Legendary items are a joke.

The first I found in A1 Inferno from a barrel - a 381 dps crossbow. The second in A2 Inferno (from a barrel again) - a 420something dps crossbow.

Now both of those wouldn't be bad to use around level 30-40, but they both require lvl 55+ (think one is 59). 381 dps at 55 is retarded.

381 is still about 100 more than the best DPS lv50 2h weapon I've seen on the AH. At 55 it's definitely not good DPS, but common...30-40?

I'm guessing additional item prefixes and suffixes will be added in the expansions. Perhaps more gems (sapphires?) as well. There is still the possibility for jewels and charms, too.

It was fun to recognize the voice of Dominic Keating as the Templar. Some of you may recognize him as Lieutenant Malcolm Reed from Star Trek: Enterprise.

I'm also enjoying the randomly spawned side quests. I did see the Jar of Souls event on the first day, but the achievement was lost when the server issues were occurring.

For those that haven't played WoW, how does someone get the Blizzard Authenticator?

it's the few random magic properties on a Legendary that make them 98% bad, 1% ok, 1% extremely good

Legendary supply is obviously much less than the magic/rare supply so there's going to be less opportunities to roll godly stats on a Legendary item, but I think some Legendaries can become the best item in a game if it manages to roll amazing magic properties

Go look up the perfect legendaries and they are barely any better than average rares.

I found my very first Legendary a few minutes ago.

The thing is... it's the Normal difficulty. I'm in Act III, it dropped from a skeleton mob in some indoor barracks, can't recall the map's name. Now that reminds me of how it felt like back in D2 to find a Unique in Normal, but of course they were usually useless. It's still fun to find one though, eventually I knew them (in D2) by heart. Now the Legend I found was a Level 21 ring I think it was... not sure about its level, but pretty much in line with the mobs' level I was fighting there, the name was "Stolen Ring". There was a short "back story" about it written at the bottom of the ring's stats. I thought it was neat to give some story to a unique item hehe (are they all like that?).

Anyway, just like in D2, it was fun to find a Legend in Normal, but it was useless to my characters (all of them wouldn't use it, they have better Rares already). So I sold it at the AH (yes, the AH worked, I feel lucky today!). It kinda feels bad to sell a Legend I couldn't even use since it was useless even for my Normal characters... it was also the case in D2 but I still find that loot system kinda useless (not "broken" per se). There's two extremes, either they remove "useless" Legends from the Normal mobs' loot table and only leave the "useful" ones (and each time a Legend drops you're pretty much guaranteed it's going to be good for your characters), or they leave things as is and each time a Legend drops you're pretty much guaranteed it's going to be useless, but you keep the "gambling" effect intact.

What I mean is you play to find loot. When you do find it you either sell it or keep it, otherwise if the items were always useful almost none would be sold to others whom might be able to use it themselves, therefor leaving a very meager market for trade and items exchange within the Legend items category (in other words, if Legends were almost always useful for any of your character, you'd pretty much always keep it, unless you'd happen to not have a character class that could benefit from the item). The only moment such useful items would be sold would be of course when it's time to get something better (item stats being too low for your higher character level, therefor higher items stats requirements).

Connect the dots together:

Blizzard can play foul by creating items out of thin air to sell for $$$ with absolutely no possibility of detection. It wouldn't be a dependable revenue stream like WoW subscriptions, but one cannot deny the potential of abuse is already there.

Blizzard could "create something of thin air" any time they want, they could put whatever items etc. on their site and sell for whatever price they want - as they do in WoW with mounts already. Where, please, is that "abuse"?

Another point is...did it ever occur to you that the real money AH is actually something where YOU can make money...that could go as far as at some time someone making back the entire amount they paid for the game by selling stuff on the AH or possibly even more? (Whether its enough to "make a living" remains to be seen, tho)

Always this negativity...cheezus...

By the way
If blizz puts a fugly sparkling mount on their site and sells it for $29, no one is fricking forced to buy it..i myself never bought any items from blizzard...or will someone force you to buy any item from the AH?

I just dont understand the legendaries if they arent as good as a good rare. Not impressed with them, and they arent nearly as rare as they should be. Wow they look cool and may have an ability mod in them, so special

not rare? I'm 90hours on the clock with my character and I only found 2. The problem with legendaries is that they are just pure crap, worse than blue items. In general d3 itemization is crap.

