It appears that on Dec 5 we will finally see the HDR update. This coincides with the release of the expansion. For anyone with an XB1X, the game will be rendered natively at 4k rather than checkerboard rendering like the PS4 Pro uses.

Nothing on my regular ps4... TV doesn't switch to hdr mode and no options in game either. Works ok in other games for me. I've seen people report that it doesn't work for them on their pros either and Bungie said "we know and are working on it".

So basically they screwed up they only had since launch to get it working.

Also don’t like how so much stuff is tied to the eververse Microtransaction system

I like some changes like the sound effects and a couple of the new ghost shells. However most of the new weapons are just bad and people are gonna end up using the same stuff again and just infusing them up. Also I think all of the new shaders, armor ornaments, most of the new ships, and the new armor I've seen so far are flat out ugly. Seems like most of the new exotics are useless from what I've read too. Kind of a useless expansion if you ask me.

I also don't think they even play test the game because the Prometheus Lens exotic weapon is broken. Bungie says it shipped with a bug but I don't buy that. They just released it without even trying it out. In PvP this weapon can kill you in 2 seconds from any distance and when you kill an enemy it reloads.

I want that had cannon (Crimson). It's the new red death from D1, one of my all time favorites from the first game.

And I want to try the whole masterworks weapons stuff... Also, I like some of the new titan armor, but there's nothing new on it... Just ornaments which are cosmetic, so it's useless...

But Mercury feels boring and tiny. One event and the infinite forest and that's it. And in the forest I skip stuff when possible... Not a good thing in a game about shooting stuff and farming loot... It's like a dark sector, just more annoying (at least so far, need to try some heroics).

But I totally agree... Buggy and untested code, underwhelming story and boring so far... Feels like zero care was taken so far during development, which is such a shame... But let's see after I try all the rest and get some new and unique weapons and armor with new stuff.

On hunter the armor and ornaments are really disgusting looking lol. Haven’t seen warlock stuff yet, maybe tonight if I have time. I do like that one auto rifle you can pick up from the story. It’s kind of like Uriel’s gift with more range. Not very exciting but at least it’s something.

As for the story. Why wasn’t Osiris a bigger part of it? One of the most important people in the entire Destiny universe and you only get a couple cut scenes with him and they could have made him look more like a warrior too. So much wasted potential there.

All the focus was on cosmetic stuff and that’s not a good thing. If I didn’t already have the expansion pass I may hesitate to buy into this. Lots of people are not happy with it. It’s a really good thing I like the shooting mechanics.

bungie.net has the ability to filter clans that are recruiting by platform. You can also get recruited by doing well in the Crucible. I've gotten more invites there than off bungie.net. I'm not sure how you can sort out which clans are the most active. I do find that depending on who's in it will be who's around to do things. I've still yet to do a Raid.. which is really annoying.. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure I've played with anyone in my clan past my recruitment. YMMV

I believe there is also a reddit thread for finding a clan. Don’t forget that after you join a clan the destiny companion app has a clan chat function where they can setup events.

Flashpoint Mercury is terrible, even with the yellow bar enemies to kill for 3 or 4% each. It was/is far faster on other planets it feels like.

I don't totally mind it. It's kinda fun finding all these yellows/orange vex and cabal mobs to fight, and sometimes there are imprisoned cabal mobs you can release and are pretty strong.

I'd rather be able to do public events because it's more rewarding and faster. Plus the enemies are just bullet sponge versions of normal trash.

It feels like bungie made getting meaningful progress harder than before. I see fewer drops from everything than before the latest update. Even Blues are more rare, specifically from Public Events. It seems like they nerfed the exotic drop rate, added 3 of coins to increase the drop rate but the new drop rate including the bonus is still way lower than previously. It's so bad that people have taken to reddit and elsewhere to voice the complaint that 3oC is actually broken or not working. Someone even suggested that it does nothing or even lowers your drop rate as a way to get people to spend their shards. Spending the entire 4 hours with 3oC active and getting no exotic in that time from any activity. After the coin wears off getting an exotic from an event within the next hour. Doesn't help the case that it's an increased chance.

Bungie has never done anything close to this in past games. They have been pretty clear in their opposition to things like micro transactions previously. The bills for Destiny are being paid by Activision so while I don’t believe Bungie has zero responsibility here, I think the overlords are putting their hands where they don’t belong in the name of profit. Anything to keep people playing longer looks good on them.

The Dawning event starts today. Some new armor and cosmetic stuff but it's all tied to eververse. Man, this game keeps getting worse and worse for me lol

TBH the only reason i boot the game up now is to collect free clan engrams
i haven't played a single second of the DLC (i will at some point as i paid for it)

I skipped like a week. I don't play as much as I did but I have all of this week off until I start my new job and nothing else to play lol

Tip/Cheat: For the Dawning Gift quests when collecting materials (datalattice, dusklight etc). Collect 1 of the required material and return to the tower. Put it in your vault and retrieve it. Each time you do, it will count as 1 toward the quest. You don't actually have to farm the materials.
