It is certainly junk gear to higher level people, but some of it is pretty good stuff for people working on normal.
In any case, do you just sell it to the merchants if it doesn't sell on the AH?
Looking for suggestions. I currently have all 5 classes at lvl 31+. My highest are a lvl 40 Barb, and a lvl 40 DH; the monk is lvl 31, and WD and Wiz are 34 and 32, respectively.
What would you guys recommend I continue leveling up? I'd like to focus on one character and get them to 60, into inferno, etc. I don't want to get up there and think to myself "why the hell did I choose a <insert class here>?" I'm hoping to pick the class that has the least chance of me asking myself that question.
It just kind of depends really. I can say if you want the biggest challenge, the barb and monk will be the hardest in inferno. You need lots of good gear for melee.
Past that, DH is the easiest class in the game, followed by Wiz and WD. All 3 of those can do inferno so......It just depends what you like. The DH and Wiz probably best at MFing if that interests you.
How do the DH and Wiz compare, directly? Does one do something significantly better than the other, but pay for it in another area? Like the DH may be king of DPS, but the survivability edge might go to the Wiz?
spent another 5mil today and still can't get through act 2 without dying left and right... Ran from more than one elite group because I didn't stand a chance, after about an hour of torture I gave up, again. I can only put up with this for so long before it's no longer fun. Rolling a wizard I guess I'll see how it feels to be a glass cannon, maybe I can kill shit without spending 10mil+ gold.

Confirms / 1.0.3 Additional Information:
• Confirmed: Holy, Fire, Cold, etc are purely aesthetic, with the exception of Cold, which does slow mobs but has reduced damage.
• Ability to Turn off the nameplates for white/grey items on the ground for high level characters.
Wait, what?
So, if a weapon deals (pure example) 50 to 100 of Fire damage... then... what is that 50 to 100? Aesthetic damage? I don't get it. So there's zero difference between say... 50 to 100 Fire damage and 50 to 100 Holy damage? It's only for visual effects, with the exception of Cold?
I always thought that Arcane, Holy, Fire, Cold, Poison and Lightning damage types DID actually "add" on top of the base PHYSICAL damage of the weapon (that's the white number on the weapon, for example if a weapon deals 943 to 1135 damage, written in smaller white letters, that's the basic weapon's damage) and also had their own ways to damage (either being DoT, or actual elemental damage dealing specific damage types to the mob that happens to not be well protected against those types of damage, for example having a Fallen being more vulnerable to Holy damage since they're demons, or undead mobs being more vulnerable to Arcane damage).
So, Fire and Poison damage types for example are actually NOT DoT damage types at all? They don't actually add a Damage-over-Time effect? It's all just purely asthetics? Can anyone actually CONFIRM that (other than Blizzard)? I find it incredibly difficult to believe that Blizzard didn't actually do anything useful with those elemental and other damage types other than just giving Cold "some use" outside of a visual and audio effect by slowing down mobs (and hearing them cracking when they turn into a cold statue) at the price of reduced damage. And what's the reduced damage anyway from Cold type? Is that reduced COLD damage? Or reduced base PHYSICAL damage?
But ultimately it's all just a question of personal preferences in visual effects? That cannot be, seriously Blizzard? So I'll go with a weapon that deals Poison damage just because I like seeing my mobs turn green after they die? Do we really have to go the Mass Effect 3 ending route? In that case, I'll go with Fire since I prefer red. C'mon guys!
OMG YES! Did they listen to a suggestion I made on their forums?! Anyway, I'll totally never turn that thing Off when it gets released. No more seeing White or Grey items on the ground, EVER AGAIN. God exists.

Just beat Belial with my glass cannon DH and now going through act III.
It is a shame Blizzard is nerfing inferno because of all the kiddies whining on the forums.
*I have never spent over 600K on an item
*My average item probably costs around 250K
*I look for deals on the AH
*I don't suck at this game
Just beat Belial with my glass cannon DH and now going through act III. Couldn't beat him yesterday as I tried for about 25 minutes. Beat him my first try today as a switched over to a lot of +critical hit chance gear and +max discipline gear.