I miss the "Cruel" prefix on magical items from D2. That, and I also miss Ethereal items. They had no durability, they'd break after their durability expired, but they dealt +50% base damage, and wouldn't break at all when equipped on hirelings, same with Ethereal armor, +50% base defense. I also miss Jewels and Charms. Not to mention that I miss the crafted items of D2, they had their specific color (orange), and their specific crafted-unique sets of magic bonus combinations (specific combinations of existing bonuses found on other items, but uniquely combined together only found on crafted items). What I think the crafting system of D3 dearly lacks of is very much that (I.E. being unique and ending up creating very unique combinations of magical bonuses put together with randomized values), and why is it that the D3 team "didn't see that" is still beyond me.

Can anyone remember D2's crafted Blood Gloves for melee characters? We had crafted-specific "Hit Power", "Blood", "Caster" and "Safety" combinations of bonuses. I remember the Blood types the most since I mostly played with my Barb. I also remember ending up with a near perfect pair of crafted Vampirebone Gloves with +20% Increased Attack Speed, +10% Crushing Blow (man that was so awesome for melee), 3% Life Leech and +15 to Life (max to Life was +20 on Blood gloves). To have IAS (Increased Attack Speed), combined with Crushing Blow going to 10% max along with extra Life (and other random bonuses added after those three coming from the crafting itself) was what made crafting something unique in D2, and you could truly come out with something great, usually at least "comparable to" high-end uniques, if not totally better.

Look at the AH and youll see thousands of the same legendary, they arent exactly rare if you ask me, not like zod or something like that from d2

that was true of legendaries in D2 as well, I don't see what the problem is. I'm sure some legendaries are less common than others.

i've never had any of my accounts compromised... ever. including non-games.

i didn't even know what an authenticator was until i checked the forums.

i honestly wouldn't care much since i get a rollback, except for the fact that i only get two rollbacks, and after my second one i'm banned from the cash AH.

so far everyone getting hacked, including the people in this thread, have NOT had authenticators, right?

sorry, but if you dont have an authenticator by now...

sucks for sure, but i dont understand why you are getting mad at blizzard.

Is Act 1 Inferno ridiculously easy or is it just me?

My first way through, I pretty much 1-2 shot every normal monster and don't really struggle with elites other than those with invulnerable minions+reflect damage.

The butcher took me 2 minutes to kill.

For whatever reason, I found this game to get easier as I play through the difficulties because you start picking up more gold and can dump that into better gear.

P.S. I have never spent over 300,000 credits on a single item and most of my items cost bellow 150,000. Almost all my gear has +1xx vitality,+1xx dexterity (except a few which are +50/+100 or +100/+50, etc. All sockets have Amethysts for max vitality.

I think that if anybody says their account was compromised, they need to answer the following questions:

1. Did you have an authenticator on your account before it was compromised?
2. Is your computer scanned regularly for virus, malware, and/or rootkits?
3. Is your battle.net password strong, i.e. does it have at least 3 of the following 4: capital letters, lowercase letters, numbers, special characters.
4. Is your battle.net password shared with any other accounts you have across the internet, most importantly, your email account?

The only way I'd believe that Blizzard has been compromised internally is if the answers are yes, yes, yes and no.

show me it on youtube. and who do you play? normal moster are easy but unique bosses are not, I've got a WD with 25k dmg I can do shit. and just try act 4 and then say inferno is easy. 1-2hits from normal monster and you're a goner. Playing the way that is possible is tedious and definitely not how diablo3 was designed to give fun. The game style should be like on nightmare with melee characters actually able to take some hits and not doing quests by corpse hopping. The game is broken.

Any high level experienced DH's in hell/inferno here? I think I want to make one, seeing as how they are one of the most op classes in the game(the most?).

I need to know what type of items and gear to go for. Maybe a few ss's to your gear might help. Using 1 handed weps or what?

Maybe a link to your skills spec too would be appreciated. I want to see what abilities the higher level players use.

On that same note, anyone around who would want to rush me? I can return the favor.

maybe the least underpowered. The game is really fun until you get to inferno, then there's nothing fun about playing on inferno. Aside fro inferno I just hate how they generated items for this game. It's stupid that magic items are so much more powerful than legendary. Legendary should gain some unique properties. For example legendary item for WD.

450dps perfect? that's pathetic
http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/item/last-breath

It's really crap, it easily should have double the damage(dps). You can buy better weapons for 50k in AH.

two words for you: glass cannon. i do ~63k dps, have ~31k life, ~200 all resists, and get one shotted by everything in inferno.
