solution? Get a new code from the retailer I purchased the game from. How does that make sense?

My only complaint is the fact that I only see how to set my classes for the US side. I don't know how to set up my class for the defenders at the main menu.

Alright so I can't figure out if I like this game or not. I want to like it, I want there to be competition for MW3.

First off, I don't like vehicles. I know a lot of people really like having vehicles in this game, but I freaking hate it. The jet/helichopper are worthless. It's so hard to actually hit anyone while flying those things. Maybe I just suck... but I watch a lot of people just randomly flying around not doing anything. The tank/humvee are obviously effective, almost to effective. Any map that is vehicle heavy just ruins it for me. All I see are a bunch of tanks doing battle with each other. I'll shoot it with 3 rockets and it still doesn't kill it. *shrugs*

The gameplay outside of that is pretty good. I like the weapons, although I haven't unlocked a whole lot yet. Perhaps I need to play more often with people I know instead of in random games?

All in all though, I'll probably buy MW3 when it comes out and I doubt I'll play BF3 much after that.

Keep playing, get your foregrip and heavy barrel etc. on your weapon and it gets better.

Tanks are definitely way too strong. Their survivability needs to be adjusted. I've become decent at flying helos. Spend time as a gunner so you can rack up points to get your IR flares...then you'll have the defensive capability to survive longer and learn to fly.

I almost never get in the jets since I haven't unlocked either missiles or IR flares, and strafing just doesn't get any kills.

I'd like to say splash damage needs to be increased for several weapons, like the mounted .50 cals, for a little more realism. But then they'd probably be too overpowered.

You dont need missiles on jets. They are actually weak IMO. I strafe run with the cannon and rip tanks apart. They suck against infantry though.

Tanks are not bad at all if your team is competent. A few well place rockets should disable them. The .50 on the tank is way too weak. It takes a lot of direct hits to kill someone.

I've had a lot of fun playing TDM. It's not too campy and it's usually easy to find the ones that do camp, sneak up, and massacre them. I had a pretty good game with the shotgun too. Put on Sprint specialization and flank them.

How are the other game modes? I haven't tried those yet. I dread the camping :/

I have no idea how to level up jets. Finally got use to the trick of using 3rd person view to look around for a target then 1st person when aiming though it seems hella hard to aim. I usually get shot down quickly with missiles launched at me since I haven't ranked up jets yet or if I do get behind another jet, I put a couple of bursts into it and it doesn't die, so I still have 0 points. Jets are a pain in the ass.

Tanks are pretty strong. I used the AA tank for the first time yesterday and tore through a whole bunch of stuff.

I finally finished the SP, and it was a big pile of meh for me. Nothing really grabbed me. And I have grown to hate a couple maps on Rush. I have yet to try TDM though.

I cant believe anyone bought this game for single player. The single player disk hasn't left it's sleeve yet and most likely never will. Battlefield (and CoD for that matter) have never ever been good single player games and never will.

I'm playing multiplayer only on the 360 and have had nothing but joy! Pure unbridled joy that I have not felt playing a game for a good 3 years at least. Yes it's only 24 players but they have done a great job of scaling the maps. Most maps are dominated by how well the infantry does with any help from vehicles being an added bonus. This is EXACTLY how it should be! Tanks etc are not hard to take down at all once you level up engineer a bit. Seriously a couple of AT mines does the trick, occasionally requiring an RPG to finish the job. Easy to do solo, super simple with any form of coordination with team/squad members.

Normally I only play engineer type classes, but I am in fact enjoying all the classes, they are all useful in their own way. Honestly apart from the initial load on EA's servers and yes that you can't quit without going to dashboard, I really think its an awesome game. Well-balanced (though that could change when everyone has unlocked all the kits), awesome visuals, amazing sound and a gritty feeling to it all. Best of all is the smoke! After an intense firefight around a flag, visibility is down to almost nothing with flaming reckage and smoke behaving in a realistic way ... the last game that felt this real was that Delta Force game which had 120 players per map (forgot its name).

