Yeah, I wish they would code the game better so it was more like D2 where monsters will target your merc first or whoever is closer, then go for you. Not just bypass the merc and run straight at you. That cave is pretty difficulty actually and took me a while to get through too.

And to answer your question, I clear areas out so I can lure unbeatable mobs into then die so I can just run past them. Some packs are just impossible as certain classes. Clear side tunnels out so when you get a mob you cant kill, you can stick them in there.

Cool. I hate not being able to kill something, but if avoiding them is necessary I will.

Does anybody else feel like it's difficult, especially as a melee character (Barb or Monk), to target specific enemies when there's a swarm around you? I often find myself trying to target and attack something near me, and I end up just moving nearby, but not actually beginning my attack (my left-click attack).

Edit: Speaking of Barbs, what do other Barbs prefer as their left-click attack? I've been using Frenzy with Sidearm rune. Not sure if another one is generally a better choice.

Just uninstalled the game after getting to Act 2 Inferno. Not fun anymore. I might reinstall it when they release some new content, but I'm tired of playing the same stuff over and over again.

Seems like the monk signature attacks move you around a lot, but especially with the barb I've gotten into the habit of holding shift + left mouse button. I prefer Frenzy over the other two signature moves, but I'm guessing Bash is for when you're tanking.

I bought the digital version of the game (you mean the one where you buy online and just download it, right?) and I've had access to the RMAH since day one (of the RMAH).

You have to have a authenticator key fob device or mobile authenticator on your Droid or iOS phone to access the RMAH. They also SMS text message you with confirmation codes if you list something >$50.

You also need to link a PayPal account to your battle.net account if you want to sell and have it withdrawable to PayPal.

Use shift+ability to stand in place and spam that ability, let the mobs come to you. Doubly so if there's a doorway or other choke point near you.

@ Some of the last few people stuck in act 2. Your gear looks fine, act 2 mob types are a complete bitch on top of the extra damage. You really have to learn how to deal with each one, like the wasps. If you don't manage those they will eat your lunch while you are fighting other mobs.

I found a highly mobile spec helped. As a monk I went with dashing strike-quicksilver and fists of thunder -thunderclap. Lashing tail kick with sweeping armada would be nice as well.

Which companion or whatever are you taking? I found Templar to be less useful in this act.

So they won't retroactively update legendarys with the new changes but they will retroactively nerf existing IAS gear? Oh, I guess because both scenarios will generate more RMAH revenue. Blizzard, you suck.

WTF is wrong with blizzard... since IAS is majorly nerfed, now monks will stack more LoH rather than a combination of the 2 just to stay alive. Guess it's time to stock up on LoH gear.

This is the way I am leaning. They should have done a damage calculation adjustment instead. I am going to go below 2 aps now which sucks.

I love this game but I am growing tired of the nonstop changes that aren't needed.

A lot of people spent millions on high dps weapons which is includes the IAS for you. If they nerf the it, they should at least buff the weapons in other ways to push dps back up or it'll be pretty fucked up to see a 25%IAS 1000dps weapon that someone bought for 50 mil go down to 750dps..

I think it was poorly designed from the beginning, and the changes aren't helping anything. The game just isn't fun imo, there isn't anything worth playing for.

Idk, I think the problem is that people don't even think about how DPS works. All 1000 dps weapons aren't the same, you need to look at the attack speed regardless, but people don't seem to do that. The damage isn't changing, so the real complaint should be that they are nerfing the already existing items(they must have no choice, because they would make plenty of money from people selling the high ias items)

Honestly, I don't know much about how dps works either in the grand scheme when you include character stats into it but what I do know is how the dps on a weapon is calculated. I learned that valuable lesson early on that most of the stat buffs on a weapon is already included on the dps value on the weapon itself.

So when you buy something on the AH that's 1000dps that has 25% IAS, the weapon is still 1000dps but if they half the IAS, that dps value is going to drop accordingly. That drop will be the difference between 50m and 2m. Weapons that are 1000dps that doesn't have any IAS will still be 50m after the patch, those with IAS will plummet. Gonna suck for those on the latter group.

There's two types of attack speed, Increase Attack Speed and Attack Speed Increased, and the code is different for each. ASI is supposed to only be on weapons but there's a couple items with it (which are bugged since it's the wrong type). I doubt they are going to change ASI since that would fuck up only weapons not DPS from those stacking other items with IAS (who may also have ASI weapons).

The nerf is going to hurt melee more than just the dps loss since our resource regen is based on attacks/sec.

I punched the numbers into my spreadsheet and my dps drops down by 21.4k dps. Yeah, my game may be done with after that.

Those who read the Bliz forums are unloading IAS inventory at a discount. I'm snatching and putting it back up at market value which get bought by those who don't read the forums.

I wonder what affix everyone is going to migrate to once IAS is nerfed, should consider investing in some to flip for a profit. As a monk, I get the feeling LoH will be in greater demand. Possibly crit rate & crit dmg for DH?
