Hmmm Carnegie Mellon University huh? I'm a sophmore in ECE there right now. Lets see, the food sucks here, the living conditions (dorm rooms and facilities) aren't that great. Our vacations are shorter than most other colleges and fewer. Oh and the school screws over every incoming class. They force everyone to live on campus and get the stupid outrageously expensive meal plan. But on the other hand, it's got some of the best ECE, CS research, classes, etc available.

<< Smacksmackums, die.

I got into UCBerkeley (spring term), UCLA, UCSD, UCD, UCI. Waiting on Stanford, even though I'm not going to get there even if I get in

I'm undecided, between UCBerkeley and UCLA. The fact that I got into the Spring term for Berkeley is keeping me from making a decision, since I miss half the year and I don't even get guaranteed on-campus housing. Any suggestions?

Go to a JC and take care of the harder pre-reqs in the Fall. Then try to get housing. Dorms suck anyway (unless you can pay premium)

I will be a transfer student in something like '05, closer than it feels to me, weird. Anyway though im going to school at the SRJC (SantaRosa, Ca) and want to get into Cal Poly San LuisObispo for Mechanical Engineering... I'll be some old fart for college standards by then though and still have a couple years left, bummer (22, im 19 now). My current other options that i would shoot for if is UOP ($$$! Private), SJSU, SFSU, and maybe something else but those were my top ones. I'll probably just keep trying to get into CalPoly though haha

I'll add mine, even though a bit late.

Duke: accepted
Vanderbilt: accepted (full ride)
UGA: accepted (almost full ride)
Emory: accepted
Harvard: rejected
Yale: rejected
Princeton: waiting, but can almost guarantee a rejection.

Who the hell gets into Harvard, Princeton, and Yale these days? I thought I had a decent shot at getting into at least 1 of them... oh well, Duke or Vandy will suffice

law school for me, but here goes:

Harvard: denied
Yale: denied
Stanford: denied
Berkeley: denied
UVA: denied
NYU: still waiting (even though I applied about 5 months ago)
Columbia: waitlisted
Georgetown: accepted

I'd go to Columbia if I were to be accepted there and at NYU, but for the time being I'm putting in my deposit at Georgetown.

I applied as an International student, so my acceptance rates dipped considerably; MIT dropped to a 3% admissions rate for internationals, and Cornell dropped to about 17%.

Anyway, as for me:

Cornell University: Accepted (with a letter of likely admission more than 3 weeks ago, indicating I was one of their "stronger" candidates)

Rice University: Accepted w/merit scholarship

Johns Hopkins University: Accepted

University of Texas - Austin School of Engineering (safety school): Accepted

Meh, I'll live. Now I have to decide where I want to go.