In a year or so when the PC version becomes super cheap I'll probably buy that too, but right now all my friends are on the XBOX version which I was unsure about after the beta, but I have zero regrets now apart from the lack of sleep resulting from the game

SP was pretty bad, I was playing it when the servers were down and then couldn't even do that when servers were down again.

i must be the only person who is enjoying the SP

I enjoyed the SP but I wish they had spent a little more time with it. I ran into a lot of bugs that weren't gamebreaking but annoying or required a mission restart. I had issues with the last bombing run on the jet mission, for example, where I killed the guys required but just kept circling in the jet until I finally gave up after a few minutes. Other times, all the sound would cut out except for ambient noise such as wind or rustling papers. The sound would normally come back in after a few seconds but at one point was out for up to a minute before coming back in. I ran into spoken audio tracks being replayed over and over until I reached the next checkpoint and the last guy in the last co-op mission being invisible (seen this on more than one occassion).

My other issues were with the brain-dead AI. They spent all of the processing power on graphics and left nothing to making your enemies at least somewhat smart. They were always either running directly at you or taking cover where you could still easily hit them. None of the individual battles felt unique, they all really played out the same. The QTE's were also pretty bad. I don't mind a random QTE here and there, but the ones in BF3 mostly didn't make any sense.

Regardless of all that, I still enjoyed it. The story was good and I liked the style of telling it. I enjoyed the between-mission interrogation and then essentially playing out the story as it being told to the interrogators. The graphics and sound were both phenominal throughout. The gunplay overall felt really good, too. Everything that matters the most to me is there.

I thought how the Campaign was laid was pretty good, I like the concept of the story, however I really really f'ing hated the ending.

Seriously, you're chasing a guy that has a fucking nuke, and you smash his head in with a brick to end the game, that's just pathetic IMO.

On another note, I didn't think I would like Rush (never played BC2), but I found it to be more enjoyable than Conquest, mainly because the action seems to be more centralized, instead of random dude killing me on the outskirts of the map while I'm trying to find a good vantage point.

Oh, and the 870MCS does work on Rush, especially when the M-Com is inside a building like on Operation Firestorm.

Urrggh - as EA was down for a while when I went home for lunch... I reluctantly threw in the SP disk.

GOD FUCKING AWFUL!

Seriously, after you 'cut the wire' and go back to the street, there are actually bad guys that are for decoration only! After killing the rest of his mates I put 3 full magazines of the M249 into him and he didn't even flinch. Stood in front of his bullets (he was firing all the time) and nothing damaged me.

I thought this was just a bug, till I moved a bit further and found 2 more. Eventually when I moved to the waypoint, they just vanished.

The hand to hand shit - I wanna puke
The constant rails nature of it - I wanna puke harder
The AI on hard level - laughably easy, so much so that I wanna eat the puke from above and then puke it up again.

Still MP is freaking awesome

Damn, that sucks... means somebody guessed both codes that they tried to give you. Wow.

been playing MP more and its very fing fun,. much more fun then i remember any of the previous BC games being. my KD sucks but i get a crap load of points for playing game modes correctly so it still works out for me.

my only gripe right now is that if you enter a game grouped with some buddies there is no gaurentee you all end up on teh same team

too many times to count 1 or 2 out of the 4 people would get placed on the other team due to balance issues and its near impossiable to jump to the other side.

Scoring points by doing more than just killing people is pretty easy. A few times while sniping on Operation Firestorm, I went like 7-0 but had the highest score on my team just from spotting, kill assists, suppression assists etc.

As far as keeping your friends together, I think EA or Dice did a write-up on how to make sure that all 4 of you stay together. Are you creating a squad before trying to join a game? Plus they said that you want to make sure that the server you're searching for has 16 players or less, to make sure that it can support all 4 of you.
