i wish they would treat the AH like the WoW AH, god it would be so much better if i could list thinks that way and search for items by name

the 10 item limit is also crap, its not stopping people from listing 1000 of the same item, making it unlimited listing would just drop prices to decent levels and not stupid ones

Yes the 10 item limit is crap, i have 5 or 6 mule toons now all FULL with rares in their bags because i cannot even put them in the AH due to this limit.

The irony, the "professional" gold sellers etc. they would just make multiple accounts and put 100s or 1000s of items in there..and the normal people have this stupid 10 items limit.

Inferno is going to own me.

I assume you guys posting your 20k+ DPS stats are lvl 60 ? If not I am woefully under-geared.. I think Im at about 8k dps, 22k HPS IIRC most of the gear I am wearing is 45-54. I re-geared around 51 + plan on saving my cash from 54-60 then regearing at 60. My 2h right now is lvl 51 around 400dps IIRC

Sucks about the hacks, will have to look into the authentication thing. I only have a BB though, so not really a "Smart" phone.. More like a high functioning retard phone

If you use a weak password for a major online multiplayer game, you're inviting yourself to get hacked.

My PW: 10 chars, with 7 letters (mix of upper and lower case), 2 numbers, and 1 special character. Good luck.

Thats fair and its funny people think those getting hacked is actually from traditional methods like phising or keyloggers and that an authenticatior is going to help prevent from the current methods people are using to steal accounts, they wont. That is not what is going on here.

The current exploit people are using to gain access to accounts happens AFTER they are logged in. Password strength or authenticator isnt going to help if the vulnerability is after they are logged in....

Blizzard is probably aware of the exploit, and of course they are not going to post a public thread validating the issue, they are going to deny it. If they posted a public thread saying, yes there is currently an exploitable way to gain access to peoples accounts, they just compounded their problem cause now everyone is going to try it. Its no surprise that they deny the claims and are constantly deleting threads on the bnet forums about it.

MAJOR, MAJOR SCREW-UP

Right now, what happens:

You start the game, and it's downloading the new patch 1.02
It's installing and re-starting D3 and the info says patch 1.02 is installed.

Then you log-in and it tells you (again) a new patch is available, it will install the patch and then restart the game. (Although you already installed it before!)

Then it tries to restart, but the game hangs/crashed in task-manager and it tells my "Diablo III" is already running - and the game cant be started.

Anyone else have this?

Its not a screwup it's because the servers are down until 11

lol im at like 4.5k DPS on my monk and am doing fine in hell, elites just take a little more thought

I think its obvious. You can look at the plethora of people getting hacked. You really think all these tons of people who report a new account hacked literally every 5 mins on bnet forums and other sites is getting keylogged or phised? All these people dont have virus protection? Come on...

Scroll back on this forum, you have people who have been hacked and I bet if you ask them they havnt gone to any fishy sites or do any weird activity. There are a lot of people losing their accounts man.

I understand what youre saying though. In this case, I think your scenario is unlikely. Just sayin, maybe im wrong.

I understand D3 is very popular right now, but the amount of people getting compromised does seem excessive.

I think there's a perception that there's a lot of people getting hacked only because those who get hacked makes the loudest noise. What else are you gonna do when you can't play the game.

Then why was I hacked after clearly stating that I've done none of that? Obviously you can't point fingers at a person you don't really know, therefor can only assume that I'm either genuinely telling the truth or lieing. So by defending myself, I already have the disadvantage.

I do agree, many many many people are stupid beyond reason when it comes to anything related to computers.

Let me make it simple, I am not those people and I was hacked, along with many many others who are not those stupid people.

To add to this, since I don't use or want a smartphone(due to the possibility of it getting hacked, having it trace my facebook... you know, security reasons that your understanding of is beyond that of thousands of others), now I have to wait a week or more to get an authenticator in the mail that I knew nothing about when I purchased this game. It was not mentioned anywhere as being necessary in the game requirements on the box. Imagine if all smartphones got hacked by some massive attack tomorrow compromising everybody that uses facebook on it. I could be the one going "lolzors you used facebook on a smartphone, only idiots that know nothing about phones do that!"... get the idea?

i think the hacked accnts in wow were at their worse in WOTLK before the authenticator came out

See Flexy? Kalmah is a perfect example. There are tons of seemingly non-stupid people who have comments like this after they are hacked. "Well I have never used a website or downloaded malicious software. I also was hacked. LIKE AT RANDOM. Something is fishy."

How are all these people getting hacked who arnt doing any malicious activity? Theres no way all these people are losing their accounts to keyloggers and stupidity.... Check the bnet forums, theres literally a new post of someone getting hacked every 5 mins.

On a side note, there are already a plethora of bots in the AH and in game now. People are programming all kinds of shit. Its not really that surprising.

D3 - I implemented the Android authenticator + strong PW.

I'm really starting to hate Infernal mode. I'm almost to Belial in Act II but the mob damage is totally off the scale. I don't have a problem with elites and bosses, there are only a few types which I relog for.

It's the damn trash mobs that swarm, each with the ability to 1 shot if it weren't for force armor. Then there's the mobs that charge you from off the screen out of nowhere that will 1 shot you if not for force armor.

I'm at the point where maybe DPS is more important that HP/Res because I find that I rely a TON more on dropped health orbs than ever before. I noticed the faster I can kill, the better because I get swarmed less, can kite better and save the health orbs on the ground when I need it.

I've also gone the route of spamming orb with %33 crit chance and +165% crit damage along with 2 items giving 15 arcane back per crit, pretty much allows me to spam indefinately.

~200 on all resists

I can blow up Act 1 without dying now but give me a break on trash mobs on Act 2, really?!?

Remember something here, and it seems many people complaining about inferno fail to realize this point. Blizzard specifically stated inferno was not there to necessarily be "beatable". The idea isnt that you should be able to beat it. You have to play with that in mind.

Just fyi...

I kind of like what they did making it hard. Finally a game that offers a real challenge to beat. You should be forced to have to farm and itemize for at least a few months to beat it.

Some interesting Blizzard rep comments regarding the account compromises.

There are such things as backdoors, and all it takes is one Java breach, one Flash compromise, one browser loophole kept close to the chest and stuff like this takes off. Flash has been particularly troublesome over the years for WoW, speaking from experience lol
