Just got to Act II Hell with my Barbarian. I have to admit, when I play my Barb I feel over-confident. I saw a Treasure Goblin and as usual I chased him. He was almost dead when suddenly I decided to "end the chase" by using Charge at him, he was just some distance away from me, but at the top of my screen, I couldn't see what was "above that point" on-screen. So I charged him, he died, then of course a pack of Elites that just happened to be around a meter away from the Goblin felt like it'd be fun to Vortex me in, Cage me there and spawn Arcane orbs along with a pool of magma.

Lesson learned... don't chase Treasure Goblins in Hell.

hating Inferno A3 more than I ever hated A2 on my solo Witch Doctor

A2 felt like I just needed to put out a lot of effort at times against elite packs

A3 its I kill some stuff die, kill some stuff die. run into an elite pack, lead them to some area of the map I will never see again and die. kill some stuff die, and repeat

my WD finally got through the beginning catapult quests and is in the Keep. I can tell the Keep is going to be absolute hell for me.

I just want to reach Tyrael and start doing Siegebreak runs.

Man I hate A2 for some reason, I personally feel A2 is so much more difficult than A3

I think the jump in difficulty between A1 and A2 is quite significant (quite probably for a reason) and that is what you are noticing.

One thing I would be careful of. I was playing my wizard in Nightmare and came across some lightning bats. It appeared that the more I electrocuted them, the more of them there were. I couldn't swear to it (it was late at night and I had been playing for hours) but I was pretty sure that the electricity actually spawned more creatures.

On a separate note, I was curious. If you guys had to rate the big bosses based on toughness to defeat, how would it go? For me, it would be:

1. Balial
2. Diablo
3. Asomdan

Any others have this?

It sounds like you're referring to an elite pack with the "illusionist" mod. The ability allows them to create illusions of themselves like the wizard's mirror image, only they make something like 5 or 6 images instead of 2.

And that's how I'd rate the bosses too.

1.) Belial for me as caster, although i saw a barb 2 lvls lower than me having no probs with it. That green stuff always kills me.

Wait till you find fast, invulnerable, mortar, vortex elite pack and a teleport, immune, arcane, desecration right next to each other in inferno. Might as well delete D3 at that point.

That's great to know, being in Act III/hell and already want to hang myself. Can't wait for inferno.... ;/

How is the game running tonight? I've got 2 more hours before I can go home and play. I'm off tomorrow, so it is going to be an all night'er!

Which of the 3 ranged classes (WD, Wiz, DH) have the best survivability? Which has the best DPS?

D3inc community and Blizz forums are raging at how much the game sucks.

How are you all enjoying the game? I totally lost interest after beating normal personally. It's so severe to the point, I'm not even motivated to play through with other classes.

The game has multiple flaws and lacks some vision, but its still fun, in an item grind sorta way.

I am hoping they fix can some of the stuff in future patches, hopefully sooner than later. Its kind of mind boggling all the stuff they screwed up, having D1 and D2 as a reference guide.... Its like they went backwards.

I know what you mean though. Ill probably be giving torchlight 2 a try and if that fails, path of exile. But I still plan to play D3 for a while. I must master inferno.

I found myself losing interest after Normal, as well. The game has been dumbed down too much to fit the model that Blizzard / Activision used with WoW. It will likely be successful for them as it attracts more of the casual gamer that doesn't have an interest in spending a large amount of time perfecting his/her character.

Also, having my account 'hacked' and all of the items taken put a big damper on my fun. I will definitely try Torchlight 2 when it comes out, but I haven't given up on Diablo 3. It will probably get better with patches and expansions.

You don't have to force yourself to like it if you don't like it anymore, you know. I remember paying full release price on launch day for Empire: Total War, and I think I played it for around twenty hours or so total, then I got bored. It was disappointing to get bored of it not because I felt like I "should have liked it", but of course because I payed full price for it. I don't actually "care" about the actual franchise of Total War to the point I'm telling myself that I "should have liked it" really, if I don't enjoy it (and I didn't) then I move on to something else. If it hadn't been for the financial link I wouldn't have cared about it anymore (back then), but I did for some time because I payed for it.

Today, I play other games. If you do play D3 while trying your best at ignoring some aspects that you don't like, it's another thing. It's what I do, there's some aspects of the game I don't like, nor some decisions that Blizzard took that I agree with, but I still play it, because other than those aspects I truly enjoy it. If you're totally bored of it, then why even thinking about it at all? Just uninstall it and try your best at moving on about the fact that you basically wasted some money. Who doesn't waste money in life? It happens, just play something else, something you do enjoy. The thing is, you come here and you ask us how can we possibly still enjoy it, while you don't. Well, we don't have to be in harmony with your personal preferences, nor do I ask you how can you possibly not like it to that point, while I and others do.

So yeah, I highly recommend that you go play games that you enjoy, rather than coming here and expecting someone to tell you something you want to hear.

I'm expecting d3 to get better after patches and an eventual expansion.

The problem for me is, the game leaves no mystery. There is nothing to draw from the imagination, everything is narrated to you. Even the bosses pop up to tell you what they are doing during the story and much of the time it's plain laughable. Diablo should be dark and mysterious but instead it's narrated to us like a children's book. I want to feel like I'm treading into the unknown, not into 'the next scripted event'. Remember d1? Going down that next level into the cathedral with no idea what's to come next. I want that.

Yeah. Unfortunately, this game isnt that. Heh. Not sure who the people are who designed D3 or who work for the current Blizzard, but it feels like they are a little amateurish if you ask me. I could have made many elements of D3 better myself. They should have hired me. : /

Yeah it's laughable. But I play with the voice volume off--heck usually the entire game volume off with some sort of music in the background. I didn't mind hearing it all the first time through, but I could care less about what any NPC has to say now. For a game where you're meant to repeat the same stuff over and over and over, the story really starts getting in the way.

The Blizz forums are always complaining that something sucks. It has been that way since WoW, those forums are 100% whining.

I Have a lvl 59 Wiz in act 3 of hell, loving how much harder it has gotten. Also have a lvl 19 Demon Hunter and Monk that I will be leveling as well as a Witch Doctor. Enjoying the game.

You guessed correct. The original makers of D2 were long gone. They went and made Torchlight 1 & 2. Even the amazing soundtrack guy (Ulman) went to Torchlight. You can tell his signature amazing sounds.

LISTEN TO THIS!!! That's the spirit of Diablo 1!

Nice that does have D1 music nostalgia. Too bad this guy wasn't involved on D3.

How do you guys deal with those 'anti-melee' mobs with lasers that rotate or that spawn pits of lava around themselves, or that drag chains across each other and trap you? Some of them do all of the above, and I haven't found a good way to deal with them other than by teaming up with a range class.

I mean if you play a barbarian or monk, I know how the range classes deal with them. Kiting.

I like it. It sounds inspired. You can feel the energy in it. While D3 music is nice, it feels soul-less.
