Nice to know there is a chance for some raid gear out of it. I'd be kind of surprised if they didn't hotfix it by next week.

Yea I was pretty surprised and delighted. Also, technically it's not 'Raid gear' but rather an exotic. I have read that other people have gotten exotics but I have not yet heard about anyone getting true 'Raid gear' armor or weapons.

Assuming it's not a bug, it's shaping up that the cumulative Gear and Exp bonuses that DLCers get (compared to non-DLCers) is pretty significant. Here's my understanding so far:

1. 'Free' easy Raid chest
2. Additional daily Bounties for leveling from Eris (~10k exp a day I think)
3. Access to Nightfalls/Weeklies (and Dailies?) when DLC content cycles through
4. Access to highest level Strikes, which are the only ones that offer engrams now
5. Free Legendary Arc/Solar Fusion Rifle (Murmur)

Is there anything else?

That initial run of quests from Eris gave a bunch of marks and xp too. I got through all of them in about 2 hours and had 20+ marks, 20k+ xp, and some engrams I believe.

Just got a new Plan C from the Nightfall. Looks pretty good in the update version. Have enough coins to buy something from Xur!

Going to hit 31 very soon(one more upgrade away) and hawkmoon should be maxed out soon as well to 331atk(3 more).

A public event gave me an energy and a shard. Never saw that happen before. Public events are happening often as well IME.

Yup public events are fast on earth. I'm pretty much doing one and then only waiting a few mins for the next.

Just a reminder for anyone hoping to upgrade exotics tomorrow or saturday from Xur. Make sure you have 7,000 glimmer for each exotic you wish to upgrade in addition to the exotic shard required. We obviously don't yet know what exotics he will have available to purchase but with the max glimmer being 25,000 you can only upgrade 3 at one time and would need to farm for more.

A good place for this is on mars, the first mission "The Exclusion zone" on heroic. Use a resupply code and the first waves when the door opens right at the beginning will give about 500 glimmer each time. Keep the last two enemies with the shields alive and take out all the yellow enemies that drop out of the second drop ship. Let the last two enemies kill you and you can repeat this indefinitely. Before you know it you will have lots of glimmer.

Xur is here! And his weapon is lame. Truth. =( Oh well, he had the upgraded version of my helm, but I decided to gamble on helm Engrams and got lucky. Ended up with a Titan helm and one of the DLC Hunter Exotic helms. Starts at 30 light! Not bad, and got a shard with my other.

Oh, and the quest you get is pretty easy, at least the first part is. Solar fusion rifle kills on 25 thralls. Resets on death, but simple enough.

I noticed that some upgrades are around 7500 or so glimmer too. I know they said 7000 but oh well.

I upgraded my ice breaker and light beyond nemesis(warlock helmet). They said he wouldn't sell engram's all the time so I bought one and ended up with a hunter item so I shared it. If I can get two more motes I will buy another and see what happens.

I was hoping he would have an upgrade for heart of praxic fire first. I am not a fan of specing strength on warlock, but it is what it is. Wait for next week.

The urn bounty gives you legendary gauntlets with 33 light too.

A ice breaker for my hunter

I bought 2 helm engrams and got the new warlock helm that reduces your special cooldown when you use your special and An Insurmountable Skullfort both of which I scrapped.

I also bought Voidfang Vestments and Achlyophage Symbiote (I was hoping he had Knucklehead Radar but he didn't). I topped it all off by grabbing a few fusion rifle telemetry packs (for murmur) and the urn quest for all 3 characters.

If you have more than one of an exotic and the glimmer there is no reason not to roll at least one, I rolled my non maxed ice breaker and suros and gave the maxed (300 damage) ones to other characters.

You are better off passing your higher damage weapons through the vault. Upgraded ice breaker starts at 302 which is higher than the old one max. IMO I would pass that one around between characters as you play. Two reasons. One, you get the XP from each character applied to the new one. Two, you can get a shard from the one you break down.

I was going to upgrade my suros but then I realized I don't even use it anymore. It is max at 300 but now than I have a hawkmoon at 331 and hopefully soon a multitool upgraded, there is no reason to use it IMO. Especially since I can't equip ice breaker or patience and time when I have an exotic primary.

The difference I guess for me is I only buy stuff I am gonna use because storage space is so precious in this game.

Up to you but it is much easier to level a weapon between multiple characters with bounties etc.

They really went out of their way to make Eris' bounties as tedious as possible and give you very little rep and XP for the work. Sheesh...I'm on that part with the boss and 3 of us couldn't kill it. I will try again later after I do some other stuff. I definitely see myself only doing Eris bounties on one character unless they are super simple and quick.

I completed Eris today. Got the gauntlets. Finally replaced my last blue and it got me to 28. Luckily, there were three people, including me, doing that Skywatch public quest when the guy spawned. You definitely need arc weapons against him, his shield is killer. I used Murmur with arc and it worked well. He's not too bad, but the adds are insane. You'd need some major skills or exploits to kill him solo.

The last part of the quest is a butt clincher too. The final battle

has you fighting everything you to fought to fill the Urn plus some Ogres and a ton of sword wielding Knights. All in a small room with those green spots on the floor. I beat it my first time, but I had to use a solar revive on my Warlock once so it didn't reset. Its a pretty long fight, so I'd hate to die a bunch on it.

So far I've gotten two Time on Targets, one Badger scout rifle, and a legendary rocket launcher. So, I've replaced all my weapons with new expansion quality weapons all ready if I include Murmur. Now if I only had a few more darn strange coins to get a shard...

Yup, I wish they'd have more selectable rewards instead of forcing one thing on you. Lucky, I needed the gauntlets, but if you don't then there is really no reason to do the quest line. Also, I noticed that if you did the eris quest line on normal then you can go back and do it on hard and get the mats and marks you missed.

Just got my first RNG Exotic and it was a new one! Sniper rifle in the primary slot. Farmed enough mats to fully upgrade all my stuff and I should be close to 31 when I finish. Really need a new chest though. Still rocking the Queen's guard one. =(

So I just finished the Eris bounty and the last fight...incredibly easy. Maybe it's cause I'm 30 or had a max VoC for the wizards and an upgraded ice breaker but everything died super fast. Knights were no problem with fusion grenades and a max solar zombie apocalypse. Just had to jump around a bit.

Just hit lvl 31 on my hunter, just need 60 crucible marks and I'll have the gear necessary for 31 on my warlock as well. Leveling the gear will be super easy and I have all the mats already.

Gonna do Crota tomorrow though, maybe twice, hope I get lucky with drops and a good group.

After that I guess I'll work on my titan, have gear for 29 for him so far, just need to level it.

So I'm hearing that Crota's End can drop the entire set of raid gear on Normal. I've seen a few pieces but the claim is that the primary weapons are the only thing locked to HM. No armor this time except maybe the exotic piece that is speculated.
