Yeah so I have never had an account compromised on anything I have used ever...
So of course within a few days of buying diable3 the account there has had interesting things happen to it. (with pass way past what anyone would normally do and now even farther past that)
Does there servers/security really suck that bad?

Well, I am near the end of Act II in Nightmare, and haven't received anything of usefulness via drops. I didn't initially like the Auction House for procuring items, but the game is more fun when I spend some of my money on bigger and better gear. I've started selling some stuff too, and it adds an element to the game I didn't think I'd use. But I am enjoying it. Can't imagine using the real money AH though ...

i finished normal with my wizard (lvl 38), now im in act2 almost finishing with her and in act 1 with my lvl 33 WD

i had so much trouble killing enemies with my wizard, all my stuff came from playing. then a friend gave me a weapon cause he said i was doing too little damage. so i equipped it and dps went to hell.
I didnt think that the little number of the weapon damage could really make such a difference.
I had a 1 weapon 35 dps + offhand and i changed it to a ~100 2handed staff. And my damage went from 250 to 700. I couldnt believe it lol

So i switched to my WD, checked the AH for a 2handed weapon with a socket and intelligence. I was using 1hand + mojo with 45dps and changed ito a ~80 2handed and the damage went super high too like 650. Now its a walk in the park

Btw, i used to think that summoning WD sucked but i just found a little mechanic that seems to be working great. Zombie dogs with the zombie dogs passive (lets you have 4 and 5% of respawning one when an enemy dies close) + sacrifice (explodes all the zombie dogs for like 250% weapon damage with the rune of 35% chance of respawning a zombie dog) + gargantua and its being great fun

go into a pack of enemies, blow up your zombie dogs... EVERYTHING DIES and maybe 1 or 2 dogs respawn alone. if not, cast again zombie dogs. If i go against an elite with my 4 zombie dogs and blow them up its 250% weapon damage x 4 (80 wd x 5 intellignce x 2,5 skill = 1000 damage for each dog)

im a genious i know (?)

Yeah it works don't it =). A 1h + focus or mojo can also be good, but you gotta find 2 decent items instead of 1.

LOL I have nothing now. My monk is totally naked. Goddamnit. And no, I haven't registered at any strange websites.

Although I was logged into my account when the power in my house went out last night. I wonder if that has anything to do with it...

I got that same issue, but I did a normal log out so that's not it.

You guys must of have glossed over my question !!;p

Are there any weapon adjectives you look out for or have noticed being superior to others?

i.E. (Adjective) staff of (Name)

Ah, you mean prefix and suffix on items

Yeah sorry I had to correct it (that's just in "Diablo's language", it's for nerds like me).

Well, it's a good question though, I don't know which one of the "useful" prefixes nor suffixes are by heart for D3 yet. I do clearly remember how the "Cruel" prefix and "Quickness" suffix in D2 were popular though, hmmm, yeah... a Cruel Colossus Blade of Quickness. The thing is that magical (blue) items (or even gray and whites, especially for Runewords) in D2 could sometimes be useful.

In D3 they are "useful" only if for some reason you can't spend some time at the AH to buy yourself a set of Rare items instead, some of which are incredibly cheap (below 1K Gold each if you look for them by filter or stay patient enough to buy them when they do pop) and will make you much, much stronger and efficient at everything you do, compared to what you can do with only blue items equipped.

Finally beat Inferno Belial last night. Took about 50 tries with groups.

The last phase, my group had about 12 rez's. This monk had some thing that made him invulnerable for a few seconds, and he would rez us.

Wiz - 23k health, 22k dmg (unbuffed), 400+ all resists

First elite pack I run into on A3 inferno are those big guys with the hammers that buff the smaller guys - took literally 400 hits per elite to take them down (and about 15 minutes). Inferno is retarded.

It can get to 7 seconds? How do you do that?

I'm looking for good monk builds if anyone would like to share.

Grats. My Barb was useless in Inferno (if I want to tank I will play WoW) and so I rolled a WD. 24k dps on the WD and crap still annihilates me as dogs are usless and the Gargantuan can take a few hits but he is about useless half the time as well.

man now i need to find at least +50 resist to all armor pieces ugh. no money.
i've given up my 2h 23kdps staff *buffed* and 18k hp for a 1 hander and shield, to try and survive
more than 1 hit , my stats are now 19k dps *buffed* and 23k hp. i seem to be doing a little better in inferno dungeon runs.

Barbarian?

