So, in order to "complete" the game, I have to use avenues entirely outside of the game and not created by the developers of said game? That is absolutely ridiculous. Surely, you can see this. Imagine if WoW had no chat and no matchmaking system other than the random dungeon only group finder. The number of people who would raid would be tiny.

I understand those avenues exist, I just think Bungie really dropped the ball having outside entities have to make up for an incredibly poor vision.

Right but the point is there are many ways to get groups together. I have gotten tons of raid groups within 5minutes by posting on an active forum. Simply saying "it's too hard to find people" isn't valid when there are resources available. So what it's not in the game? It's not hard to make a post somewhere...which was the point.

If that was their intent, they're idiots...it's bad that it's not in the game because *many* people will not make that extra effort to go on a forum. It'll chase a number of people off, diminishing the number of players in game. I sure as hell haven't played the game lately. Making me go on a forum to post....well, there's other games I can go play. I have a massive game backlog of genuinely good games. I'll happily forget about Destiny until Bungie either abandons it admitting it failed, or they fix the problems.

Sorry, I find that very sad that the community has to turn to reddit to properly play the game and get a full experience. LFG and match making should be available in game, not through third party websites. People having to do that is a great example of how Bungie dropped the ball for players.

Exactly, I don't want to post on forums and gather gamertags every time I want to do a nightfall or raid. They have the systems in place for Strikes, it is absurd that they do not roll that out to the other content. Making it a button press in the game is much preferable to surfing message boards.

In game clan chat would be awesome if they didn't want match making. Join a raiding guild, and just log in.

I just don't understand why they can't bundle all the changes together instead of releasing half the updates at a time. I feel bad for anyone that started destroying exotics to upgrade to find out they basically wasted an item.

Ugh... apparently, I didn't get enough shards to upgrade. Finally just sucked it up and did some farming (after I found out I could just buy the materials for marks...) and only hit 97 light. Come on! I am 3 short of 28 (which would let people actually invite me normal raids).

Anyone on Xbox One want to do the weekly heroic or carry me in the nightfall?

You can definitely do normal raid at 27. My real life friends are a mix of 26/27 and we get it done. I'm up for weekly or nightfall any evening this week. If you're up for a laid back clan that always has people looking for groups, look up Intrepidus. You will have to use the forum though. Raid sign ups are there, where you can choose a day and time slot. The Destiny app has a chat section where people are always looking for something.

Just finished hard raid with clan mates, finally got helm I needed to hit 30 (along with raid boots and yet another titan mark and 32 shards/28 energy). Mythoclast and Thunderlord dropped tonight, just not for me Love slow fire, high impact MGs.

Hopefully the new content is decent, because Dragon Age is calling my name.

Wow I just read that reddit thread about Exotic/Xur changes. Bungie seriously came down with mental retardation. I feel bad for people I know with a shit load of maxed exotics. I haven't maxed even one yet, but almost all of mine are 1-2 nodes away. Guess I'll stop now.

Someone says its hard to get groups. There are ways to make and get groups easily.

So they introduce exotic shards a week before they should have. You'll have to re-level all your exotics now...just fantastic. I don't think I have heard of a dumber idea in a game.

Nah there were exotics that even after the changes are still not that good. Rather have the shard. I just think forcing people to upgrade exotics all over is dumb. It is just another time sink.
Apparently that's all bungie knows how to do with this game. Make everything a time sink.

I don't think i'll be re-leveling anything anytime soon, I just finished 3 weapons and two armor in the last 6 days and half way through bad juju since Monday.

They definitely did these patches backwards in what could have been intentional. I don't regret sharding any exotics as they were going to get sharded anyways but I spent alot of glimmer, ammo synthesis and materials (less important now) leveling up weapons and armor after the last patch.

I agree completely that it should be a feature within the game, but I don't understand the complaints that its too hard to find people. I've found raid groups in minutes using the outside channels (reddit, destinylfg).

Also, with the last update, you can now go to the tower and turn on game chat and talk to people there to "find friends". It's not ideal, but it is an option and I've used it successfully to fill spots.

