Warmind DLC is about what you'd expect... Mars map looks cool but it's fairly small like Mercury and there's a few new public events to attend. There are some enemies that are a bit tougher but I think the missions can be burned through in under 2 hours; the ending basically leaves you hanging.

I still like this game a lot though but it's quite obvious that the only people still playing are the most loyal of fans.

Yeah I’ll go through the motions to complete the story and call it a day. After all I did pay for the season pass. If I could transfer my characters to PC I’d play it there instead but it is what it is.

Yea i did the same, except with the PC version. That's a good way to put it though, as that's exactly what the game feels like now. The expansions aren't bad but at the same time I don't think Bungie could really keep players in the game regardless of what they released. People played the crap out of it for six months plus and now it's just old news. It's not an MMO despite some people comparing it as such.

Glad to see this thread is still going (haven't been on the forums in a while). I haven't started Warmind on PC yet, tend to soon. I'm just glad more stuff to do was added in this expansion. Curse of Osiris was a joke.

I started playing on pc and am currently lv21 and maybe LL270. Feel like a noob again. It runs much better than on PS4 obviously. I’m playing at 4K with HDR and all settings maxed except FOV at 95 and depth of field on high instead of highest. Pretty much locked to 60fps all the time. There are some times where the fps can drop to the 50s but I’m hesitant to drop settings to compensate because I think the game looks a lot better than it does on PS4 and I like eye candy. The glimmer public event during the heroic dropped my fps to about 50 which is the worst I’ve seen. I know I can hit 60fps minimums if I dropped shadows to high and used HDAO ambient occlusion instead of 3D but the difference in how the game looks is quite a jump to me so I left it alone. For the few times I see less than 60fps it didn’t feel worth it in the end.

Overall it feels like a new game to me on pc. I’m re-learning how to play on a mouse and keyboard though but it’s slowly getting easier. After playing so many hours on PS4 at 30fps, 60fps on pc almost appears to be sped up lol

I'm jelly. I don't think I will ever get to play D2 on PC. 1) building a new rig would be too much for me, 2) no good dedicated office space to really get a good/comfortable setup, and 3) all my friends play on PS4 (though not sure if there is cross play).

No cross play unfortunately. I ended up buying a new keyboard/mouse/mousemat setup and using a folding card table in front of my 65" OLED TV to play PC games on.

I'll occasionally experience some longer-than-usual load times on the PC version but that could have been rectified by now. When I first started the PC game it seemed like the hubs and planets took mere seconds to load up though. I think the servers grab players in batches like the console version and then a bunch of people all spawn at once when it syncs up.

Seems the world of Destiny is getting much darker. Spoiler link though it's in their E3 teaser so not sure how much of a spoiler it is..

Video of the new Forsaken that goes into a lot of what's coming. Not sure it's enough for me to grind, but if history is any guide I'll end up buying it opening day.

Yeah I still play it on pc. Grinded for Polaris Lance and sleeper stimulant recently. Did level 7 escalation protocol too which was fun. Problem is they took away a lot of the ways to increase power level now so it takes forever and ever to get high level. Then they made escalation protocol start at 370 so really almost nobody does it because they have no chance to actually win. You get nothing unless you beat level 7 and that scales up to 400 I believe. So basically the best event in the game for me has nobody actually doing it except for people just trying to beat level 1 a bunch of times to complete steps for quests. I think it was a terribly planned addition to the game. It’s too hard for a team of 3 and you can’t create fire teams of more than 3 so you have to either get lucky or jump through hoops to get people together on the same map to do it. They messed up making it an all or nothing affair too. If you get to level 5 and fail you get nothing. Gotta beat the whole thing to get rewards so there is no incentive for people to do it. Plus since they made the grind ridiculous to level up, many people are stuck in the 350-360 range and are not able to reliably beat even low levels. By the time they are leveled sufficiently it may be too late to bother.

Haven't jumped on since Warmind was released (sorry Dredd), or whatever the second expansion was called. The forsaken content looks really cool though so, once again, Bungie will likely have me jumping back in for more. The game plays incredibly well on PC so I don't mind having to shell out for additional content, plus the Gambit mode sounds really fun and I'm always on board for new gear, supers, locations and lore in general.

