What primary are you using in the video?
Since Destiny has always been bad at explaining what items do in game, what do Motes of light do now, as well as Shards? I haven't played since the first expansion came out.

We picked up the version 2.0 disk at gamestop this weekend and my son loves the "new" destiny. We traded in our old disk. He say's its a completely different game than it was and makes it so much more fun.
Thanks for this a lot, I read about the marks but didn't see anything about the Motes. So the Shards are useless now? Is there a way to trade them in for something like with the old class specific armor material?There are no shards anymore. All items you find now are already at their max armor or attack bonus which is the light level attached to that item. You only level gear up to unlock the perks now. You no longer need shards to do this.
GMotes of light are used to upgrade gear in two ways. First when you infuse an item to make it more powerful you need a few materials and one of those is motes of light. Infusing is taking a stronger item and using it to make a weaker item better. The reason you do this is because exotic and legendary quality items have better perks and abilities on them. You may find a rare quality item that has a higher light level on it. You can take the rare and infuse it to your legendary item and make the legendary item more powerful.
The second is that you can use them directly to level up your gear without getting xp from bounties and killing stuff. Useful if you have a lot of them and use them to level up a legendary you are going to dismantle for legendary marks. Dismantling a year 2 legendary gives you 3 and when it is leveled up you get 5.
Legendary marks are the new currency. You no longer need to get vanguard marks and crucible marks. Legendary marks are good at all the venders for every faction. You can join any faction you want and don't have to wear the class item to get reputation points any longer. You also do not have to do pvp to get faction reputation. Everything that gives vanguard reputation will give 50% of whatever the reputation reward is to your faction at the same time. You can change factions freely for 2500 glimmer once a week.

Not my POV in the vid. but that was the group I did it with/ DedaF is using the scout rifle from Dead Orbit (actually I believe 4 of the 6 of us were all using that same scout rifle
Hung Jury - its pretty much the best PVE wep in the game that's avail to everyone
I have been playing with Zhalo Supercell (Exotic Auto) for the past 2 days and it is so good that it should be banned. I think it has one of the highest DPS, ammo (infinite with double kills), and best perk.
Bolean Gemini is also an awesome Scout where you can have 3x Armor for 15secs upon any body hits.
I am going to try beating Oryx (last part) tonight...hope I get a good group through LFG.
Any advice for new players? There is no point going to crucible if u are a low level right?
Yeah Zhalo is great but it shouldn't be banned. Low impact doesn't kill majors that quick compared to other weapons. I find myself going with Hung Jury & Telesto/1000 Yard Stare combo when stuff counts. On patrol killing trash mobs or certain parts of strikes Zhalo shines.
Actualy, Zhalo is great for majors. I take them down faster than any scout or auto.
Then you probably don't have Hung Jury. I guarantee my 288 Hung Jury smokes the 295 Zhalo I have for majors, and any enemy that isn't fodder. When I'm reloading with my Zhalo because the major didn't go down and there's no opportunity for double kill I would have killed it with the Hung Jury, even with crits.
Once the initial wow factor wore off I took a different viewpoint. . Zhalo is only good for trash mobs to me. It sucks in court runs every time I've used it. Head shots on tier 3 wizards with hung jury for 3k a shot and nearly max stability mean I am never off target. Plus I can equip my telesto when I use it. I like it a lot but it's utility from my point of view is more limited.
How do I find low levels to do some of the first quests? It gets pretty boring roaming around earth and moon by your self.
I've heard the same thing. Still haven't played much with my telesto. Liking ace of spades as well, it kinda reminds me of fatebringer, I was doing work in the crucible with it too.
Gonna try Oryx again this afternoon, hoping for a solid fireteam but its gonna be a random mess most likely.
