I have no comment to this statement.

Today, I discovered a loadtime in the game other than the very first one! Oh noes! I had been so caught up in challenges that I hadn't bothered with any of the 'vs' modes (ie Racing). When you are online, you can create a race match basically placing a start point and an end point. It's really quite cool (and you get an achievement just for participating in your first race). You can place a cap limit on the class of cars you use, and even place checkpoints that drivers have to hit.

After you setup the match, it places you back in normal freeburn (no loadtime yet) then when everyone is set to go, you can "start race" and it launches everyone to the starting line, inducing the only real during game load, and allows you to pick a new car for the race, then the race begins.

After the race is over, you view a results board and drop back into freeburn (no load time) back in the car you were in before, but at the finish line.

I love this game, even with its tiny load time

I did my first 2 online races last night. Won the second one Sadly no one had cams so I didnt get any pics

I liked how when you start the race is shows the other racers, and some stat about them, like how many races won, how many online takedowns, ect. Then at the end of the race it makes fun of the losers. Who crashed the most, who took the longest route, ect.

Woot! I now have found all events, all drive-thrus, all smashes, and all billboards. I only have 3 jumps left, which I just cannot seem to find.....2 in the downtown area and 1 in palm bay (or whatever it's called). I'm going to try my damndest to find them on my own before resorting to help. I've put about 17 hours into the game so far, and I don't even have my A license yet . I think I just have 2 races to go on that one, but I'm really not worried about it until I find those remaining jumps. I just wish the jumps would give some kind of visual indication that you've already done them, like the smashes and billboards do.

The two cars I've gotten for the smashes and billboards are pretty awesome, although they both are speed cars, which I hate because of the boost technique. The one I got for the billboards is maxed on speed and boost, and it will falt get up and go. It really shows off how fast this game is.

Wow, all the crashes and billboards :Q I just found all the car parks and drive thrus... still missing ONE event though, not sure where that would be. Still on my Class B though as well as I've been doing a lot of screwing around online with people.

Game == Awesome

I decided to go ahead and get my A license last night, so I started this morning with 40 races to go until my Burnout license. After playing this morning, I'm about 10 events away from it. I've already decided I'm not even going to attempt to get the Elite license. I'll drive myself insane over 120 events. I get so pissed some times, but it's still fun.

I tried getting the "It's Showtime" achievement, but it didn't work for me. The descriptions states "Set a Showtime Road Rule East Crawford Drive". I beat the 700,000 showtime score that was "set" by the computer, and I also set a new time on the road, but I didn't get the achievement. Modeps, you are first on my friends list with like 2.7 million....I don't think I have to beat you, do I? I'd sure hope not, because I don't think Showtime is that fun, and I'm not playing it that much to get that high of a score.

I've still yet to find those other 3 jumps. I hope to hop online more to get some of those achievements.

I love achievements, by the way. They were made for this game, and luckily the achievements are really well done. I wouldn't have put nearly as much time into this game already if it weren't for the achievements.

EDIT: I forgot to add that I've learned to really, really hate the head start they give computer opponents. I think it's bullshit that the other cars get such a big lead at the start of the race. Not only do you have to deal with the wreckage they are causing in front of you, but I've lost a few races where I was coming up on the finish line only to have another car fly out of a side street and steal the win from me.

How do you know if you won a race already? I havent backtracked yet, but can you still race that again? Cause i dont want to re-race if I already won.

on the map, it will have a check mark if you have already won it.

Also when you stop at the intersection, the scrolling line at the bottom will tell you that you have already beaten it.

Does anyone else have a problem hearing other people on PS3 online? I have turned the VOIP up to 10 and the rest down to 2 and I still have trouble hearing most people.

I tried it again tonight, and I'm guessing that I looked at the wrong street score. I thought it was 700k, but when I looked again tonight, it was 1.5 million. I lucked out and was able to hit about 8 buses and end up with almost 4 million.

Earlier on tonight, I saw a bus and started a showtime just for the hell of it. I ended up hitting 16 buses and fell just shy of 10 million points.

