Honestly though, I'm not gonna really hate on it. I enjoyed much of the raids and getting certain gear and such, and even the pvp was pretty solid. It's not as bad as haters make it out to be, but definitely could've been Epic.
wow destiny is really pissing me off.
been sitting at 5.730/6.some gigs downloaded for 2 hours.
it claims that it's started downloading again, goes down to 5.725 gigs downloaded, gets up to 5.783 gigs downloaded, stalls again, and goes right back to 5.730.

Just read the first few pages of this thread again... the lulz. This game is nowhere near what we all expected.
This made me go reread it as well.. mostly was correct about the game play. It was really off on the map sizes and things to do. Even more amusing were the people defending the lack of content on the game. There was a quote of Bungie where they said the game really doesn't start until you reach level 20. I'm not sure what game was starting as even at level 30 it was still the same missions/strikes/raids or crucible levels over and over and over.
If by game play, you mean gun play, then yes. The gun play and mechanics are mostly great. The game play itself though, has been the exact same stuff over and over. Yeah that "game doesn't start til 20" was a load of utter BS. Other than unlocking higher level strikes, again, exact same stuff over and over. Meh, my friends still play sometimes, so I still do sometimes.
Actually most of the loot is lv20 so it was the truth.

The loot really didn't impact the game that much. It made some kills simpler but it didn't suddenly cause you to play differently. It did jack all for the tasks you had to do, or the crucible... maybe (big maybe) during Iron Banner, but even then I didn't notice much of a difference.

It most definitely helped for nightfall and raid.
The loot was the hook and draw of the game, so it does make a huuuge difference in the weekly strikes and raids. The difference between having an ice breaker and not having one is massive or having a helm that allows for health regen from orbs and such.
I put hundreds of hours in the game, and mostly don't regret much of that at all. I had lots of fun playing with and meeting new friends. Only crap I hated really was the grind to level crap up.
I think Destiny is going to pickup again once HoW comes out.
All VoG weapons will be upgraded to 365, which means it will entice players with Fatebringer/VoC to come out and play.
There is sudden surge of players on VoG already. Players have reason to run VoG and CE with this upgrade path to 365.
I think the time sink is their goal. That's what this entire game is.
I don't think I could come back unless there is something major that makes a huge difference to the loot pools. Getting ascendent shards and coins from nightfall 4 weeks in a row was the last straw.