How does it feel to have a class that you played from Normal Act 1 through Hell Act 4 then have to change how you play and all your gear due to the retardedness of Inferno?

Edit:

Here is the spec I am using as my Barb and still get roasted in Act 1 Inferno:

tl;dr - Can anyone help me understand the nuances of magic find? Links are much appriciated if you have suggested reads!

I've read that changing equiped skills and spells before bosses has a detrimental effect on magic find, and thus the quality of loot dropped is lower. However, changing equiped gear will not have a negative impact. This is confusing because I was under the impression each RNG event was completly seperate from all others. One suggestion was to switch out equipment in my build before opening certain chests to increase magic find... sounds like a lot of hassle to me. Does anyone do this?

Anyway, I feel like such a dunce. I have a lvl 30 wizard and have been focusing my gear only on vitality, intelligence, and damage. Turns out, magic find % has a HUGE impact on the quality of loot found in the game. I was playing with two buddies yesterday and they both have 101% magic find. They both had great gear without using AH, and one had 3 set items and a legendary as a lvl 27 WD. I think I'm going to start a new demon hunter and prioritize magic find.

whats the fastest way to lvl? Im starting a new char and dont really feel like grinding the entire game again. What quests give the most xp and are worth doing over a few times to get fast lvls?

is it just me or is it so much easier to solo than to play with other people? i feel like there's no incentive to hop into a public game. there isn't much socializing going on either way.

maybe if they gave like a magic find bonus for fuller groups or something...

Currently in Act3 of Hell have not used the AH for a single thing. It isn't needed at all really so the complaining about it is kinda a joke. Just don't use it if it offends your gamer sensibilities.

I've also played multiple public games with randoms and do not use an authenticator and have had zero issues with hacking. Usually runa round 150-200 latency and everything has been great.

Also from what I understand Inferno is a challenge mode not really regular progression and considering

"1.9% of characters have unlocked Inferno difficulty"

It's doubtful people have even seen enough of it to see what items actually drop.

I also find it funny that people have mentioned, here and on the official forums, that there are only a few viable builds. Then Blizzard releases this tidbit
"The most common level 60 build in the game is only used by 0.7% of level 60 characters of that class (not including Passive diversity)"

Rainbow Tables, kids... it's not just picnic decor in My Little Pony!

See, if I would have remembered the name of the actual method, I could have made a far shorter post.

I had to double check rainbow tables to make sure we were on the same page.
Which brought up another thing I also sort-of forgot: salting. I'd seriously hope Blizzard is at least created salted hashes.

I'm pretty sure that's what helped make the lastpass "hack" essentially a non-issue - they demand a decent-length minimal password, and iirc they uses salted hashes. They weren't overly worried about anyone getting their hands on a large number of salted hashes, and likely expected it to happen at some point. Of course, pioneering fiends did get hold of quite a few, but with the length of the plaintext password and their servers only holding salted hashes, it would take essentially a massive State-sponsored computing center of a first-world nation to even consider running such a thing on a large number - just in hope of finding an account that has a goldmine of valuable accounts in their "password vault".

Yay for AH.

Sold a Manajuma's Ritual Cutter for somewhere in the region of 495k gold after Blizzard take their random 15% cut. Clicked send to stash, nothing happened, gold didn't arrive in stash. Over 90 minutes later, no money in stash, no item in Completed section, no note of it in logs.

Ticket sent to Blizzard.

This applies at level 60. Each time you kill one of the champion packs, you receive a stack of Nephalem Valor, giving you additional magic find for 30 mins. Changing skills removes the buff.

I also find it funny that people have mentioned, here and on the official forums, that there are only a few viable builds. Then Blizzard releases this tidbit

On itemization:
One problem we’ve seen -- and intend to correct quickly -- is players comparing high-level Magic (blue) items to lower-level Legendary items as “proof” of an imbalance. To help correct misconceptions of the actual stat budgets allocated to items, we’ll be exposing item levels (ilvl) of 60+ items in patch 1.0.3. Comparing an ilvl 63 blue to an ilvl 60 Legendary will hopefully make a bit more sense afterward. In addition, we’re planning to just straight-out buff Legendary items in a future patch, likely the PvP patch (1.1). These buffs will not be retroactive, and so they’ll only apply to new Legendary items found after the patch. In the long term, we’re looking at simply expanding the affix diversity and unique bonuses of Legendary items, and we’ll be able to share more details after the PvP patch.

Also the first major patch with include PvP. I wish they'd say more on the security issue because I just had another friend lose all his gear/gold this morning.