I went ahead and finished up getting my Burnout license tonight as well. Now to get online and get some of those achievements. I'm trying to get the Takedown Rampage achievement, but I keep falling short. I got 8 in a row tonight before I wrecked. I'm assuming it's 10 that you need.

Off the top of my head, I've put 21 hours into the game and drove around 1,150 miles total so far.

So, I got my A license over the weekend. But, I have to admit. I did something that I havent done.....ever. I actually busted my controller.

I was playing through the last race before getting my A license and I baaaaaarley grazed a parked car right before the final stretch to the finish line and my car blow up into 17 million peices as I sat there watching the 45 minute slow-mo cutscene, and DJ Jerkoff told me about how cool his voice was, meanwhile the 7 other racers drove by by dead body--and that was it. I had had enough of the cheap shit that goes on in the game. I just lost it and twisted my controller making it snap, crack and then boom.

It sooo felt good, but was admittantly a stupid thing to do.

Thank goodness I have two DS3s on the way anyway, that were going to replace the thing. I've never had a game push me over the edge like that.

You should drive cars that are stronger... and learn to control your temper.

Got my burnout license last night. I'll casually work towards the elite one but I gonna try to find billboards, jumps, and gate smashes first.

I love this game.

I've wanted to break my controller a few times....this game is maddening sometimes. I always hate the "wrecks" were you don't even touch a car or concrete wall, but you still wreck. The slow-mo comes up and your car is grazing by, and not even as much of a spark spews out, but you still end up flipping down the street end over end.

This game is half luck, half skill, though, when you're driving that freaking fast.

I'm going to try and start working towards a couple of the online achievements next. I think if I try hard enough, I can get probably 90% of the achievements in this game, which would be a record for me (not counting those early sports game that had like 5 achievements).

Yea this game is definitely one of those "controller throwing" games. It drives me nuts sometimes but never enough to throw my controller...yet. I am totally tired of the wreck camera angles and wish you could control the wreck into the opponents or something like the previous burnouts. I'm only at 40% now and got the A license. Only 40 more races until the next one. yay

I picked it up over the weekend myself, and the only thing I wish it had was a restart option for the races/etc.

Yea, but it will be ultra annoying if you concentrate on burning routes. Not a huge deal though.

I dont know what it is, but racers (Forza, PGR, NFS) really really push my buttons. They infuriated me like no other game, heh.

But this game just pushed me over the edge. Ah well, can't wait for the DS3--I really like Runble. I remember when I played the demos of BP on both consoles. I played the PS3 verison first, and when I began playing it on the X360, the first time I felt the rumble it almost startled me. I'm glad I beat the game (got the class A license, not interested in the extreme whatever license).

Anyone know what it unlocks? Also, what happens when you get all the fences and billboards?

Yeah, it used to be hosted by Dartworth's free service, but it stopped and I haven't changed my sig yet.

As for the comment, you sound offended...

A restart feature would have been fantastic. It would be much easier to just start over and be warped back to the beginning of the race rather than have to drive halfway across the city to start over again.

Poor game mechanics aren't something you should ever have to get over. They should be fixed.

Nah, I'm not offended. I just think at first its certainly a shock because it is against the norm, but once you get used to the idea... it really isnt that bad.

Agreed. The only time I can see it becoming a chore is when you're nearing the end of the game and trying to complete all events for your Elite license. Constantly driving back to get those few events would suck.

I'm currerntly working toward my Elite license, but don't think I'll ever reach the end; I suck at stunt runs and doubt I'll ever finish them all. I think I've completed at most 5 stunt runs since I got the game. On one I got 660,000 points and I have no clue how. The timer ran out, I crashed and ended whatever combo I had going, and somehow I had a total of 12 multipliers. No idea what happened and I can't duplicate it whatsoever. The only one I can see getting is the one located near the airfield since there are so many jumps in such a small area.

Yep, its one of the unfortunate departures from the series. Burnout was fun to play at a friendly gathering of people and toss controllers around at each other. There's still my copy of Revenge for that though.
