The most disappointing thing for me so far? The fact that the entire game's story has been spoiled for me. The worst part is that it wasn't by anyone on here or a friend... it was from Blizzard's own damn achievement window. I finished Act III, and nothing that occurred was a surprise, because it's pretty damn reflected in the text under General > Conversations.
In other words, if you care anything about experiencing the story,
DO NOT LOOK AT THOSE ACHIEVEMENTS.
Rare rings sell for a ton on the AH. I've been trying to get a pair of nice ones with dex/attack speed/vit or another decent stat for DH and they are all really expensive.
Yeah, I've considered buying rings before, but they're just simply too expensive. I've heard that +damage is the best stat, and at least Blizzard's UI seems to confirm that to a degree. I have a level 13 +3-6 damage ring, and I believe it was a +36 dexterity ring that couldn't even best it.
Is anybody else annoyed about the fact that you can't switch acts via the waypoint portals like you could in D2?
Why would you want to switch acts? Also, you can switch to a different act by selecting a different quest on the main character screen.
Edit: Oh, and what kinda pings/latency are you guys getting? Mine has been averaging around 300, but I've seen higher and lower than that. I'm on 20/2 cable, and not sharing the connection with anybody else. It is running through a router, but my desktop is the only device on the router (I connect my cell phone through the wi-fi occasionally).
I'm not surprised. I used to see latency similar to this in World of Warcraft, and it only was reduced heavily when they introduced that larger data send feature. I don't know the exact networking behind it, but WoW's latency went from between 150-250ms to 30-50ms.
Although, I find the greatest amount of warping comes after you unpause the game (ESC menu for example). My assumption is that this is pretty much because of the latency. Pausing the game has to tell Blizzard's server to stop making mobs and everything else perform actions, and we're allowed to unpause and move immediately, but we had to send an "unpause command" to Blizzard's server.
It's kind of like how in WoW, if you start lagging, you can still move, but once the game "catches up", you'll warp back to where it last had you.
