So, I've now killed Crota like 5 times this week because not a single group I've been in can get the stupid chest before Ir Yut... And, you can't wipe it anymore because you get the check point when you enter the room with the hole. I really hope I can get it tonight. I'd love shards...

I just got my 2nd warlock to 20 a couple days ago and ran him through Crota up to the bridge. I'm going to do the bridge and then do it all again tomorrow on all 3 toons.

I still need 49 shards to hit 32. I have yet to get the boots or gloves but I'm far more focused on the shards.

Someone was telling me Bungie said something to the effect of giving out more pieces of loot and less shards in this raid, making it harder to level up your gear but getting you more of it. That is fine with me, as a second pair of boots or a chest piece means shards anyway.

Sadly, my stuff has no intellect on it and instead has strength. So, that sucks. =(

But, even when you get gear you already have, you can shard it. So, 2-3 shard= gear. You always end up with something you need.

Did through crota bridge on my toons this morning, took about 75 minutes, total:

Warlock 1: 4 shard/4 radiant energy
Warlock 2: 6 Shards/Warlock arms/2 energy
Titan : 2 shards/Titan Arms and 5 energy

Every week it is DLC loot pinata.

I'm guessing, they have a fix but it had to wait until after the holidays for it to be tested. They have 3, 3! portions of the raid that can be solo'd. That is a lot of testing. I don't see this patch coming out anytime soon. It is too big of a change for a weekly hotfix. If they are smart, they do nothing but hot fixes before they release House of the Wolves and save that release window for any quick fixes that need to be done for the DLC.

Let's get crazy: What if this was intentional? Leave the new gear wide open so people see the videos and how easy it is to solo half of the raid. They'll buy the DLC and tell their friends about it who will then also purchase it.

Nexus. Void burn. I solo'd up until the end and did some nightfall bounties. I need to run it 3 times now...

I'm out of town for 10 days starting tomorrow (leaving 3:00am)so no runs for me. I will remote in to my ps4 to see what xur is selling on Friday though.

Decent pvp, challenging raids that really require teamwok. At least VOG was like that, but it was also buggy as hell.

Positives: great engine and game mechanics
fun content, especially raids (some interesting platforming and maze stuff you wouldn't expect in a FPS)
decent weapon variety
fun classes

Negatives:
minimal content, right now (although, expansions / DLC is expanding this)
lots of grinding - both for RNG drops, upgrade materials, and reputation for factions
limited matchmaking system - only works for strikes (3 person dungeons) and nothing else
story is not wonderful and feels largely unfinished - because, it is according to former Bungie Employees

Even with that, I really liked it. It is fun.

Ugh, ran the nightfall last night and got a legendary shotgun... Not as good as the one I got from Crota last week. =( So lame. And, someone in my party with Ice Breaker, got Ice Breaker.

Hope to get some shards this week and my last piece of raid gear. =( Everything I have already is ready for upgrade, just need the shards to do it.

Got Song of Ir Yut machine gun and Black Hammer sniper rifle (great gun) from Crota. Atheon gave me two VoC last night, another guy got Mythoclast and P&T in same drop. Have about 25 radiant energy, zero shards, Eris rep only around 2.75 so can't convert for a while. Long, slow grind, as intended.

I would love to get Black Hammer. I am hoping to do the raid tonight and get my loot. Nightfall didn't give me anything good, and I'm sure the weekly won't either.

Everyone is cheesing Crota.

Kind of ruining the fun when you have to turn off your network to beat a boss.

I haven't cheesed him once. The middle strat is just too easy to bother cheesing.

Nothing from the nightfall, the weekly, or CE except for shards. =(

We cheesed Crota the first time just to see if that crap really worked, with making him stick down on a knee. Absolutely does. We've been legit ever since () It really isn't hard at all with a coordinated group.

Same thing happened with vog. Nobody knew how to use the relic or how the templar fight worked. I had to be relic holder 99% of the time i got ported on atheon and a lot of the time nobody had gjallarhorn or ice breaker so it took forever.

I don't get even doing the cheese to begin with. Crota isn't hard, nor is bridge. Ir Yut is the hardest part of the raid, and you can't cheese that IIRC.

I don't know what extra things they are going to do with HM though. I imagine it is going to be pretty difficult though.

The general consensus is that No Land Beyond is crap, but I might buy it just for shits and giggles. I have like 75 SCs so it won't hurt me much.

I have been waiting for the new Armamentarium to go on sale. I didn't want to upgrade my old one as I knew Arma would be sold again, so why waste glimmer and exotic shard on it. Now if I could only log on dammit.

I have a No Land Beyond, is it is beyond crap. I found it from a Nightfall. It is terrible in every way imaginable. =(

I was really hoping for a good weapon this week. I really need a Gjall. =(

I did hear that the roll for discipline on the heart of praxic fire is better this week. NBD

Speaking of discipline roll, I ended up getting another chest piece in CE the other day with straight disc, rather than disc and strength. So happy! Although, I did waste 7 shards on the other, I was able to recoup 3 via breaking it down. In the 90's on both strength and discipline now, so my grenade and my melee are off CD a lot!
