Is it better to do strikes + bounties or pvp to level up? I guess I'm going to have to try that farm spot when I get a chance, but I'm starting to get used to pvp and really enjoying it right now. However, I think the hunter's ability to sit down, and disappear is complete cheese.

People are saying the best way to level is to use the loot cave, however, I haven't had much luck. I actually found a single legendary engram there, but it turned into Ascended Energy... Really, the best way is just to play. Either most missions per hour or most mobs per hour. I think missions have a higher reward rate, so if you can do PVP and win every 10 minutes or something, you'd have good chance. Especially, if you can do the 3v3.

If you're below level 20, I think you'd advance fastest if you started every day trying to complete ALL of your vanguard and crucible bounties. AFAIK strikes don't give you any additional experience for completing them. Above level 20, vanguard and crucible bounties would still be important because you'd be earning the reputation you need to buy legendary armor. Then strikes become more important as well because you need marks to buy anything.

Once you have a full set of legendary armor + one exotic armor piece, the fastest way to advance would probably be to do your daily heroic every day for the 1-2 ascendant pieces you get for that, do your daily public event every day for another ascendant piece, and max out both your weekly vanguard and crucible marks every week for the legendary armor you can buy and salvage for more ascendant pieces. If you can manage to do all that before the week is up, then you'd have to turn to farming in hopes that you get some legendary armor drops to salvage and/or level up your cryptarch for more legendary pieces.

The Queen's Wrath event is up. Do a bounty for the queen of the reef and get a ticket. Use your ticket in the special event to the left of the map near the daily and weekly stuff. Guaranteed legendary piece for completion with a used ticket. Someone said they got 12 shards from there already. The mission is level 24 with heroic and 2 other random modifiers.

Anyone on ps4 up for it this evening. I need me an ascendent shard to finish my last upgrade on exotic body and I also need a legendary helmet cause it is the last rare I have. I will be on after 4pm eastern. Should be very easy with a couple other people.

Actually there is an exploit. Once you enter a mission for the queen it is random. You can go back to orbit and select the mission again to get another one. You can do this until you get an easy and fast mission, like the one for the warp drive on earth. You can do one mission per bounty turned in and get multiple pieces of legendary gear and weapons.

The queen's bounty emissary is through the big doorway behind the normal bounty NPC.

Haven't been able to do anything the past couple days except my bounties. Sadly, my Fifa 15 was delivered today, so I will be splitting time between that and this. =(

Will do...a couple of the bounties are tedious like getting 200 headshots on fallen and getting 200 of an item off them.

Just ran a couple Queen's wrath missions with mnewsham and the burn effect is ridiculous. The fallen drones (sharks) are flying deathtraps lol. We won 3 times, ended up doing the arkon mission on earth once (easy and fast) and the kell mission on venus twice. Got two legendary queen's robes and a legendary helmet out of it. Can finally trash my blue helmet. Dismantled the two robes as I use an exotic body piece and got 5 shards. A public event earlier gave me a 6th shard so my exotic is fully upgraded at last.

On the epic missions, if you don't have the right damage type, you may as well give up. I seem to have the easiest time with the kell mission. I can cheese the boss pretty well (shoot it a few times with a arc sniper rifle in the head before even triggering the encounter, and then finishing it up with an arc machine gun).

It depends, sometimes you can get through it by brute force.

Dismantled the two robes as I use an exotic body piece and got 5 shards. A public event earlier gave me a 6th shard so my exotic is fully upgraded at last.

I dismantled 2 of the 3 as well, got enough shards to upgrade my legendary chest piece to 1 away from fully upgraded. Also farmed relic iron and helium filaments to get my exotic gauntlets up and my legendary helmet. Now level 26 just about 27.

Gotta say I'm liking these queens wrath missions. Not terribly difficult and I get a legendary at the end of every one. Between that and the armor I bought with vanguard marks today I've already gotten enough shards for two armor upgrades.

We did the level 28 weekly strike with Rage187 and another friend. Was epic Took us a while and lots of teamwork and cooperation. Rage's exotic rocket launcher (solar) was seriously melting everything. Same for my pocket fusion (also solar). But even the lowliest Vex grunts were quite a challenge, doing sick sick damage with their lasers (or whatever their solar-damage guns are).

We'll be trying Nightfall today most likely... Rage187 is lvl28, I'm still 27, the 3rd guy is 26 (almost 27).

We tried the nightfall three times, and couldn't do it. The boss is a lot faster than usual it seemed and we couldn't peek out for shots.

Finally hit 20.. then 21 after decoding some stuff. Weeeeeee. Think I'll try that cave thing tonight.

Hit level 27 today, still have not gotten a single legendary weapon or exotic weapon, nor an exotic weapon bounty. Though I finally got a legendary weapon engram, it turned into 2 Ascendant energies.


Drops just dont like me for weapons it seems...

I hit up the loot cave last night for maybe half an hour or so. Boring as hell, but it's a good spot to farm. Also ran into some even thing where like a billion mobs spawn from the room next to where you're shooting the loot cave from. That was pretty insane. So, in 1/2 hour to an 1 hr, I got around 7 blues and a ton of greens that I salvaged for parts. I'm sure the longer you do it, the higher the chance for a legendary.

I also figured out that a legendary engram, could just be 2 strange coins. So, I didn't do anything wrong when I brought he leg engram over to the decryptor guy and he gave me 2 strange coins.. lol

Yeah legendary engrams and rare engrams can turn into rare upgrade materials(ascendant energy/shards) or currency (strange coins/motes of light)

I had a blue engram decrypt into a legendary shotgun. Felt like I beat the game when that happened.

3 legendary weapon engrams today, 2 ascendant energies and 4 motes of light... Sigh. Still not an actual legendary weapon to be had for me. Guess I'll just save up and buy one.

Literally, 50% of my legendaries have come from blue engrams. Sadly, that is 1 of 2. Both were helmets and only one was actually usable by my class.

I hadn't heard of the 'loot cave' until this. I'm not sure how I feel about this exploit, it kind of defeats the whole point of the game's reward system.
