hysperion -- AFAIK, the worldwide packaging is the same. The SLI-D appears to only be sold outside the US/Canada, however.
walkure -- The answers to your questions have been added to the original post. FrontX is a breakout box for your 5.25" bays that adds additional ports, and yes "UV" does mean ultraviolet -- they'll glow if exposed to blacklight.
Fonzi -- Any memory that is of decent quality should be compatible with this motherboard. If you're looking at overclocking, obviously you're going to be wanting some higher-speed lower-latency modules. There has been reports that BH-5 modules work just a bit better than the TCCD ones.
