Oh yeah on another note. I'm so glad they made it so easy to vote in my area. I mean who would have thought that there was a whole 1 location for some 60,000+ eligable voters to vote after a workday.

Sure there were other location but you wouldn't know it looking at the Elections Canada website that showed barely any poling stations for any area.

/lame

P.S. I'm only fuming cause I missed my chance to vote. I have to walk and the only poling station I could find was across town in some middle school I never heard of out near the sticks. Gee I'm so glad this election was so organized.

Let's hope the conservatives in Canada aren't as fraudulent as the conservatives in the U.S.

You're comparing them to the Dems, not the Republicans.

Canadian Conservatives are not the same as American Conservatives...no matter what the lefties up here claim...

Fear of becoming American runs rampant up here, the Prime Minister actually spent most of the campaign bashing the Americans, Bush and the Republicans.

Look no further than the Economist which is a fiscal conservative, and social liberal source; whom support Canadian Conservative Party and Kerry in the US.

we shall see, they're a pretty newish party in a lot of ways. They'll have a minority so they won't get a chance to do a lot (which could be good or bad). If they are smart, they will continue to solidify their position as a centrist party in order to be electible past this election. if they are stupid, they will go back to the crazy rightism, alienate most people and will once again be thrown out into the wilderness.

Win, yes, but, there will be another election in 2 years or less. 3 parties really hold the balance of power.... But it looks (as of right now) the NDP will be able to temper any Conservative legislation.

Doesn't seem like it. They're generally against abortion, gay marriage, for guns, for Iraq, etc. I imagine that they're also pro-Queen.

Please note that I'm not comparing them to the general perception of Republicans.

The conservatives ran a campaign in which they promised to spend all kinds of money, how is that fiscally conservative?
Also, need I remind you that Harper wanted to send our (pathetic) army to Iraq? His stance on abortions, gay marriage, and other subjects is anything but liberal.

Not that the Liberal party is any better. Face it, there are no worthwhile parties to vote for.

Harper's social stance is just as Liberal, if not more so than the most left UK parties.

Their promises are mostly comprised of much needed tax cuts, not massive spending like the Liberals and NDP are known for.

Well, we can look forward to that 30 billion dollar surplus turning into a balanced budget turning into a 30 billion dollar hole spent on a Canada-US war in Iran this year

Looks like Canada has a future! Congrats to the Conservatives for running the campaign they did. Let's hope the defeated Liberals work with the new government. From what I've seen so far, the NDP seem to be making that promise.

Reg Alcock battling for his career, so is Anne McClellan. No result yet from the riding between Hedi Frye and Svend Robinson.
