I rolled one with 10 engrams... And exotic don't count, got 2 exotics and 6 legendary since I picked up the quest for that day... Only counted 6/10...

OMG!! Thanks!!Tip/Cheat: For the Dawning Gift quests when collecting materials (datalattice, dusklight etc). Collect 1 of the required material and return to the tower. Put it in your vault and retrieve it. Each time you do, it will count as 1 toward the quest. You don't actually have to farm the materials.

I use a tracking ghost and a sniper with max range. Shows me everything... Takes like 10 minutes to gather.Bah...it doesn't really work. It was reported elsewhere and I just tried it and nope lol

Does anyone feel like Crucible matchmaking has gotten worse recently? It used to be that I could jump in solo in quickplay and still have a decent amount of fun - probably win 50% of the matches. Some games you get decent teammates and win, other games you get horrible teammates and lose, but overall you won some and you lost some.
I played over the holidays a few times solo and simply got wrecked, even in quickplay. 4/5 games I get teammates who seem like they've never picked up a controller vs 4 high level teammates (going by destinytracker elo). I'm talking about teammates going 0.1 efficiency with 3 kills against full teams with players with elo sometimes in the top couple hundred. A couple games l can understand being so unbalanced but out of 20 games I probably had about 16 of the above, 2 competitive games (even odds), and 2 straightforward wins.
Is the PvP community so small now that it's forcing these horrible matchups of teams vs randoms, regardless of skill level?
I'm not a great player but I generally help more than hurt and when I do play with friends we definitely win more than we lose. But I don't see how anyone can possibly play solo these days and have fun. I'm normally don't care much if I win or lose as long as it's entertaining, but this was just spirit crushing.
I'm fine with skill based match making - it's more that it felt reasonably fair in the past but this past week (maybe since the dawning update) that it's been wildly out of wack. More than half the games I play are against good teams and I put up some reasonable stats (1.5-2 efficiency) but the rest of my teammates go sub 0.5 while the entire other team goes 2-4.The matchmaking is based on skill. If you start winning or have a high rating a few times then you will be matched with better players. So it balances out in the end.

Yesterday I ran a heroic strike, the arms dealer. Shortly after completing the first section (where you open the door and fight in the more open/outside area), I had my super ready (titan striker). I didn't notice at first until I used it and my brother asked how I got it so fast. I had no idea.
The only thing I can think of is that I was close to leveling up for next illuminated engram and I'm wondering if leveling up gives you an instant super, and other class abilities (grenade, melee, ability), etc.
Can anyone confirm if that's true? Otherwise, how would I have gotten my super filled within the first minute of the strike?
Yes when you level up you get all your abilities charged. I've used my super, killed the boss for a public event, leveled up and got it right back.
I haven't played for quite a while, but I'll probably jump back in once this latest expansion is out.
Tons of people left the game in general regardless of platform. More so than the first one.I haven't touched the console version of the game since PC dropped... how's the PS4 crowd? It was nuts when the game first launched.

The first game was able to keep the hardcore players around, this one, anyone but big destiny fans have mostly stopped playing and will only come back on every big update or dlc release.
