That's the thing, you gotta get lucky. Are you using destinylfg or what? Surprisingly enough my best group came from GameFAQs, The cesspit of the internet.

Yeah, I use destinylfg and half the time one of the participants is either about 12 or they are a 31 who has never done Crota before. I generally give them the benefit of a doubt and give them a thorough explanation and off we go! After a few fails without even getting to half, I just leave. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Heh I did Crota's End with no explanation and never really watched a video of the legit way. I just followed what everyone else did and I already knew about the totems at the bridge. Crota is actually the easy part, figuring out deathsinger was tougher than that.

The daily? ok It's not too bad if you go down the stairs to recover a bit and pop out to take pot shots.

Yeah, it was the last wave of Knights that don't shoot, but charge at you for melee dmg that did me in.

Dredd. Me 32 him 32. Clear both sides at the start. Both go bottom center, have one person grab the chalice andtag the sword knight and get him to follow you. Get one person to keep tagging him but do not kill until Crota goes right. We kept our sword bearer within two shots of death.

Once Crota goes right, one person grabs the sword and the other shoots Crota with 2 horns. He drops to his knee with a 32/331 ghorn. 4 R2 hits. Pop off and repeat with rockets and sword. By this time, Crota is down to 25%. Kill the ogres and tap the SB. Wait till Crota goes right and you can kill him with .75 sword.

We got it on e s find try, 5-8 minutes tops. 2 people!

Only one horn is needed. But both should be 32.

There is a guy (hunter) who solo'd crota with Ghjal. He killed the SB, ran up, horned Crota twice, picked it up and smacked him, ran back and invis'd and repeated. He did this until he won the game.

Finally got a group last night and we did Crota in 1 shot. Got Ir Yut's machine-gun again and the helm! Finally going to hit 32 on the titan now with a few more shards!

Can't wait for next week when I get to fail repeatedly on hard mode. >_>

I thought about it, but I won't. I don't get Monday off to prepare myself (which is racist!), and I actually don't like not being at work lol.

So is there some use for the ascendant shards and energy we get on the dailies, weeklys and nightfall? Is it just for those low rank ones characters then to upgrade their stuff?
I'm doing the grind and of course keep getting them but I see no point in them anymore or is there something?

Energies: yes. Only the new raid weapons use the new energies. So, all primaries still require them, as well as any of the weapons you buy from rep vendors. Still useful, as those weapons are 331. Armor though, yeah, unless you have a character that isn't 31+, there is no reason for them.

There is plenty use for ascendant energy. All legendary weapons, outside of Crotas End raid drops, require ascendant energy to upgrade. You'll still use plenty of it.

Ascendent shards are the same. All legendary armor, outside of Crotas end raid drops, require ascendant shards to upgrade. This is different though because its not like you're going to upgrade multiple sets of armor like you would weapons. Once you have raid armor, you won't use the old shards much anymore.

Slag, if he wants to do pretty much anything else in the game, I'd recommend the DLC.

Yeah there are lots of things locked out if you don't have the DLC.
