all 1600x1200.

i have some more, i'm getting to work on making a huge composite of the smoke plume to the east. the sun was directly opposite the view looking down the street.

these were taken about 30 minutes ago. sorry for the delay, but my batteries died on my last shot (stuck the lens out) and had to recharge them (i got no others in my house).. even then, that was only long enough to get them charged enough to bring the lens back in and get the pics off the camera.

EDIT: 7:56 PM according to my comp

i uploaded 6 more, pretty neat ones of the fire front at night (instead of smoke plumes during the day)

i'm using a halfway busted olympus camedia 2040 zoom, 2.1 megapixel. it's been with me for a long time

alright, that's all i'm gonna take tonight. i'm still working on getting the plume composite together, maybe i'll get that posted tomorrow. i'm not in any fear of losing the house right now, though.

hope any other san diegans are as lucky

here are some pics from a hill near my house.

quite a bit away from me as of right now. All but 2 of those pics are the direction of the Rancho Bernardo/Poway area for those familiar with SD county. One of them is of the smoke from the Ramona/Valley Center fire, another is just of the sun.

alright, my homes not in much danger, that pic makes it look more dangerous than it is, really, the smoke had been blowing bad over us because it's heavy, the winds kept it down and pushed it over us.

i hopped in my car and headed up to where the fire is currently, and it's closing on being out.

i'll see if i can convince my camera to take some more pics, but the batteries are dead, and arent recharging very fast.