A good thing about using destinylfg and reddit is that the quality of people I find through them are much better. I've even added most of them to my friends list after raiding with them. I don't even need to use the sites anymore because I've added quite a few people I've met through those sites already.

If I am reading right it costs 7,000glimmer, an exotic shard, and your upgrades on your exotic are reset when you upgrade it. It doesn't matter if you leveled it or not before. Here is the kick in the nuts. Apparently weapons will start at 302atk base when you turn them in for upgrade. So that means someone who didn't put any time into maxing an exotic will get a free bump to 302. If that's true...damn. Also there is this and it really worries me the most. If the wording is to be taken at face value, Xur will have exotic upgrades randomly as in RNG based. Remember getting sunbreakers 3 weeks in a row? How about getting only a head armor exotic upgrade option 3 weeks in a row. That, if true...will make me sell the game for whatever I can get for it. No way am I going to sit for 2 months waiting for Xur to stock the upgrade I need for ice breaker, or heart of praxic fire. No way in hell.

Let me preface by saying that I understand the article could be incomplete or misinformed. But with that said...
The implications of this are horrendous: "When he arrives every Friday morning, he will now have a new option to upgrade one of your equipped exotic items. Each week, he’ll offer some (but not all) exotic items as being available to upgrade."
If the system is in any way RNG based, you're now introducing two new insanely frustrating mechanics for advancement. Are you tired of getting just Armamentarium and Voidfang Vestments 5 weeks in a row for purchase? Imagine how you'll feel when they become the only Warlock exotic you can take to 32 for three weeks in a row! I'm very much hoping this isn't finalized or fully accurately worded, but if it is, we have another deeply cynical method of gating content for high level players.
Xur's original "Comes once every Friday" hook was an enticing gimmick to get you to look forward to Friday. If what this article asserts is true, it will become a time lock on getting to higher levels - a technique that borders on microtransaction levels of smugness - and will suggest that Bungie doesn't have faith that Crota will keep players around for long enough (even if it's not true).

It's like Damn, they are totally changing huge parts of the game and screwing over us people that have been playing it from the beginning. I have always had my complaints from this game but this is really taking things to another level for us that had to grind hours upon hours to upgrade our gear.

Here is another one. Engram's can still turn into weapons that cap at 300 and not the new lv32 cap. Plus vanguard/faction/crucible will limit you to one gear purchase per reputation level. So you have to grind marks and reputation just to buy new armor that will take you to 30 or the weapons that cap above 300. If you buy a weapon at rep lv5 you will need yo be rep lv6 to buy another.

Bungie really has no clue what they are doing with this game. No clue at all. You fight RNG and when you think you finally got past that part they throw more RNG in there and force you into brick walls with artificial limitations on how you can acquire new gear from venders. This is what companies do when they want you to pay to win and have a metric ton of micro transactions. This game has the wall with no way to pay your way past it. I don't get it.

I like the world, like the guns, like the game play a whole lot. The game feels great to play and I like playing with people etc. I just don't like the way bungie is pushing things. Making our work meaningless. All that time to upgrade legendary weapons and you have to start all over again. You'll be fighting RNG just to get something that caps above 300, or take weeks and weeks to even have a basic setup of weapons that go past 300. It really sucks.

Yeah I was reading the one item per rep level thing and laughing to myself, I don't know if it's confirmed but these rumors/reports and doing a good job of leading me in the direction of calling it a day lol.

I agree with dredd unlike most I actually do enjoy the world, guns, game-play etc but i'm in no mood to for lack of a better term start from scratch.

The re-upgrading exotics is bad, I agree. It would be less irritating if they would let you equip more than 1 exotic while in the Tower, so that turning in bounties can allow you to upgrade multiple items at once. As it stands now, it'll take forever to fully upgrade exotics doing it one by one.

Instead of having to do the whole trade-in + re-upgrading, why couldn't bungie just add a new column for attack power? Let this new column of attack power upgrading require you to have the expansion pass, so only folks who purchased the expac can level it up past the original 300 dmg.
