Hm. I can afford those weapons, yet I have never bought gold; I have considered buying the weapons though. DPS counts for a lot.

Deadly Reach= Terribad
Deadly Reach = How I solo'd Inferno Belial, Azmodan and Diablo.... prior to the act 2/3/4 nerfs. Deadly reach with the +50% armour buff does wonders for survivability.

All the weapons at the higher end are priced crazily. There are *pages* of 900+ dps weapons, one hand and two handed, that are set to buy out at several million, and a lot are junk aside from that dps. People must be buying gold to afford that.
Funny thing is many 800 dps weapons with crit damage or sockets for crit damage will outpace a pure 900 dps only weapon.

Also, you don't have to buy gold to have that much money. I found a 6 prop legging recipe and sold it for 20M. Found a 940 dps 180 dex weapon this morning, equipped it on the spot.

The new drop rates are very nice for act 3/4.

For all the Monk users that want gear faster (don't know if that has been posted here or not, and I don't think it is patched):

Get a group of elites and dps them down evenly, when all three are below 30%, kill one with Exploding Palm and the Impending Doom rune.

You get 3 times as many rares. Enjoy. This works best with melee ones.

You also get faster NV stacks, up to as many uniques you kill with the final blow. This can work with other classes that can finish off more than one elite at a time that is the LAST to die in the set, it is just a little harder.

Well, I tried to start the separate Diablo 3 Beaching thread, but it was closed down... I guess i'll hijack this one.

As Someone who played D2 and D2LOD; i am convinced that today it is a valid statemt that:

Friends Don't let friands play D3.

Discuss...

So Ghom the larder....wtf.

Belial..on inferno..seriously..No problem.

Ghom? Face stomps me..I think after kiting him around for awhile I had him at "maybe" 45% hp.

18k dps at moment..I'm thinking I need to dual wield and burst him down more than have a shield.

Finally got a drop worth a damn. 3-4mil was going rate on AH.

Monk oriented -10 level requirement,140dex~ 845 DPS weapon. So at level 50 you could have this pretty sweet weapon.

Congrats man. Yeah drop rate has increased but so has the crap.

also I felt like if I didn't have 5 stacks of valor I couldn't get rares to drop. (and I have 3 stacks naturally on me)

If you think you need to buy gold to have gold, you're a terrible businessman.

Up to HC NM A4, actually tried out 2h, its crazy how much more damage it gives you on stuff like Earthquake and Revenge. Still quite well equipped without the AH as well.

There's somewhat of a truth to that. NV not only augments your Magic Find but also has kind of a 'hidden' buff to it where having 4-5 stacks provide a number of 'guaranteed' drops for killing bosses/elites/champs. So while you can have 3 stacks and a ton of magic find on your gear, it's still possible to not see rares due to bad luck; on the other hand if you have five stacks but no MF you will definitely see at least one rare from each elite/champ pack and two rares (iirc) from each act boss now.

Deadly Reach= Terribad. Back to Fist of Thunder. Drop rate does appear to have increased..but with 5 stacks and +30MF on my own I still found a few lvl 51 rares..wth.

Uhhh Drop rates have made a VERY big difference already. The higher drop rates doesn't mean you have 0% chance to find lvl 50 items, it just means you will find LESS of them than you found before. And magic find does not make higher ilvl gear drop, it just increases the chance an item that drops will be MAGIC. I.E. MAGIC find.

So Ghom the larder....wtf.

Belial..on inferno..seriously..No problem.

I have found that most bosses do piss poor DPS compared to what you find from mobs leveling, and since most have an enrage timer, it is more beneficial to dual wield against them than sword n board. Also, most bosses swing slow and hit harder per swing, minimizing the necessity of a shield. Shields add armor, but their primary use is when you get 10 things hitting on you, you will block 2 or 3 out of the 10 swings.

IMO thats the nice thing about dual wield, some nice increase in your DPS without needing to buy another kick ass and expensive weapon. The weapon in your offhand only needs to be picked by the stats.

I really enjoy Diablo 3, it removed some of the more annoying aspects of Diablo 2 that I did not like or enjoy. Sure Diablo 2 in it self was a good game, but I personally feel a lot of people give D2 more credit than what it is due, based on the mindset that since D3 did not meet their expectations they believe D2 was so much a better game, when a good portion of flaws pointed out in D3 was also pointed out in D2, some were patched years after release, some were never fixed.

Things I did not enjoy in D2 that are not in D3:

- Horadum Cube. Waste of space that really didn't do much beyond gem combining and simple things that were meaningless and took up space.
- Ability and/or Potion chug spam. Game was boring sometimes as all I had to do was spam 1 button non stop as I continuously chug potion after potion, and then run back to town for more when empty. Now I have to actually put a small amount of thought into my play.
- Gold was basically meaningless, besides buying potions (if you never found enough to keep you going and/or saved them) and repairing and gambling for a SoJ (that became so cheap and meaningless later on with item dupping).
- Storage was not shared amongst all characters, so NOW I can store items from one character and use them on another without working on a method to pass it over. Also, storage size is really nice.

Yeah. I need to attempt dual wield. I'm pretty pimped out aside from my weapon.

I have an 860 DPS 180 dex +60% crit 1h. I sit at 17.5k unbuffed dps.

I can add a +9% AS ring (there is room for an upgrade there is).

And I need a bracer upgrade...debating if +crit % or dmg % is worth searching for.

Thanks for that nugget of wisdom, but if I never find anything worthwhile, what am I gonna auction?

You will eventually.

It takes a small amount of time investment to learn what is technically valuable vs junk.

+all resist
+Resist
+Primary high stat
+vit

On just about any piece of armor is valuable.

+10-12% Move speed on boots makes it more valuable

+Attack Speed
+Life on Hit
on rings makes it valuable

+750DPS on a 1h weapon makes it valuable.

+Crit dmg/%
+Primary Stat
+Resists/All
+Attack Speed
on gloves makes it valuable.

and by valuable i mean not vendor trash..obviously these items won't technically make you millions.

Is there a market for a shoulder drop I got?

+70 all resists
+30 Poison resist
+68 VIT~
And some +life regen.

Seems pretty good for a monk with high poison resist stacking.

Possibly. For a Newb monk. I'm not being derisive there..But I made the mistake too when I first started with my Monk in inferno. I stacked major resists but couldn't kill anything. So the lack of Dex kills it.

Its worth listing for sure.