Anyone willing to help pass the wotw heroic today before it disappears? Can't do it solo on XB1

Is it just me or are we in yet another game drought that seems to plague this generation more than others? I preorder the Forsaken mostly out of boredom with the lack of other interesting stuff out right now.

Yeah the summer is usually that way. There's a couple titles coming up I'm watching. Spiderman, Shadow of Tomb Raider, and it looks like red dead redemption 2 should still be coming in october. I have forsaken pre-ordered for PC because I like the game play and want to continue the storyline for the game. I expect a solid month of me doing real content before I get bored of it again though. Having no clan and just doing everything solo is lame but the gun play is great and I want to see the new supers etc.

Over the summer I've explored a lot of games I had not played on PC but had access to through Humble Bundle as well as finished Yakuza Zero on PC which was a great story(even if the fighting system was terrible). SO I haven't been bored in my gaming time, but there hasn't been a blockbuster release I've focused on since God of War.

I've the same expectations. Which is part of my problem. I'm paying $40 for a add-on. I could be wrong but it just feels like I'm paying to settle. I'll give them credit.. they def know when to release the game. I'm pretty sure I've bought most of these games when there are few games out.

Yea the $40 is a hard pill to swallow and I'm just not sure I care for any more after playing the game so much on both PS4 and PC. I'm hearing mostly good things about Forsaken, which is cool, but I feel like I wouldn't even know how to continue from where I left off. I think I finished Warmind quests but I actually don't remember.

I also read about some odd economy changes--something that I don't understand why keeps getting changed.

I've no doubt the economy changes are done so they can soak more time out of you. I hadn't logged in a quite a while, seems I didn't do Warmind at all even though I did have the subscription. Thought I had, but seems I skipped it. I'm not too surprised as the one before that was stupid. I did notice upgrading gear now costs more resources. Not sure when they did that, but now I've got to grind a planet searching for bushes or crystals to upgrade my helmet.. good times?

FYI, base Destiny 2 is one of PS4's free games of this month for PS+ subscribers. Given how much DLC you need to add on I'm not sure the base game is a great value at this point, but it may add to the playerbase for those that get hooked.

I think the PS4 exclusive stuff expires this month too so they're likely trying to cash in on potential players before then.

I've been playing this DLC for a couple days now. I'm up to around 410 LL and am progressing through the story line. It's not bad. Lots more things to do now. My beef with this game is that I want to feel like I can progress up light levels without having to run multiplayer stuff... Meaning, I don't mind doing public events and the like, but I don't want to run strikes, nightfalls, or raids or feel the need to PVP but still want to be able to quickly log on for 30 mins to an hour at a time and get a piece of gear or two or get enough tokens to turn in and raise my light level a few points. I don't like running strikes with randoms because they don't take the time to go through and look around and are always just blowing through content to get to the end and I don't like that. I think I can now do this with the Forsaken DLC but before that, I was stuck at my old LL as drops were always lower than my current level.

Sadly since spider-man released on the same day as the forsaken expansion I haven’t played destiny 2 at all. I actually just took a break to go watch some college football and get lunch lol. 7 hours straight of spider-man and it’ll probably be a few hours more before I take a break once I get back home lol.

It will probably get to the point where you get limited progress again though.

From what I've played this week.. it def slows you down once you get to '500' per item. I've gotten items above that, but they're not as plentiful as before. They're also like 503, or 507. They've also slowed down the ability to upgrade your gear with other items. Now it all requires mastercores. While these can be bought, the price doubles each time you buy one. That resets daily, but it does slow you down. I've found some more from other items, but it's still a slow down.

I'll give credit to them. The bounty system (which is everywhere.. even dismantling items randomly generates them) keeps you playing more and more. All in all, it's still the same game. Once you've done these things a hundred times you'll get burned out again. Having said that, it's still new enough for me to keep playing.

I am confused on Raids though. I got a bounty to do one, but I'm not sure where they went. I've still yet to do a raid as I'm on Xbox, and my clan isn't active. One day..

Sounds like once you hit a certain level range you will have to do the whole master core farming thing to progress. Personally o say screw that and I want to make my one way for as long as I play. As long as the missions for the expansion can be downloaded, that’s th goal for me.
