One of my real life friends is a Destiny addict yet bitches about it all the time. He swore he was done with the game and moved on to MGS but sure enough he has been playing it non stop this week.
while some aspects of it would be great on a PC with a KB/Mouse. some of the wonky jumping/floating would also suck to control

I only purchased 1 head erngram and lucked out I guess it also rolled pure int which is nice. I think it was 2 weeks ago I gambled on it and got "The Ram" on my first go as well
So any advice or perhaps know of a good quick guide for a new player? I've not played since beta so of course I didn't do much then. Now level 8, about to do the Devils House strike, and mostly been doing story missions at this point.
Destiny doesn't exactly do the best job of explaining everything. Also kinda annoying Grimoire cards are not readable in game.
I want it on the PC for teh graphixxx.
KB+M is not the main factor - I am honestly OK with using a controller for FPS.
Scourge of Winter mission - pop coin, snipe boss to low and suicide rocket into boss. You respawn and engram is still there and you can pop another coin and repeat as many times as you want
I had over 300 coins and 430 motes or something.
Remember too that the three of coins is sold in a stack of 5. So I only had to buy 14 of them which is 98 coins. Spent 225 coins in total.
With the better weapons you have over me I figured you'd jump up more with new armor than I would. I did expect to hit 270 though. Oh well

Is there any cheap way to upgrade the digital edition of the original? I have none of the expansions but wouldn't mind trying to play this again.
Trade in old copy to Gamestop and get the legendary edition. It will save you 20 bucks.

The digital taken king expansion is $40. You get all the content for $60. That's your only options for digital unless you find some way to get a deal on PSN value cards.
Also a little info for you guys on farming the scourge of winter mission boss for exotic engrams. You do just enough damage to him with 3 precision shots and one body shot with an ice breaker that your next rocket will kill him when you stand next to him to blow yourself up. I was wondering how low I can bring him and that is what I found works best. Snipe him before you enter the door, stand outside the room. My average seems to be 1 engram out of 3 or 4 times. Only use one coin per go. The bonus stacks but the chances go up with each successive use, using more than one at a time wastes them.
According to Bungie they are nerfing this method so better take advantage.
edit: Of note I ended up getting the following.
Telesto(fusion rifle with multikills spawn orbs and projectiles attach to enemies and detonate)
Zhalo Supercell (auto rifle that chains lightning between enemies, grows more accurate the longer it's fired, and double kills charge super and return ammo)
Hereafter(sniper rifle with Precision kills have a chance to blind nearby enemies and magazine refunded if all shots are precision kills)
4th Horseman (need no introduction to the auto shotgun)
Starfire Protocol(year 1 at 290)
3x Last word (year 1 at 290)
2x Crest of Alpha Lupi (year 1 at 290)
2x Stag Helmet (warlock helmet gives fast charge super when all allies are dead & chance to spawn with overshield)
2x Obsidian mind (year 1 at 290)
Helm of Inmost Light (year 1 at 290)
2x Skyburners annex (hunter helmet gives chance to create orbs on heavy kills and orbs may grant special ammo when super is full)
Saving all the armor in case I want to infuse something later for my second character to level up quickly. I ended up using the starfire protocol and removing the stag helmet. Then I took my legendary helmet I had saved and infused one of my spare exotics to it to bring it to 290. Brought me up to 277-278 depending on whether I use an exotic primary or an exotic special. Pretty happy.
