I dunno what bungie was taking about with the loot drops being 310-320. I saw one of the streamers got a 306 fusion rifle. Looks like we are going to be fighting RNG for a long long time to get 320. I'm not really worried about it that much but it seems like there was some misinformation or something. Dunno if I'll do hard tonight. Depends on whether I go out or not.

chances are he didn't run normal this week

if you start with hard the hard mode crops are 310-320 but you also get the normal drops if its your first kill on said boss which are 300-310

so that streamer most likely didn't get HM loot from that boss but got NM loot

you can get the same thing from the same boss at the same time IE a chest from HM that is 310-320 and a chest 300-310 from the same boss at the same time


we are running it tonight and I fully expect to clear it all

Yeah it's not supposed to be that hard really. Like there's nothing ultra crazy that throws everyone off. Except the no revives of course.

I think it's stupid for bungie to have any type of RNG that can reward the same thing twice though. It should roll hard drops first and if you get a pair of boots at 316 you should not roll normal and get 304 boots. That makes no sense to me except to get people pissed off lol.

I've heard this a lot on other forums from people who cleared normal. They get nothing since hard won't even drop shards for them out of those chests. The game must only roll once for chests and since there are two encounters where the reward is from a chest you get no loot on hard if you already looted normal. I think Bungie needs to patch this myself. Getting nothing, not even shards is just bad. Technically daughters is a boss encounter, it's not like you're getting the first shard chest or the exotic chest.

Chests in vog didn't pop after a section boss. The ghost and class item both come from chests after totems and daughters in Kings fall. You don't get the drop from the boss but rather the chest that appears after the boss. So it seems you are locked out of those loot chances if you do normal first. VoG never had a drop that could not be obtained in hard when you did normal first.

Yeah man I think the drops need a patch. If we are doing hard we should not be getting loot that is on normal levels. Just my opinion

I need to do golgoroth to oryx, and a fresh to oryx, today.

Hunter got the following today clearing to Oryx - missed totems chest because the game crashed

319 Boots
312 Rocket - fed to the normal HMG to bring it to 312 as i got the 319 RL last night - same exact perks
304 Gloves
313 Cloak

hunter now can get to 311, my lock can only get to 310

RNG and I are not friends. 312 sniper I fed to black spindle, 313 gloves, 311 boots. Still stuck at 308 or 309 depending whether or not I equip a sword.

Nothing from totems and nothing from daughters twice.

Edit: hopefully I can get my 3rd character's subclass leveled more for another shot.

Haha, yeah I hated that. Luckily there's a trick for your second and third characters.

Once you get the exotic sword on one character, get the quest on a second. Then before you infuse the sword up to 280 send it to the character that finished the exotic quest. Then infuse it up and talk to Lord Shaxx and you can skipp the PVP kills and Major Kills portion of the quest. It will take you directly to the farming section.

wait so if i get the sword on my titan and then send it to warlock - have warlock infuise itto 280 and talk to shaxx

then send it back to titan i can skip the PVP?
