Wanted to add that I've been using the hung jury as my scout rifle but just got the Mida multi tool and absolutely love it. Also have the suros regime and zhalo supercell. Think my next solo work is going to be to raise my gunsmith level to get a weapon from him. I'd like to get the Doom of Chelchis also but so far, no dice. Only killed Oryx once so far so it should drop in the future with more kills.
I wish there was a way to quickly change out weapons, like a macro or something. If I want to change out a weapon, by the time I get to the weapon selection screen, pick my weapon, go back out, a full 3-5 seconds can transpire which can mean the difference in a wipe or not. Needs to be a quickchange button or combination that swaps out weapon sets.
I agree, swapping gear can be a pain. One tip I read online, that I haven't been able to really tell if it works or not, is to look away towards the ground or wall, just some angle that has less stuff on the screen. This supposedly helps the gear screen come up quicker.
But really, you shouldn't need to be swapping gear out during fights, just chewing a synthesis here and there.
the only time you should be swapping off TOM is on shade phase if you are paranoid abbot killing yourself and there is more then enough time to do it
but IMO there's no reason to just use sniper/LMG in shade phase
to me you are overcomplicating that
just use a sniper on ogres and leave TOM on, and if needed swap TOM off for teleport phase, if you want
ogres die with 4 crits and a nade from snipers + you should have 2-3 people shooting every one anyway based on typical strats
I usually start off with a scout rifle to kill the shades and knight and then either use my machine gun and zhalo supercell for the ogres or the scout rifle and machine gun, then hop down from the pedestal, get in the middle, equip the ToM, fire away at his gut, then get in the bomb, switch back out to something when I get transported to the alternate reality thing (not sure if I really need to switch out here though), rinse, and repeat. At some point, I tend to run out of heavy ammo and need to pop again, which isn't an issue, but again, having to pause, go into the other screen, use the ammo and or switch weapons sucks, especially if you are trying to move around, stay in the aura and/or are close to having to get in and out of your bomb.
Too much switching. You can totally keep your ToM on the whole time and when it comes to shade, just use your secondary or heavy machine gun. You're putting yourself and team in danger with all that switching since you'll be doing less dps and could die from the loading screen.
Also, any time you switch a weapon, you lose most of its ammo, so that's another reason not to switch during fights.
Man I have this game, but I'm too cheap to pay for ps-plus at full price which mean I have not even open Destiny and I got it on Black Friday so idk what to do. PS plus doesn't go on sale like Xbox live.

Nowadays, being in the 3+teens, I do understand why you would want higher levels playing with you. It takes so much time repeating everything at times, it starts to get frustrating and not fun.
Still like to play with low light guys, help them out as other did to me though. But I think we have to figure the time allotted before starting one up. Very rewarding however to have "noobie" start shouting for joy when they get nice drops after finishing.
PS+ can be bought for $40 several times a year. Are you saying you're too cheap to spend ~$3-4/month to have online access?
If so, you probably shouldn't even be owning a PS4 and games with it.
And how can you "love" the game if you haven't even opened it?
