All I have to say is this...
If you want AMD to pull through and (hopefully) build better processors and compete with Intel, then you have to support them and purchase their CPUs even if they are are not the cat's meow next to Intel. AMD needs CASH MONEY to get BETTER Engineers for better R&D. Period. If everyone runs to Intel because they can't get the same faps per second or gigglehurts than they can with AMD, then Intel will continue to dominate, charge high prices, and only release competitive products when they have to. Does anyone remember the first company to 1GHz? Intel was incrementally upgrading their CPUs by 33MHz if I remember. With new chipsets. And RAM. Because they could. We all have AMD to thank right now for being as competitive as they are. Lets see, AMD market cap 5 billion, Intel 150 Billion. Who has more money for engineers? At least AMD is trying to stay relevant, and on a shoestring budget. Most engineers are probably like baseball players are go to where the bling is. So, if anything, buy AMD for charity to give them some cash so they can keep Intel on their toes and prices down.
Given what I do with my system, there is still no compelling reason to give up my 955BE @ 3.8.
If I get the upgrade bug before Christmas, it looks like it will be a 2500k for me.
Any of these reviews have numbers for the FX 4100 or FX 6100?
It is quite sad how true this simple statement is.THey would have been better off tweaking the Thuban IPC, shrinking it to 32nm, and ramping up the clock by 15%.
Huh?

FX-8150 is pretty much a FX-4170 in games anyway, add at most an 400MHz OC and it will still barely match an i3 2100 while drawing much more power.
The numbers in this table speak louder than words. The performance of Bulldozer microarchitecture has become way lower than that of the previous-generation processors. The simplification of Bulldozer microarchitecture by combining a pair of cores into a single module with shared resources led to a significant (25-40% drop in specific performance compared with the previous-generation AMD microarchitecture. As a result, Bulldozer cores do not just work at half the speed of Sandy Bridge cores. In addition to that the performance of the Bulldozer processor module with two cores is even lower than that of a single Sandy Bridge core with enabled Hyper-Threading technology.
I feel i was punked. Literally. I went from 965BE to 1090t, with idea of Bulldozer upgrade in mind. Got a 990fx board. No way i go to bulldozer from my 1090t. Lateral move. Watch the FLOOD of AM3+ boards hit ebay and other classifieds.
Bulldozer appears to be faster at BF3 oddly enough:
Not Impressive. BD Fail
How do they expect retailers to sell these chips now???? I think Frys could get away with bringing back their cpu/motherboard combos but what about the rest??

I still believe the FX4xxx at $115 is the best performance/price when OCed for gamers and every day desktop jobs
You know when people playing games, they raise the resolution the higher they can and enable some filters too.
But i guess you play games with Intel 3000 at 800x600 no AA/AF
