Only problem is if I want to hit 30 I need to get the helmet from the hard mode raid. Normal difficulty does not drop it.

I haven't played this game in about a week and have no desire to play at all. I'm gonna wait until the DLC comes out in December to play again. I just got burned out on this game too fast. The lack of variety of maps, armor, weapons, enemies, quests, lack of any decent voice chat to meet new people while playing the game. This game just doesn't have the staying power of games of its type. They really need to work on giving us new things to do in between the DLC which aren't frequent. Sorry but stuff like Queens Wrath and Iron Banner is the exact same thing we've been playing since day one. I had such huge hopes for this game before it came out. I can only take doing the exact same strike missions and bounties so many times. Other MMO's have you replaying the same thing yes but end game takes you a very long time to get there in other games. This game's endgame just comes too fast. People got to the endgame literally the first day it was out. That alone speaks to how little content their is.

I'm level 22 and haven't seen everything yet. Well that's because I don't have much time to play. But either way some people did reach the top level tier pretty quickly. I don't mind the grind, but it does get a bit repetitive. At this point I can't join anyone since I'm not at their level.

Finally got to 28 today. Now off to enjoy a long weekend with my folks in town. I will be back around next weekend hopefully for a raid.

Feel the same way.. At 22. Haven't done everything yet. Hell, haven't even completed all the missions. Just so little time.. and when I do get time I want to play Madden and imagine myself as JJ Watt.

Yup, with you both. I started Destiny about a 3 weeks after its release and by the time I could play, my friends were already 24-28 level. Well, that didn't initially deter me from playing, only motivated me actually. I thought to myself, "ok, I'm going to power level and get caught up in no time." Well I hit level 20 and from there it was like I hit a wall. I am now level 22, almost 23, but it has been so difficult to get gear or level up anymore. I get the grinding (I've played WoW and D3 for awhile), but never have felt hitting a wall like this. Hoping this game somehow makes the transition after 20 to higher levels a bit easier with additional content.

I still like the game a lot though. I definitely am having fun playing it.

The grind gets a tad better once you hit rank 2 on Vanguard or Crucible, IMO. Then, you can farm for gear to hit 25ish without upgrades.

After that, you're basically just farming for shards so can you hit 27 and be comfortable in raid.

EDIT: Also, is reputation spread over account or per character?

Well, it isn't like you didn't say all this pages ago.

Rep is per character. You have to rank up each class separately.

As cmdrdredd said rep is per character but you can transfer weapons between characters through the vault though.

Also why are so many people crying about not enough content in a game that doesn't charge a monthly fee especially if you've gotten 30+ hours out of it?

Are the rep requirements for purchasing things not tied to using the items? Say, I purchased legendary gear on my Hunter (Warlock specific gear) and put it in my Vault, a level appropriate Warlock without the reputation required to purchase it, will still be able to use it? I guess that isn't too bad, if it is correct.

You cannot purchase armor for a class other than your current one through the vanguard, crucible, or faction.

You can transfer any items you get from engrams even if the item is a vanguard item that would normally require rank 2+. I believe you can also transfer exotics purchased from Xur.

Decided to try out iron banner and so far I'm 5 and 0. Still not getting overly good drops, but 4 or 5 blues isn't horrible I guess. Hate getting 1 shot by a level 24 or 25 when they have the exotic fusion rifle, ah well.

What about the weapons? Are those class specific?

Are there any real differences between class specific gear? It seems like there are only 3 attributes: Int, Strength, Disc. Each class has a grenade, melee, and special. How much difference or tailoring can they with class specific gear?

I'm only a 23 titan with 1 leg piece so I don't haven't had a chance to see the other leg gear.

They are not.

Well the legendary stats are pretty generic. I have not seen any that has class specific stats. However you can build your character around the intelligence, strength, and discipline stats for grenade, super, and melee cool down timers. Right now I have a 100% reduction in my grenade cool down and my super is around 75% I think. It is the exotic gear that has class and often subclass specific bonuses.

To be fair, I got 30 hours out of the original Donkey Kong, but it wasn't dripping with content either. I don't feel that the amount of content in the game is anywhere close to other games that have multiplayer. I played all the missions and strikes the first week and the raid content is the only thing new after that.

To me, the biggest thing that keeps me engaged is playing with other from this forum. That is where I find value.

Finally killed xyor the unwed. I ended up going onto the hub and grabbing everyone I could drag into the level. When someone would bail out because the thing is such a bitch I'd go back and invite someone else into the game. Finally got it an hour or so later. Def something you can't do on your own. You need people that know what they're doing. It's a shame you can't really tell much from the level.

I am shocked that people don't understand the difference between a special and a primary weapon. An ice breaker is not a primary. I witnessed one guy attempting to use ice breaker in vanguard tiger strikes as a primary. After 3 runs I decided I wasn't going to carry him and let him sit back. So I refused to move and forced him to move up to engage. He still refused to switch to his primary. I saw him die no less than 7 times because he would keep trying to engage enemies with an ice breaker at cqc range. I understand you wanna level it but really...do that on your own time. Use it when appropriate. Once he finally switched to his primary he stopped dying.
