Found a legendary engram. Decoded it and only got 2 strange coins... oh well, back to grinding
You get them from breaking down guns, so it isn't hard to get them but yea probably a bug in the text.lol...I got my first decoherent engram and it game be a lv16 rare sniper rifle. I see what you mean about using items to upgrade. It takes weapon parts too. Although I think there's a bug with the game. It says in the material details that you can get weapon parts from the gunsmith, he doesn't sell them.
Scout rifle doing 219 damage is my main weapon. It also has explosive rounds that cause AoE damage. Also the game says "vanguard marks are earned most quickly by participating in strike playlists" what does "most quickly" mean? I don't see any other way to earn them. When I turned lv18 I had 4 but dunno from what.
I seem to be full of questions today. What is everyone's favorite main weapon? I'm finding the scout rifles to basically suck this time around after the 8% damage nerf across the board.

I can get head shots well, but when doing a strike just now my kill count sucked compared to people using auto and pulse rifles. I find I can pop heads just as easily with pulse rifles and kill stuff faster. I dunno...is it me you think? I love the scout rifle but I've been getting more kills, more quickly with a good pulse rifle.
Eh not sure, I'm mainly going for the weak spots and trying to deliver as much damage as possible, scout rifle seems the best for me because of the range and stability. Lets me drill shot after shot into the same weak spot without having to really compensate for recoil or anything like that.
Could just be you though
Yeah that's exactly what I do, but actual kill counts are way down for me when I use it. I suppose that shouldn't matter and the focus should be on dealing consistent damage at the right spot. I can drill the weak points with pulse rifles too though...meh.
Pulse rifles also got a pretty big buff so that might make sense, they might lower that in the next patch, will have to wait and see. I have two blue pulse rifles, a blue auto rifle, and a blue scout rifle. So I am prepared to switch it up if the occasion demands.
I also found that unlike the beta, buying items from the cryptarch doesn't increase your rank that much.
With the number of engrams you start getting during vanguard strikes and such, you will have no problem getting that cryptarch level up, I am almost at rank 4.
I got a blue from a purple engram, it happens. Just gotta get lucky.I just wish decoherent engrams wouldn't give uncommon gear like the regular ones. I don't mind if it gives me upgrade items sometimes...just not green gear from a blue emblem heh
Yeah they save progress. If you do the one for the 5 hive ultras or majors for example, and kill 2 it will remember next time you log in how many you need.Do pve bounties save progress if you log out? Also how many missions are there ?
I feel like some of them may require a team because they come with waves of enemies surrounding you most of the time. Unfortunately I only level up one level each chance I get to play. I notice it's much harder to get better weapons this time around and it takes longer to level up than it did in the alpha/beta.

I Solo'd everything launch night and finished by that afternoon, might start my titan play through and find someone or 2 to play with though.Did you solo the story or did you team up with someone? Just curious if I should try to go solo or if it's hard enough toward the end that I'll really want to have help.
