there was one LS at firebase hades I somehow missed so I did that one, the Pit I think? that one was rather short too and I had an objective to slay like 70 Cabal anyway.

there were a bunch of players attacking the glimmer drill by the church, naturally unlocking the heroic event and it was very chaotic. at one point I think I was firing into a cloud of smoke and dust with ammo just littered everywhere. i like the public events too because no two end up playing out the same way, despite them being the same objective over and over. i just wish there was a bit more of a variety.

Yeah, wishing the public events had more variety. Also I find far too often I'm the only one around and trying to solo some of them is quite difficult.

Pledged to FWC, the weapons are pretty badass! The handcannon just destroys stuff and even the sniper rifle is pretty good. Plus they have fun colors. I generally don't care about shaders, and usually use them just to use up glimmer.

Speaking of glimmer, I keep maxing out on it. Am I supposed to be using it for anything?

Also, has anyone gotten some "level 265" drops that end up decrypting at level 10? Had that happen a couple times and not sure if that's a bug or on purpose. It's not really been anything I've wanted so no big deal.

Edit: I actually like crucible, although the trails of the nine are rough. Oddly enough the sidearm 'last hope' is kinda amazing in crucible. I guess cause it has a really high fire rate, stable as hell, and decent amount of rounds. Lincoln Green is also awesome.

2) Glimmer will be used quickly when you start adding mods to your gear at lv280. It costs a lot to add a legendary mod to a piece of armor or a weapon and creating them in the game also costs quite a bit to get the ones you want. I went from 100k to 2k in about 3 minutes.
3) Some items are level 10 on purpose. You have to infuse it up to use it. Basically take any blue drop you get and infuse to the piece that is lv10. Usually they are trials stuff from eververse which is the real money system for cosmetic items. I did get a gun from a clan engram for trials that was lv10.

Nightfall this week is so much fun! Grenade spam, class skill spam (several titan walls or warlock rifts at the same time ) and no way to extend the timer. One of the runs we did with Rage187 and cmdrdredd was 3x warlocks Lightning was shooting left and right, pulse grenades, nova bombs I highly recommend people try it

On a less positive note, I got 6 pairs of 305 boots, 3 305 snipers, 2 305 shotguns... RNG can sometimes be evil

Is there a Xbox Clan here? I know there was a group of us that played the first one, but now that most people have moved to PS4 I'm not sure who's playing on the Xbox. I'd really like to find some people to play with as i've reached that point where I really want to do the Nightmare stuff and most importantly... I'd like to a RAID. just one at least (I have a quest for it) as I never got the chance in the first Destiny. I'm normally playing around 4-6pm PST and 9-11pm PST during the week. Weekends are touch and go depending on what the woman is doing. During the week I play before she gets home from work and then after she goes to bed (she's up much earlier than I so she's in bed way earlier) just some info for those keeping their logs on my movements up to date..

Either way.. I'm Skel Re on Xbox so if anyone has a clan or wants to start one please let me know.. I really really want to do the RAID at least once... oh, and I should mention I'm a Titan that's around 272 depending on which power item I've equipped (lowest is 270) .

1) tried that and it only works some of the time.
2) ah, yes I forgot about mods. I just got over 280 recently so I unlocked them. Wish banshee had a thing about it.
3) I think it was a bug per the patch notes for next Monday, although some have come from the bright engrams.


If anyone wants to do nightfall I'd love an invite.

Fast travel takes me out of the current "server" I'm in so many times the public event will be gone if I fast travel so I'll usually just sparrow it over there.

I’m talking about being in position and nobody there. Many events happen right next to fast travel points. All it does is re-instance you. I’ve also been able to finish an event quickly enough that when I fast travel there is another one in progress and I can do it again right away.

Finally killed Calus yesterday. I think the mechanics of each encounter are fun, but the last boss requires a lot of cooperation and precision. We kept wiping because of people "inside" getting glitches or strange spawns. "Outside" was straightforward enough. Gauntlet took a bit for me to understand, but the others were really cool with explaining it and wiping a few times. We got baths in second try and dogs on second try too. But Calus took like... I don't know... 30 tries or something. People were almost giving up... Then we got him down

All in all, very fun! But I hope the inside mechanics at the last boss get tweaked to be more forgiving...

A few times when farming faction tokens on Titan, after doing an event, zoning to a lost sector, zoning out, the same encounter was still ongoing and I was doing it again less than a minute after ending the last one. So yes, I can confirm the same. Zoning (via fast travel or area change) can get you into an instance where the same event is still happening even if you just finished it in another instance of the same area. Quite cool

Annoying that you can't pick a playlist in Crucible like practically every other FPS. It doesn't even have to be super granular, just allowing people to choose between objective (control, countdown) and non-objective (clash, survival, even supremacy) would be a big plus in my book.

People mind sharing their crucible loadouts outside of the common Mida/Uriel's Gift combo? Kinetic seems to be mostly MIDA or one of the top auto rifles. Energy has more variety. What's working for people?

Interesting - not familiar with the bottom 2 kinetics but will check them out. Surprised you don't have a MIDA rifle combo like what feels like every one.

Cause I don’t play trials where the map favors long sight lines and I really play casually for the weekly milestone. Also because at medium range nightshade, origin Story, Uriel’s Gift win in TTK. Plus at longer range I can usually kill Mida users with Mannanan SR4. I’ve also beat Mida users with nameless midnight. Explosive rounds help on both these scout rifles but it really depends on the player. I tried Mida+Uriel’s like everyone else but I found I did poorly compared to any of my above setups. You can swap scathlock in for origin story and have a little more stability. I also tried ghost primus and found it to be more fun but not as stable and it suffers from shorter range.

I swear sometimes I want to shotgun people down during public events. The game has been out a month now, you are not level 5, there is NO excuse to not try to turn every event to a heroic.

It's probably people that are as quickly as possible trying to complete the weekly public event stuff that don't care.

recently started working on my other character, hunter from D1. really being more careful with resources and boosting weapons more effectively. also started playing with a regular fireteam, which is much more fun.

also, might be a dumb question but has that Taken strike on EDZ that ends at the dam always in the game??? played that one for the first time earlier tonight; never even knew about it though the one with Brakus Zahn was the only Earth strike.

Heroic event is worth twice as much progress and doesn't really take any longer (sometimes it's even faster than the regular one!). And considering you have to find another one, fast travel, wait for it to start, etc, it is by far the most optimal way of progressing with the week's flashpoint milestone. Pisses me off too each time lvl20s mess up not triggering them and just being too fast with killing the walker, not attacking the taken big ball or not shooting the vents. The other ones at least you can easily trigger yourself, even if the others have no clue what to do.

Yes, it has always been there. I think it's the PS4 exclusive one? Cause all the others have been nightfalls already (and those are the same on all platforms).

I'm not even sure how to turn every event into heroic. I know there's at least one where you shoot the ship, but is that true for all of them? /shrug.. the main problem I have is that I'm normally the only guardian at the event. Every once and again there will be 2-3 of us, but normally its just me trying not to die.

I don't even know what this means. You get 20% what per heroic event. Increased glimmer? Reputation? Chance at exotics? What's "flashpoint"? Seriously, we need a manual for this....
