Michael McKean, who previously guest starred on an episode of Odenkirk's Mr. Show, joined the cast,[27] portraying Saul's brother Chuck.[4] Other characters who have been cast include Patrick Fabian as Hamlin, Rhea Seehorn as Kim, and Michael Mando as Nacho.[4] Two currently uncast characters are simply described as "twin skateboarders" named Zak and Luke.[28]
Even aside from the natural odds on spinoffs, and despite the fact that I really liked the character on BB, I just have a fail feel about this.
hopefully he'll have better success with this than the xfiles -> lone gunmen spinoff
IGN.com said:Breaking Bad composer Dave Porter will score the spinoff TV show Better Call Saul.
Porter, who scored all 62 episodes of Breaking Bad as well as the theme song, is set to return for Better Call Saul, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Breaking Bad creator and Better Call Saul co-creator Vince Gilligan called Porter "an irreplaceable member of the Breaking Bad family," adding that he "cant imagine doing our new show without him."
In addition, Porter was part of the team behind the Better Call Saul music video, working with Adam Dornblum on the track. Junior Brown is the performer for the Better Call Saul song, with lyrics by Gilligan and the spinoff show's co-creator Peter Gould.
Better Call Saul is set to premiere in February, with AMC already renewing the TV series for Season 2.
I cant' wait. Hope it's a good show.
Cautiously optimistic for this show.
I really want it to be good. I like Saul and there are some talented people involved, so the elements are in place. The biggest stumbling block is the legacy of Breaking Bad, that was so good and the fans so zealous that almost anything this show does is going to seem 2nd rate in comparison. Even if it's very very good a lot of people are going to say "not as good as Breaking Bad, blech...."
