Nice..it seems like near 300 is going to be the soft cap without doing court and raid. I also heard of some artifact from an Eris quest where you need to do 3 tiers of court of Oryx that works along with Zhalo Supercell. It makes it so that arc precision kills against a minion of the Darkness have a chance to generate an Orb. So far that we know of, the Supercell is the only elemental primary in the game after the 2.0 update. Leads me to believe we won't be seeing many burns in the nightfall.

IMO it took more coordination then Aethon hard mode did

the one after it which we didn't record is slightly easier but involves a random person getting selected for something and a jumping puzzle

Have a much more competent group today, got war priest down to half only using primaries on our first test run when 4 guys never touched it. Might be a good sign lol.

Book of sorrows in the grimoire, nice. Destiny ghost hunter has them too, guide will be up eventually. I have 17 :/

chances are there will be a group of people just spamming this at every hour of the day

tier 1 is easy as hell and requires Reciprocal Runes - you get these as random rewards from things on the dreadnaught

Tier 2 is slightly harder these require Stolen Runes - but any decent 3 man team can do them and if there are 9 people there you can yolo them
Stolen runes are harder to get sometimes you get them from H strikes or quests or who knows, you need to run 3 tier 1s to charge the strange rune

Tier 3 - Requires an Antiquated Rune - i got one from the raid - you can also get them from Eris if you are crotas bane rank 5 - you need to charge it with 3 Strange Rune runs - this one is pretty hard but doable

there is also a quest for this where you need to run 6 tier 1, 3 tier 2 and 1 tier 3, when done you get a 300 light artifact - get this before you start

if you have a ton of level 1 rune you can chain run them - blue engrams - blue engrams EVERYWHERE - use to upgrade gear

Yep but I tried going there this morning and it was absolutely empty. One guy showed up and we did a couple t1 runs but I need two t2 to charge my antiquated rune. Though to complete the quest you just need to be in on the event and it is not necessary to be the one who starts it. I tried the lfg site last night and this morning and at best there were 3-5 people posting for t3 and nobody for t2 or t1 and of those maybe 2 were too low for a t3 and wanted to be carried. Someone said they probably did nightfall and got it because nightfall with small arms this week is cake and level isn't a big factor because of it. Then they think they can just join any group doing it and get completion. Which is ok except it's going to be hard to get a group together for t3 if most of the people looking are lower light than is optimal.

CMD, is it worth coming back?

I think so. I mean I am having lots of fun again and there are a ton of quests to complete now from NPCs. You don't steamroll everything but nothing is impossibly hard that I have found. The new strikes are great too. It wouldn't take you long at all to level to 40 and start grabbing marks.

I think with all the changes in 2.0 it's the best time to come back.

With all the hype of it being awesome I've been contemplating it as well but I was so let down with the game before hand I don't know if I wanna pay another $60 for it. I played the hell out of it from beta until the first expansion. It just got too repetitive for me. Plus not having any real life friends that play it at all doesn't help either as most of you that love it play it with your friends. I loved the gunplay but doing the exact same missions that you played a hundred times and lack of endgame is what I got bored of.

I have done all the quest in my inventory except Jolly quest and Oryx related ones.
Currently at 298 Light level.

Just can't seem to find the group to beat Oryx. Golgoroth was a pain in the ass as well.
I am very happy with the expansion so far.

You need 3 high impact snipers in the pool to get him down *just in time*.
There were groups who did this in 3 rounds but they had high 290's with 4 high impact snipers.

I don't have RL friends that play. Really I only have Anubis and Raid187 that I see online regularly now and they are from here. I use the lfg sites and find people and sometimes they become friends in the game.

Just did a bunch of T3 court runs and they were easy with the right group. First try we had some people who were too low for T3 and failed. They need to fix the way court works I think because 3 people for T3 is tough unless they are all 300+ I think. Having 6 makes it easy if everyone is 290+ but you can only have a fireteam of 3 on patrol. You need to rely on random people being there to help out. We had 6 people who wanted to do it but we couldn't get together easily until we had a couple randoms invite them to their team so everyone was in the same instance.

I started playing again after getting The taken King this weekend and I'm now remembering the stuff that annoyed me about this game. Why, oh why won't bungie provide some functionality for meeting people, discussing what you are wanting to do, and putting a team together to do it from within the game? I have yet to try a single raid because I don't want to scour the Internet LFG websites for a fire team.

Why not have matchmaking as an option on raids? I know we'll probably lose with random teams, but dammit let us try. Eventually the whole of destiny's player base will get to know the raids so well that random teams may become viable anyway.

I'm having fun with the story though. A lot has changed since I last played. I just wish it was easier to get into some of the more rewarding content.

Edit: does Oryx remind anyone else of megatron?

Haven't touched this since the first month of vanilla. Just picked up TK legendary and I am back. The game is a whole lot better. More stuff to do.
