*** Official Black Friday Sucks Thread ***

Got to Best Buy at 2:30am. They were out of tickets for the 19 in Samsung LCDs by the time they got to me. Luckily someone near me found a ticket for the 19 in LCD on the ground and gave it to me.
My brother got the westinghouse 22" lcd and I must say the picture quality isn't all that great.

I think this is the last Black Friday I'm going to. I'm not going to stand in line for 5+ hours.

I didn't get the tv I wanted, but then I found out I can get it on the BB website through tomorrow for the BF price. When I went by BB, I got free donuts, and when I went by Sams, I got free biscuits, ham/egg/cheese biscuits, orange juice, sweet rolls, and breakfast pastry (passed on the free bagel). Free food FTW.

considering when I went to best buy at 3am there were already over 200 people in line, and i wanted one of those $250 laptops, i turned my ass right around and went to sleep. no way in hell i was going to get one.

also ... are there any other deals remotely close to the $250 lappy that was offered at BB? Online or B&M? The next closest one I see is the Dell $499 laptop, but atm, that is pushing it.

waited 4 hours in line. about 150 ppl ahead of me.

when the doors opened at 5 am.. about 60 ppl rushed from the parkinglot.

I cant let my efforts die in vein. I punched my way through

got 2 22" westing house and a dvd-r.

checked out at 5:10.

got home at 5:30.


came to work on time

I didn't go, but I remember when I used to work there, we used to be at work at 4 am and there would already be a line of 100 people outside. The lines would be going to the back of the store until about 1 in the afternoon.

I was the 18th person in line (got there at 9 PM).....then suddenly....line cutters. :disgust: Then some brigt fellow had an idea to yell "rush" at 2:30 AM (doors wer enot even open yet), then everybody began to rush to the door while I was napping in my tent. everyone who was in the front was jammed to the middle of the line. I ended up being the # sixty something in the store. I am happy that I got the camcorder i wanted, but it just pissed me off that people just cut and Best Buy did nothing about it. Everyone in teh front was about to start a riot, but the employees did not care.

BB is Framingham, Ma sucks. Never again will I go there for Black Friday.

yeah my dad went to BB this morning to get one of the surrond systems on sale. he was #5 in line and they were sold out! WTF he was pissed off.

the 4 in front were buying other stuff. yet they were sold out sheesh.

I didnt bother checking. After reading the horror stories about best buy lines forming and after watching the news covering black friday, I said the hell with it.

Im leaving work in a few minutes, and Im heading straight over to the COlumbia BB. The only thing I really want is the 22inch LCD. I'll let you guys know how it is.

What time did you get to BB and about where were you in line?

I got there around 1:30am in the rain, was about 50th in line. That's why I don't have any remorse about the people bitching and moaning.

At 6am, the line was stretched for probably a mile. I give the local PD and Best Buy staff lots of credit for dealing with the line jumpers, and keeping everything organized so there wasn't a mob scene.

Huh? Wtf are you talking about? Nobody forced me to be there. I'm a night person anyway, usually don't go to bed until 4'ish on a normal given night. I was very comfortable in my chair, parka, and umbrella. I didn't get wet, and I passed the time watching dvd-r's that I needed to catch up on. Plus, my current Sony CRT monitor is on it's deathbed. Even if this monitor lasts less than a year, it's only $200 that I won a few days ago from Foxwoods casino. I don't see where my time and comfort were compromised as you say. :roll:

Yea, we used to do a free for all the first couple years. But in my last year we started using a ticket system and asking the people in line what they were waiting for and give them a ticket.

But I have to admit, it was quite amusing watching people run over each other. They deserved it, they were the reason we had to get up at 3am. And then you would get the idiots who complained about the line, well then come back tomorrow buddy.

Apply for a Microcenter credit card and get a $100 rebate with any purchase of $399 and higher.
