Shudder, That's great! Time hasn't been set, I'm probably going to be there at 10:00am to start setting things up. I can be there earlier if need be, and we will go until everyone leaves, whenever that is.
We don't have to vacate at any given time.

This will be at my workplace, and the only thing they ask is that we not connect to the network. We will set up our own. But depending on what you need Internet access for, I may be able to set an isolated PC up.

Thanks for the email invitation, but I just don't think I'm going to be able to make it. I just picked up a large contract on Thursday (now handling all PC, Network and Server support for my University's School of Education as well as School of Business which I already had), and that is going to take up more time than I have until Christmas!

I am new to Columbus and don't know many folks down here so I thought it would be a good place to start.

I'd Like to come. I haven't really posted in DC a lot, but I am on team Aanandtech...
I go to (and host small) LAN parties all the time, at least once a month or so.

I have Q2, Q3A, UT, and AOE2.

I can help set up if needed, I have a couple (3) extra 10bt NICs. I can bring 4-5 cables and a 5 port 10/100 hub/switch with uplink.

I also Have a dual 366@550 128MB I could bring for a server if needed. I can set up DHCP on it to make configurations easier.

As far as I am concerned it's open to any Anandtech people in or around Ohio, or even who want to fly in!

If you aren't a member of one of the Team Anandtech distributed processing projects, we may try to do a little recruiting. Hehe

I was going to use a Dual Ppro 200 as the server, but if you want to bring that bigger horsepower dually that would be fine.

I've got the hubs (actually have a 12 port 3COM switch I was going to use) and cables covered, GSmith is bringing a digital camera and USB TV Tuner. Games is where I am short, I checked with MrFluffy and we only have UT and Age of Empires as multiplayer, so that is the area I need help in the most right now.

I plan on being there at 10:00am and go until everyone is done, even into the wee hours and Sunday if need be.

If you want to stop by after work, I can give you a phone number/pager where I can be reached that day, so you can see if everyone got bored and split, or we are all having a blast so you can come on by and join in!

There are about 10 that have said yes so far, and the more the merrier!

As of right now could me in! (Need to check the schedule with the wife). I also live in the Columbus area so its not a big deal to get there. I will also bring my digital camera so we have twice the incriminating..umm...amount of photos. I have SOF but it would require everyone to have a CD key for installation. UT is cool with me, as I need the practice bad. I'll talk to my wife about making up a couple dozen chocolate chip cookies as well. She always makes more than I could ever eat anyways.

Sure sounds like a lot of fun ... first person shooting games and beer (hey, that was how we tested our network for any Y2K bugs back on January 1 ). I only live a few miles south on 270 from there but somehow I don't think my wife's gonna go for it but I'll give it a try (although I think I have a better chance of finding the key to RC5 on my Commodore64). You all have fun fraggin' each other and drink one for me.

Well, it's confirmed.. I've got reservations at Extended Stay America for both Friday and Saturday night! I'm taking off this Friday from work and will be driving in from Grand Rapids, MI(about 5 hours).
