In one of the recent patches, I read that now, by default, everyone is going to sign into the general chat channel. Anyone know how to shut that off?

I have been playing single player up to this point and am happy to continue to do so. I don't want or need someone else 'Chatting' at me, particularly since I don't know them. And last night, the person chatting in my window was fairly immature and not worth reading, although he/she obviously thought what they had to say was worth broadcasting.

I don't want to have to "leave" the channel every single time I launch the game.

yea i have no idea how people got so much gold at the start

I'm only level 29, on normal still.. but I've accumulated over 1.3mil just buying and selling on the AH. I'll typically just spend 30 minutes a night before shutting down flipping items on the AH and upgrading stuff I have. Of course, I don't expect that to last much longer as the market gets saturated and the RMAH becomes active.

Decided yesterday after getting my ass handed to me for a while in inferno to load up on MF gear from the AH and head back to Hell. my damage went down a little to around 9k and my HP to 25k, but my MF was over 100. Wow does Hell seem easy after doing Inferno for a while. It was nice looking forward to champions and bosses again. Might farm hell for a while and see if I can rack up some gold before heading back to inferno. Would be nice to see a legendary drop as I've yet to get one.

Anyone have a fav farm run in Hell for a Wiz?

Yeah you need more gear and farm. 9k dmg is nothing in inferno. I have 21k with magic weapon enabled and thats not enough. 25k HP is about what I have as well and thats basically still in the 1hit death category.

They are adding that in a future patch, to permanently remove yourself from a chatroom.

Maybe they can add the ability to cancel auctions in future patches as well, you know, something that people actually care about. Clearly we all care about joining the general chat upon login right?

If I want to be social, I will join the social channels. If I am playing single player and just want to blow off some steam after work, I don't want to be forced to read or ignore every random thought that someone wants to share.

whats the quickest way to power level? I just want to power level to 30.

to me the fun with the characters start around level 30/. ive put like 35 hours into a monk and only level 54.. i want to start a WD.

Actually, yes. A lot of people clamored that no one was chatting and that there was no chatting function (didn't see/find it), so people wanted to join general on default.

My Demon Hunter is lvl 33 now and the levels have gone very fast. No power leveling, just playing through normal and nightmare (only on A2 NM right now). Once you hit lvl 40+ is when things start slowing down.

ZK runs in NM until 51.

I made the Staff of Herding for Hell. Adrenaline#1529 if you want to try it sometime.

Also, take a waypoint before Azmodan and plow through there to killing him with 5 NV stacks.

It would have been nicer to join like an actual large chat window or something like D2 had, rather than some small little chat corner lol. At least in D2 we didnt have to read the chat when we were in game, I guess thats what is annoying to me.

Can you provide some information on your barb build? I'm in Act I hell right now, but interested in how you're playing, and what items (or stats) you're preferring.

Levelling was a little different, I used Cleave quite a lot and played with different AoE abilities but it's a matter of preference. That build is what I've used almost the entire time in Inferno though.

The blank skill I'm still debating over. Personally I love Overpower with the healing rune (second Revenge practically), but it simply isn't active often enough for me currently as I have no crit. I've been toying with Rend in that slot with the healing rune which has been ok, I might try Furious Charge with Dreadnought attached to it at some point.

Frenzy I should probably update the rune for, I've just kind of had Triumph out of habit, but it does help me out every now and then. Sidearm or Maniac are probably better choices.

Essentially I like a lot of self-healing and playing tanky. I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it all the way through A3/A4 Inferno like that, but I'll have to see how they compare to A2 first.

"Real" gear I have about 60k health, just under 10k armor, 500-600 each resist (with shout) and around 18k DPS with a 1h and shield. I think pushing resists a bit higher and getting a good shield will be a noticeable difference (I've been combing the AH like mad for a Sacred Shield with a high block % and resists/stats but they are exceedingly hard to find, I also check Stormshields)

"Farm" gear (MF for A1 essentially) I have about 52k health, about the same armor, 300-400 resists, about 15k DPS and 150 MF base. But I was also able to farm there with substantially worse gear, first butcher kill was with 8k-9k DPS.

For solo play, I really like the Enchantress as well. I've got her stacked with vit and MF (gives me something like 13-14% I think) and use her for the ASPD and +armor passive abilities. Her CC goes out randomly but usually helps a little bit.
