You're also a DH.
That's pretty much all it takes to not suck apparently. I'm not bad at video games by any means and when I group up with people we do well but solo in inferno as melee is absolutely awful.
You're also a DH.
You forgot :
*I farmed act 4 inferno by the exploit for a week for gear
or
*Damn DH's are totally overpowered
or
*I get to troll c/o Smokescreen (no CD vanish must be nice)
i hate my DH =[
Ok I gotta know, where are these 300k/hr farming spots? Are these just AH farmers or what?
gold farm locations that bots use or people actually run repeatedly
Im asking where they are not what
Spend about 50-80 million on AH and you'll love your DH
But the best things in life are FREE...
Can't you make 300k/hour with GF gear and vases in crypts?
Making elemental damage aesthetic is much preferable to "lightning does best dps, only use cold for kiting, and skip holy/poison/fire" imo.
Sure, but that doesn't mean that was the only other possible outcome. They could have put more thought into it and made the other elements preferable for certain situations.
I gave up on my monk already. The game ended at inferno act1. What's the point of farming if you never gonna get a decent weapon? In fact buying one won't help either. Am I missing something here? How do I suppose to advance further in the game?
Got my Monk to Inferno yesterday. Cruised through Act 1 pretty easily. There were a couple champions that were a pain and killed me a couple times, but I didn't find any that I couldn't kill with a little planning. The biggest pain was plague, molten, arcane. Wasn't the hits. And even then I just had to time my skills accordingly or in the worst case, lead the mob over to a re-spawn point so I could continue before they healed.
My Monk has about 21k DPS, 26k HP, 21% crit, 230% crit damage, and around 400 resists. Finding I would like to have some more + health per hit or damage converted to health. May have to sacrifice some crit damage for that. As for gear I found I had made 2.5mil when I got home yesterday (mostly from selling my first ever legendary), so I spent about 1.5 of it on all new gear. The most expensive item was no more than 400k.
I know Act 2 will be a lot harder, so we'll see how that goes.
I think for A2 you may need to boost up your resist some more and get some Life on Hit weapons fast weaps ? If you don't already have them.
i have a few 800dps blue fists that i stashed, and some 600ish dps rare 1h stuff w/ decent stats that i can part with.
btw i have a monk and i'm doing ok in act2, stuff still kills me but thats usually because i put myself in a bad position or i spaz out and walk into the fire. the stats you need are: 400+ resist, 5k+ base armor, and 13k+ dps. you can outfit yourself with those stats for about... 300-500k on the auction house. i have two sets of gear (arcane gear and phys. resist gear) that will get me to those numbers.
i use deadly reach w/ 50% armor, earth ally, breath of heaven w/ 15% dmg, blind w/ 30% dmg, serenity w/ +1 sec immunity, and mantra of conviction w/ 30% movement debuff. also use enchantress w/ 15% armor and 3% ias.
the trick to using your mystic ally is this: upon summoning he will have the EXACT same stats as you do. so if you do it w/ the 50% armor buff up, he will have the same stats as you even if your armor buff wears off. you dps w/ deadly reach and keep your 50% armor buff up, kite (this is where 30% move debuff helps a ton) a little out of reach, and cast your earth ally as u kite (for the taunt). this play style is remniscent of hammerdins where you stop-and-go while casting hammers. if you've played hammerdins, you can probably do this.
