the nose is too soft... looks like a mazda 6
the roofline is uninspired. looks like it tries to drop down like a hatchback, then gave up
the sideskirt looks out of place
and the rear 3/4th... well...looks like a Hyundai

I wouldn't call it slow, but in any case I guarantee you that's a highly conservative estimate (as BMW is traditionally wont to do). I bet it ends up being 4.5 or less to 60.

Boy, I don't get this post at all. As far as I'm concerned the 3-series sedan looks like a Pontiac (not a good thing in my book), whereas the coupe looks really good.

IMO the current BMWs fall out in the following order, from best to worst:

1) 3-series coupe
2) Z4 coupe
3) Z4 roadster
4) "old" X5 (haven't really studied the new one)
5) 3-series sedan
6) 5-series (M5 is somewhat better than the other 5-series, but still ugly)
7) 6-series
8) 7-series
9) X3 (what an eyesore this thing is - one of the ugliest vehicles on the road IMO)

My list would be:

1) 7-series
2) 6-series - M6
3) 5-series - M5
4) 3-series - M3

I like some designs better than others, but I find them all attractive, even the X3. I like his "flame" design.

Yeah, they definitely toned down the aggressiveness. It does not seem nowhere near as planted as the E46 M3 does.
