It's fun, definitely fun, but this doesn't feel like a sequel at all one bit. It literally feels like one of the many expansions.

Basically if you loved the first Destiny you will love this, if you wanted some changes it doesn't look like anything has changed. It's not like we even got new classes to play which to me would have made the most sense to make it feel fresh, we just get new abilities for the same classes.

if you think of it an an MMO not getting new things really isn't an issue

think of WoW and EQ, every new large xpac there was some sort of reset which made all your previous stuff useless, classes were always the same or 1 new one comes in and they tweaked some spells.

But this isn't an expansion, this is a whole new numbered sequel. You expect more for sequels than expansions. This literally feels exactly the same.

The graphics are much improved from the first one but that may be that I have a PS4 Pro and a 4k TV but everything looks crisp. I wasn't expecting the beta to have Pro support. Graphics definitely are better so that's a big plus.

you can tack a number on it but its still no different then a WoW expansion and was never intended to be anything different. Bungies plans is for Destiny to Span 10 years or whatever,

I think the problem is the expansions didn't cost $60 and when you put a full price on it and call it "part 2" there are certain expectations. Why didn't they just make this another expansion? I believe this is activision at work. New paint? Sell it as a new product at full price. This has been their MO for years with CoD.

Also on wow did they take away gear telling you you have to start from scratch at lv1 when they released an expansion?

That doesn't excuse calling it a part 2 to me. I don't really care personally cause I haven't played the game in a long time but I did like it when I did and I plan to go back to it. I'm ok with it, I'm just arguing the other side of things.

Gee, 2-3 whole days to test a game, probably less with the numerous errors people will get. Not to mention, many, if not most people, are working or at school those days and have other obligations, baseball or football practice, scouts, school related functions, etc to attend. They need to give us at least a couple weeks to test something, not 72 hours. I'm at a conference over those days and won't even have xbox access.

That is the pc beta. The console beta already happened. I heard the beta was pretty error free and they really are just testing their servers more than the game itself. The game play they open up is minimal.

I followed the console beta on twitter and saw tons of people getting login errors for many hours. I'll probably skip D2 unless I'm super bored this fall and wait for Anthem.

So you don't think that millions of people all trying to log in at the same time should get some errors and timeouts?

No, in fact, when you build anything it should be designed to support the largest possible amount of people hitting it at any point in time. I work in computers and software -- I'm a system admin. We design systems to be able to support X amount of people hitting it at once time and this isn't their first rodeo.

You can't account for people's ISP and other issues between them and the server though. You also cannot account for PSN or XboxLive throwing a fit at someone for whatever reason either. I agree with Anubis. I did not play the beta but a lot of my friends list did and when I messaged them they didn't have any complaints at all, except the fact that they didn't really get to create a character and a couple didn't like the new art style, calling it somewhat cartoony. One guy would have liked to have more game to play but based on the beta for the first game I knew that wasn't happening.

I'd wager that whatever complaints there were about timeouts and errors was due to someone overloading their bandwidth, a problem with their network in general, poor wifi, random PSN or XBL issues for them, or something between them and the server wasn't playing nice.

Despite the grinding later on in the game and the constant need to buy more content I actually enjoyed Destiny quite a bit. I preordered Destiny 2 on PS4 to gain access to the beta but I guess they weren't giving out keys anymore. Canceled the order and now I plan to play it on PC... on a Vega card hopefully.

Does anyone know if this is going to be a "play anywhere" title for Windows 10? I wouldn't mind having it on Xbox also...

It is not. I think only first party titles are play anywhere. Plus the game uses battle.net to log in on pc.

I have a feeling the longevity will be better on console too so I'm going for PS4 again.

ack, bummer... I don't have PS+ anymore though but I do have XB Gold. I'd actually rather get it for PS4 though.

I've not played it, but that trailer makes it look like an addon pack for Destiny 1. Graphics look similar, same actors..

I was hoping for more, much more.

Waiting for Anthem.....
