The trailer did mention battle.net, so I don't think there's going to be a monthly fee.

Looks like the focus will be on environment and PvP. I doubt this will be MMO. They will probably raise the player cap per game.

Barbarian kinda looks like an orc. Was pretty much expecting this, but WOW (no pun, and no, not shortform), this is awesome. Hope it runs on my POS computer. Havoc physics so I guess we can look forward to Company of Heroes-ish effects... Can't wait.

It's going to be played using battle.net which basically says online play is free.

Oooh, they are 'greedy' because they chose to follow the same model that had been in MMOs for years before they made WoW.

Finally seen some screenshots. They aren't anything to write home about, but then again, neither was Diablo II. Going to come down to gameplay, which I doubt will be a problem.

Every gamer has their video game crack, and the diablo series has been mine. Now I am checking this site every 5 minutes while rocking back and forth in my chair hoping for a release date or similar. Damnit Damnit Damnit. Blizzard this is your fault.

That seems to be unlikely as Blizzard just open up their own online store. One can only hope though.

i would be really suprised if they have a monthy fee. they didnt for Diablo II did they?

the backlash for a monthly fee (such as hellgate london did) would be big. its not a MMO and shouldn't have a monthly fee.

HG:L only added the monthly fee (from what I gather) because they were a new studio and needed the cash. Blizz can certainly afford free online, and unless they make B.net a pay service (doubtful, I recall them saying B.net will ALWAYS be free), D3 will be free as well.

How I understand you... Its horrible, on one hand Im excited as hell, on the other hand, I know it will take any life I have away and I should really avoid playing it

ITs just impossible to play Diablo "casually"... I can imagine many sleepless nights already

Oh boy, and the race for the #1 in the ladder once it starts lol damn! Need to get a clone to do my business in real life while I play it

By the time this game is we will have had 2-3 more generations of video cards on the market, andDX 11 will be out unless MS doesnt upgrade DX in Windows 7.

Also I see no mention of DX10.1 or Havok on their website. Their FAQ plainly states, they are using a custom physics engine, so either they modified Havock a great deal, or they are using their own. Now they could have mentioned it during their event, but I didnt see/hear it.

There is, if you read the FAQ, Online Multiplayer is done through Battle.Net just as in previous games.
