He buys early and returns it and rebuys it, WTH.. How does this accomplish anything? Why in the hell would one buy something, return it and buy the same sh!t agian? Who says that he'll get money back from returning it and getting it agian... what about those deals with rebates???

Its official, I hate the Best Buy in St. Cloud, MN

Well, I will not be shopping there again on this day, unless they do something to secure the line waiting outside in the morning.

Today we showed up in line at 12:30am, me and my 2 buddies, and there were at most 25 people in front of us. Well, all went okay, until around 4:00am, when they started hanging out the vouchers for the laptop and desktop computer. Everyone behind us, budged out of line and rushed up to the front and reached forward for a flyer. And of course there was no rope nor security people to prevent them from doing so.There were about 70 people huddling around them desperately reaching for a voucher.

The employees got pissed and told a few to head back. But most of them stayed there up at the front of the line. It was after this that they finally set up a rope.
We moved up to where the people who were in front of us were, but yet there were still about 50 people in front of us (double the number of when the night started).

So yeah, I didnt get the laptop and many people around me didnt get what they had waited patiently for either. So much for 4 hours out in the cold, when a massive croud budges.

Then, the people giving out the vouchers were just plain idiots, they gave out stacks at times, and told them to pass them around to others.

Also for the 5.0 megapixel camera, the people inside the store screwed up, and started handing them all out to anyone regardless of whether they had a voucher or not. One of my buddies almost got screwed over (he got one of the last ones)
So yeah, there are probably a ton of people with vouchers who didnt get digital cameras, due to best buy's stupidity.


Well at least I bought some small Christmas gifts for some people, and kept my friends company while we were freezing in line. Otherwise the trip would have been a complete waste.

2. Massive budging occurs, Best Buy employees dont do crap, except give the budgers vouchers. at around 4:00 there are over 50 people in front of us now.
3. Best Buy doesnt even honor vouchers for the cameras, but just gave them out first come first served.
4. Best Buy employees show a major lack of competence.

some stupid lady punched my friend ashley into the face because the customer behind ashley were pushing people and she got pushed into the lady in front of her. So the lady punched her, but ashley call the police and filed charges against the lady.

the Best Buy in the Landamrk Center in Boston has no people at 3 AM...so i got thinking, "Dam, no one is at Best Buy, that means no one should be in Natick....Bad Mistake. I got to BestBuy at 3:30 and the line wasa around 50 deep. That did not matter though as I did not really want the big door busters (I stood in line for that Aliens game It's fun)

At Office Depot, they had a price mistake on my headphones. They were supposed to be 37.40, but they rang up 34.99 + tax

DOn't get me started on Circuit City...dam...it felt like a rock concert in there. Last stores I went too was Walmart (bought Burnout 3) and Guitar Center (no Black Friday Sale).

Id was just watching the channel 7 news. They were just showing some store that open this morning with tons of people waiting at the door. As soon the store open, people were barging in. they were pushing people over and walking all over them. They said a 13 year girl got injured and had tobe taken to the hospital.

i bought a total of 4 hitachi 160gb sata drives from compusa.

i was about the 160th person in line. they allowed about 150 people go in first then waited about 5 mins before they allowed another group to go in. at first, the hitachi drives were cleared instantly the store was opened. i saw a guy put a hitachi 160gb back on the shelf and quickly grabbed it. 10 mins later while i was walking around the store, i looked at the box i was holding and noticed it said "parallel ata" rather than "serial ata". at that point, i was hearbroken. . i waited in line for 2 hrs empty handed. all of a sudden a compusa guy walks down the isle with a cart stacked with hitachi sata drives, about 4 rows of them. i quickly ran to him and my family and i grabbed a total of 8 boxes. we didnt have enough time to think so we just grabbed as much as possible. then we walked to the corner of the store and thought how much we really needed. i decided to keep 4 and put the rest back to the shelves. it was a glorious night and i got everything i wanted.

edit: anyone know how i should go about with the rebates? all 4 drives were bought seperatly (4 transactions). the ad did not say limit 1 person, but should i play it on the safe side and write 4 different names/addresses?

I ended up going to Meijers for myself. I got 2 laser levels for $9.99 and a Lite-on dvd recorder for $69.99....and I went in at 9:30. Only thing I didnt get that I wanted was the radar detector for $40.

They are when considering that the $400 laptops are going for $650 on ebay. Thats $250 profit, just for waiting in a line.

it really did get wild at walmart! although there were morons budging at best buy, thankfully it didnt get physical.

I dont know if they will be there on Sat but CompUSA put more 19" LCD (off brand) monitors out late Friday night, in the 77429 area. Only 200 dollars!

Well that sucked. The only big store in town was a Super Wal-Mart. All of the others such as Sears and JCPenny are small limited stock stores. So I stayed up watching movies and got to the local Walmart at 5:05AM. The parking lot was packed and people were already coming out with 26" flat TVs. All I really wanted was a few USB thumb drives for $13.88. I got to electronics and grabed a $13.88 SD card to use as a spare, but all the good electronics were moved to sporting goods with a 40 person line in between! So I got in line and looked over the $3.88 dvds. All crap and full screen, no widescreen. The intercom said the $378 laptops were gone but everyone stayed in line. After 5 minutes I got pissed and went to toys. Got a Star Wars build your own lightsaber kit for the kids and a Trivial Pursuit for my wife. Made another stab at the USB drives without luck and checked out. Got home at 5:46AM, hid the gifts, took a shot of brandy and went to bed. Threw my sleep off for nearly nothing. I may drive up to Washington for the 1GB usb drives at Staples for $39.99 (AR) on Saturday.

I was pissed at Circuit City. They had all those cheap DVDs on sale, but I didn't bother to wait in line very early. Well, they had some of the movies left in the $8 bin (Harry Potter, Incredibles, Kingdom of Heaven) so I grabbed them. While sitting in line, I noticed they were all fullscreen. WHO IN HELL BUYS FULLSCREEN?? AAFES (military retailer) loves to buy fullscreen movies and sell them on launch day, probably because that's the cheapest thing to do.

Got to staples about 5am was quite alot of people.
Bestbuy was a mad house so went back to staples waited until store opened it was freezing cold here in dedham MA(20f)
Got me the netgear, maxtor harddrive some photopaper(which was one per person) had my sisters with me so we got 1 each
ALso got some dvd blanks from hp and playo will test them out later.
Spent 203.00 will get back 124 in rebates
My black friday was good.
The laptops were given out by number so they were all gone by the time i got there.
Had about 50 people in line.
They had alot of norcent 19" lcd, but I passed on that.
Circuit city was a madhouse and best buy was even more crazy had the line all the way back in the appliance section.
Staples did a rather cool thing they put the hd and dvd drive and netgear behing the cashiers, so when everyone ran to the computer section those items were not their, it was funny.
Well had a good bf2005 see you guys next year.
Met some good people helped me out by getting a couple items while i got soemthings for them.
