How much are they charging for that? I haven't played in a long time and honestly I just don't think it's worth too much money for a map pack. It's still the same grinds just different backdrops. WHile that works for a while, a couple of years of this stuff just gets a bit tired for me.

Agreed. I was one of the more vocal supporters of the game but there just isn't enough story and there is too much of the same weekly events. Ended up logging in, doing weekly stuff, sorting loot, logging out until next week if I didn't get anything cool. When stuff is pretty new it's great fun with a couple friends but the repetition gets to you. Not only that but once you're a veteran of the new raid and strikes it gets old trying to escort people through it and having to explain everything and wipe multiple times because someone isn't paying attention or did the wrong thing. Especially if someone needs to pay extra attention to something specific to keep from wiping the group. When what should take no more than 45min turns into an hour and a half it gets old real quick.

This was supposed to be a huge update, akin to what the taken king was supposed to be. I've not been reading up on what is in it, I just had the end of september marked on my calendar. Is this not a huge update to the game like what they originally said it would be?

At least this time they're selling the expansion separately without just included all the old stuff and the higherb price that came with it.

So I fired it up again, preparing for the latest DLC... Last time I played was King's Fall (Oryx), killed the bastard a few times. I'm at 311 light... So any suggestions what to do before the new DLC hits ?

The same thing you do every night... grind and grind the world!

only thing to do now is grind some stuff to see if you can increase your LL before the DLC (you have 1 day) but that shouldn't matter much as the new gear that will start dropping will be better.

you could "edge your reputations" by getting them close to leveling so you can just bang them over super fast after t he DLC drops for some quick new items. All of my toons are 335 and have the majority of their reps edged so they can just turn 1 thing in and level it up when the DLC hits

first thing you should do when the DLC his is do the story missions as they will open up all the areas and so om, as well as give you an idea of WTF is going on. after that yes its more of the same. new raid, new strike(s), new PVP mode. New things to collect and so on.

From latest news I've seen, seems almost certain 2.0 will also be released on pc. Unfortunately console and pc will probably be segregated due to pvp differences.

And you have to start from scratch unless they let you migrate somehow. It's too bad you couldn't log in based on a bungie account rather than it being tied to either psn or Xbl. That way you could play on any platform you felt like.

Yeah I was somewhat surprised that if you went through the trouble of buying 1.0 on ps4 and xb1 that your bungie account wouldn't link your character status.

Funny thing is, I spend about 90% of my time in the Crucible, and Rise of Iron is a welcome upgrade to me -- the single player (I've finished the main campaign) is almost a sideshow. Supremacy adds some spice to team matches, and the new weapons add nice twists. I really like using the Trespasser exotic weapon... I just wish it had more ammo.

Ive often wondered why this does not work, They already house the char data someplace as you can log into your account on more then 1 PS4/Xbox and have your toons. Id wager its a MS/Sony thing that stops it from working

it would be amazing if it worked like WoW where it is all housed by one central location and it does not matter where or on what you login in as

Yeah when I played fixi online for a long time it was available on ps2, of, and Xbox 360 and you could log in on any platform and retain all your characters. Often I would log in on console and set one character to sell stuff and actually play on my pc.

Still playing it here -- there's definitely a sizeable community, it's just that it's mostly down to the most loyal players. You have to have a certain amount of dedication if you've stuck around since the early days, and I know there's only going to be so many people who bought into it late into the series.

I like the concept of one last hurrah. Many MMOs (or in this case, FPS/MMO hybrids) don't have the fortune of a controlled exit. Either there's an abrupt shutdown, or the developer doesn't have the resources/inclination to plan anything special for the end. And technically, this isn't so much an exit (Destiny 1 will stay, at least for a while) as it is an acknowledgment that many players will be leaving for Destiny 2 in half a year.
