Let me tell you, there are a TON of Kings fans in Portland, OR. First of all because they have a serious shot at kicking the Lakers butts. Second, because our team is a complete embarrassment since our owner canned Rick Adelman and then Geoff Petrie, who have made the Kings a contender.

Go Kings!

Bump.. for the only lakers thread that has posts in it.

Also.. there weren't a million threads sunday night when the lakers won by one and I'd say that was a bit more dramatic than tonight. Now there are a million threads commending the Kings, makes you wonder... is there doubt that the kings stand a chance? is it that big of a deal?

The Mavs and the Kings were the only two teams in the NBA who stood a chance against the Lakers.
To beat the Lakers, you need a top notch offense. Game 6 coming up, will the Lakers fall asleep the first 3 quarters again at the Staple center? If they do, I don't think a 4th quarter comeback will save them again.

Then again, those 3s just pop in like no tomorrow for the Lakers when their back is against the wall.

I want to preface this by saying I am a die hard Laker fan since I was a wee lad and maybe I was wearing Laker glasses during the game. BUT...

Shaq: 18 FGA, 1 FTA. The man made most of his shots on dunks but he was fouled on quite a number of them.

Vlade: Aside from the flops which I can deal with since it's become part of the game, for better or worse, every time he sets a pick for Bibby high post, he moves. Moving picks are illegal.

Webber: Moving pick to free Bibby for the game winning shot. Fisher's flop didn't help matters.

Stern: Flat out said to the Sacramento NBC sportscaster that it is in the NBA's best interest to have series go 6 games or longer.

I've totally lost interest in the NBA in the last 5 years, but I have this irrational hatred for Koby Bryant. Dunno why.

If you're a basketball fan you should be thankful for both of the conference finals series. For some reason I get the feeling that the finals won't be nearly as fun to watch.

True, the refs seemed to pocket their whistles a few times. Thats prolly 'home court advantage' bias.

Vlade: Aside from the flops which I can deal with since it's become part of the game, for better or worse, every time he sets a pick for Bibby high post, he moves. Moving picks are illegal.

Speaking of Rick Fox,....

Webber: Moving pick to free Bibby for the game winning shot. Fisher's flop didn't help matters.

Exactly, 'speaking of flops'....
Webber didn't step out tho, he was stepping forward toward fish. Not 'much' of an illegal pick, but either way, Fish wasn't gonna get around him anyways.

Stern: Flat out said to the Sacramento NBC sportscaster that it is in the NBA's best interest to have series go 6 games or longer.

Darn right it is, thats only being honest. Does that mean the refs are tilting the game because of it? No, because its tied 2-2, somebody's got to win.

Truth is the lakers svcked as a team the whole series. Samaki Walker isn't cutting it. Everyone's 3pt shooting is horrendous, prolly because they have to exhaust themselves on the defensive end more than they've had to in a long time. I'd hate to see a team thats playing that poorly advance, even though shaqs doing awesome.

Two words, and I've said 'em b4: Mike Bibby

Oh don't get me wrong, the supporting cast is playing like crap besides Fox today, and Horry in general.

Bibby is playing better than I thought and he's money on the J's.

The Lakers should fine Hunter everytime he shoots.

Fish looks like the guy we knew before he broke his foot.

SUCKmaki had two huge rebounds and free throws but he hurt us more than helped us throughout this series.

etc, etc

How on earth did they miss that travel by Bibby when he was standing right in front of the ref on the possesion leading up to the game winning shot? He stood there trying to gain his balance, takes a hop step, then another one and nothing called? Abysmal.

Sure it was a travel....the reason why it wasn't called tho was because the foul by Fox that caused it wasn't called.

I didn't watch the replay of that play but Bibby was bumped and that probably led to the steps so the refs swallowed the whistle. That's fine. Hell I would of prefered the call since the Kings were choking on the line!

LOL.

I tell ya, a couple big shots during a (unfruitful) comeback earlier in the series and he suddenly thinks hes a PTP'er.

Hunter lost all confidence last year with the Bucks in the PO's. He was terrible then and terrible now. Watch him shoot. His mechanics are just incredibly bad.

I think he peaked when he was in detroit - even before he was traded tho (wasn't he the first pg after isaiah, with big expectations?)

The lakers are paying dearly for not having gotten a solid backup center/pf that can score. They have no inside presense w/o shaq, offensively or defensively. I think they counted on KB being more dominant too, but you've got to give the kings (especially christie) and give the rotating defenses alot of credit. Kobe usually gets by his first man but rarely has gotten all the way to the hoop without needing to pull up early.

Anyhow tho, if the lakers hit a 1/2way decent amount of 3's, the writing would be on the wall for the kings.
