Is act 2 farming worth it at all? The elites are spread out all over the place and some of them are really difficult. (nagas fuuuuuuuu) When I ran through it I didn't get much loot, nothing better than what i'd have gotten in act 1.

Act 2 is great. I farm the desert area's..there are 3 of them leading up to mahda. Once you get to the cultists.. I kill the first set of elites in my way and then rush to the boss entrance.

So I just started act 1 inferno and have a gear question for my DH. I currently have a full set o asheara's armor with the resist bonus etc but occasionally find a new piece of armor with better individual stats than the corresponding set piece. Should I stick with the set or swap our marginally better stuff?

How rare of stuff would I have to find in order to do better than my current set?

SPOILERS:

i just beat the game on normal (got it launch day)

i feel so incredibly trolled by every single boss
, especially diablo no less

"Don't you dare close the last gate to hell that I made in Heaven. If you do, you'll be trapped in hell forever!"

*my monk enters the hell portal, goes in, and destroys it.*

*i pause for a moment*

*Nothing bad happens, the same old portal by the angel opens up, I leave without a problem*

Diablo: *completely ignoring what he just said* : It doesn't matter its nearly too late!

REALLLY NOW? To be fair to diablo, Azmodan was a bigger troll
"WATCH ME CONSTANTLY TAUNT YOU AS YOU DESTROY MY ARMY IN YOUR WAKE"

Adria was completely WTF
Diablo: You have served me well, you may leave
Adria: kthxbye --> "Walks away casually"

WTF. Chris Metzen was on drugs when we approved/wrote this shit, or he thought it'd be funny to troll the player over and over again. Thank god for side books, because it was inifintely more interesting.

The character development, by and large, was pitiful; Leah was extremely underdeveloped for her importance, all the bosses were nearly entirely forgettable, the character that came out on top was Zoltan Kuhl, although that was botched because an entire group of horadrim couldn't kill him (they just physically separated pieces of his body), but you somehow did. Although the monk's character development was fine because I learned about him through the side stories with others. To fit each character in the story you had to take a cookie cutter approach which is okay, but when you try to present to me a ghost of Leah at the end to guilt me it comes off really bad, because the monk, in the way he was presented, would never have felt guilt for what happened. That is really clear in all his side discussions with his followers.

Meh, trolled 100% of the way. I loved how act1 and act 2 looked though

How many elites is that? In act one I can go through about 10 packs + butcher in about 30 minutes. I really don't see that happening for act 2 unless you go all the way through to zultan kuul.

Lol@ spoiler text.

lol, ya, sorry. Story for Diablo I through II: Diablo's back, we need to kill Diablo, different sub-boss minions spread across 4 acts on the way over, kill Diablo, next-up Diablo IV.

FInally sold my unique Balefire Caster on RMAH for the bid price... $3.50. There's like 100 others on sale, so at least mines sold after a week.

Might start dumping resists on my DH. She's got about 500 base with only 37k/32k hp depending on weapon. Usually she's sole survivor unless the effing elite has vortex, but it's just so much more satisfying to one-hit kill things as a glass cannon.

The "desert area" is BY FAR the worst, most annoying place in the entire game.

I really hate how hard it is to see items that drop in act2 "bright" areas. It may just be my settings, but I'm not changing them for just that.

No clue what you are talking about here. Must be your settings. I use spacebar to see items that fall on ground. Why is it "hard" to see them?

They just seem to blend in and it requires me to focus my eyes a little. It's really just something that bugs me, probably easily fixed but not annoying enough to bother with.

Which after re-reading my initial post makes it very odd that I even brought it up. I guess I am just that bored at work today.

They overdid the brightness of the desert areas. I had my gamma way up for Act 1, 3, and 4, but for Act II I had to turn it way down below midway to make it comfortable enough to play for those two or three maps.

What do I need for Inferno Act II? I've finished Act I pretty easily. I'm playing as a demon hunter.

My stats are:
15K damage (28K with sharpshooter skill at full 100%)
Armor: 3K
Life: 32K
Resist: Between 160-260 for each (260 is the only one that high...for fire)

Dont know what skills you use, but regarding builds, you should be building damage. I dont ever even look at my resists or armor. Its pointless in inferno, you would need 500 resists or so to even start to notice a difference. I have my HP close to the same as yours.

The only issue that sticks out is your fairly low damage. Need decent attack speed as well.

Even I have trouble killing some packs in act2 and I have like 30k damage before ss and about 72k dmg after.

Damage, lots of it, at the cost of resists/health. The DH I run with has like 50K dps (no sharpshooter), 20K health and 0 resist. Obviously you don't need that much damage for act 2 but that's the direction you need to head.

I play, pretty much, a kiting build. (tactical advantage with vault and smokescreen) In addition to TA and SS I also use the Archery skill (+50% crit damage with xbow).

I did alright trying to get through Act 2 until i came to my first blue mob and they had walls and the duplicates or whatever and they just destroyed me.

Other than buying a better weapon (i have a level 63 xbow with 890 dps) I dont know to increas damage without loosing out a bunch on vitality. i have half of my gems as +DEX and half +Vit so that i can take a hit without getting one-shotted all the time.

Yeah, you do need some vit so you dont get 1 shot but, I wouldnt waste it on gems. You want Dex gems for any open slots...

Your 890 dps xbow is extremely low dmg for an xbow to the point where id ponder why one would be using that. That is pretty damn low dmg. Does that have other mods on it? 890 dps xbow is worth maybe 20k gold now. You should be able to find significantly higher dmg xbow's(like 1075 dmg) now for like 30-50k gold easy..

With the IAS nerf, you pretty much need an xbow with at least 1.2 AS, otherwise they shoot so damn slow to where its not worth it to have the +50% crit dmg.

I recently switched to normal bow with 900ish dmg and 50%+ crit dmg with dex and I am much happier over my 1100 dmg 1.2 AS xbow with no added mods.

Xbows are only better if you get a good expensive one with added attack speed, open sockets, +crit dmg, +dex etc...

My DH has 20k health, crap for resists and a crapton of DPS. I have 94.7k dps with no SS and kill everything fast except for reflect or waller. Sharphooter is a garbage skill, get rid of it ASAP.

I have +8 discipline from my chest and +10 discipline from my quiver. I aimed for 1.5 attacks per second.

Go to the AH and spend one million gold on the most damage crossbow you can find (1213 dps when I looked the other day).

Yeah thats the problem. I dont know what most DH's use now but if it doesnt have at least 1.20 attack speed, it makes it pretty rough to use.

My bow is 1.1 and I get increased attack speed from:

Ring
Gloves
Helm
Pants
Boots
Quiver

You can get the speed up, it takes a little time.

just finished nm diablo on the wiz. what a pain in the ass. no one else seems to think diablo is difficult, but the one I always face seems to teleport often, and not surprising to unleash a fireball as soon as he comes out of it right next to me.

plus I've been playing D3 and not AH3, so while I've got a stash full of barb and DH items, picking has been a lot less appealing for the wiz. and now I've got to replay some NM so I can hit 50 and advance into hell.....

I regear my weapon every few levels and all my tear every 10. The gear you can set a limit if 10k per piece and resell it on the AH when done. When you hit 45, go to the AH and do this:

Change character from yours to wizard
Scroll item all the way to the bottom to reduce level requirement and type in 15

Instantly cheap weapons with 300+ dps show up. I am using a 600+ mace on my 51 wizard killing everything fast. I have like 15k dps or so.
